Summary
A curse has spread like a plague across the land, turning the tides of political conflicts and altering a good portion of the human population into Winged Creatures. Witchers appear to be the only one's willing to offer any sort of kinship to the new race, and new paranoia haunts the minds of human kings and queens.
Jaskier could not outrun the curse. Eskel could not escape the horrors that humans granted upon their former friends and families. Geralt and Ciri could only hide with the Winged, not fight for them, as they dodged Nilfgaard. Lambert could only flee with his new charge, suddenly responsible for a much younger life.
Witchers and Winged are targeted by humans, ignored by older races, and are both looking for a place to call home. A safe place to rest.
How fortuitous then, that Kaer Morhen is so large.
