Summary
But then, Tom did something unexpected, something that transcended mere charm. His eyes crinkled at the corners, and his full lips widened into a grin before his whole face settled into a smile that was nothing short of breathtaking. It wasn't just a smile; it was a performance, an artwork of genuine warmth and joy. By Merlin, it was blinding.
Watching Tom with his perfect white teeth on display, you couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy and a sense of awe. You'd never seen a smile so lovely or heard a laugh so melodic. It was perfection, and it was all for her. For her, but never for you. You realized why that was: you were never worth such an effort of Tom's brilliant acting.
For a fleeting second, you were also pulled into this staged scene, witnessing a young man doing everything he could for the woman he loved. After that second passed, terror replaced enchantment. No longer jealous of your mother's special performance, you felt a cold, stark gratitude that Tom had never turned his acting on you, never pretended to be in love, or duped you into thinking this façade was real. Because, if he had, you too would have been a fool, deceived by an illusion so perfectly crafted that it might have broken you.

Summary
“Riddle,” You came into his view in the common room.
He sat with legs crossed on the sofa, a book in hand. “Yes?”
“Are you available for the rest of the day? I want to thank you for helping me yesterday.”
“I am,” he rose from his seat and looked at you expectantly, “though, I believe there is not a Hogsmeade visit today, however.”
“Who said anything about the village?” you questioned before lowering your voice, “it's more of a… secretive place outside the castle.”
This piqued Tom’s interest.
