Images of a fire scorched and bombed Rivendell appear in his mind, his friends encased in ice, and he squeezes his eyes shut. Everything still hurts, and he whimpers as the man brings a hand to his cheek. His palm rests softly, calluses pressed against Scott’s petal-soft skin. It’s grounding, the warmth waking him up better than the cold did, and he blinks his eyes open again.
The man above him still looks conflicted, but there’s an inexperienced softness there, too.
“Hey… how about this, okay? You just take a breath, and I’ll get us home.”
Scott, against his better judgement, nods.

Summary
All Scott wanted was to get more iron and escape the chaos of Limited Life for one day, but that was somehow too big of a request!
In less than an hour, Scott had broken his pickaxe and been found by a yellow—and not just any yellow. No, that would be too easy! Of course, the yellow that found him had to be his ex-husband, Jimmy. Jimmy, who had disappeared the moment he'd widowed Scott, and left him broken-hearted and confused. And as the cherry on top, the cave entrance had collapsed in on itself as Scott was trying to leave.
So now he’s stuck in a dingy cave with his ex-husband and has no idea if or when Martyn is coming to get him out of here.
