Grace nods, but that familiar fear is creeping up on him. The one that visits him when his head hits the pillow, that makes him feel like he's just stalling the inevitable. It's silly.
All he has to do is not starve on the way to Erid. Then he'll be the only human on the planet. For the rest of his life. Which is not scary at all.

Summary
Grace is dying. He and Rocky have made it all the way to Erid, but getting an emaciated, malnourished, mentally fragile Ryland Grace down to a planet designed to kill him is not a simple feat.
