Summary
The elevator ride up is silent, save for Connor's constant moving. It's like he can't sit still to save his life. Quinn nearly jumps out of his skin when Connor lets out a low whine, leaning against him.
"Good?"
"Always," Connor whispers, but it slices through the silence like a knife through butter.
He looks up at Quinn, his slouch evident. Up close, it's easier to focus his eyes. Quinn's grinding his teeth together, jaw strung tight with...some emotion, Connor can't tell. His eyes are trained on the door, like a frightened rabbit ready to run. Connor hopes he doesn't. He wants Quinn to stay.
The elevator dings.

Summary
The photo of Connor post his morning workout, hair curling at the ends from sweat and one arm raised in a way that pulls his shirt up just enough for a glimpse of his abs to show, disappears from Macklin's screen as he contemplates what to write.
As he thinks, he absentmindedly licks at his lips. His mouth is oddly dry, but Macklin doesn't think too much of it, attributing it to the hard practice they've just had.
He really needs to rehydrate.
gross haha, he eventually texts back, send that to your puck bunnies bro(Macklin is an idiot until he's not and Team Canada collectively agrees that Connor has the patience of a saint)

Summary

Now a firefighter he’s assigned to Station 43 in Midtown Manhattan, where he forms a new kind of brotherhood with Mark and Ethan, the dynamic paramedics; Dylan and Rutger, who handle fire suppression; and Seamus, Luke's partner for rescues and extraction.
But with Jack just across the Hudson River, blood truly is thicker than water, and Luke must now fight a different kind of fire from that the Devil himself cannot put out.
