Summary
The puppets were a favourite toy soon, for both Colin and Elliot. Her curiosity made it hard not to listen at the door, but she trusted them to be as lovely without her supervision as they were in the room. So it was not out of hand to welcome Violet into the house and walk her to the nursery to see both of the men of the house. Penelope truly did not want to interrupt a good game, but she knew Elliot loved his grandmother.
“No! OH NO! Mama will be crushed! She has nowhere to run! There is only the lake, and her skirts are in the way,” Colin cried out, his faked panic rather shrill.
Penelope paused with her hand on the door, wrinkling her nose. She was certain she had requested adventures that would not upset her little boy. She didn’t think he would enjoy any game where he watched a little doll of her get crushed. She waited to hear a little more, because the puppet games took hours some days. Colin was a talented storyteller.
“The puppets are acting out a little world for Elliot,” she whispered. “I am not sure what my puppet has done to deserve being the victim of a horrible accident.”

Summary
On a season 3 rewatch, it's obvious Lord Holley is skulking around looking for gossip. We know Colin's position on Lady Whistledown, but what would he make of another expert gossip weighing in on his romance? Set in a non-canon season 4-5 time frame.
It was possible the man was not familiar with children. Some men simply did not take an interest. Perhaps he looked at Elliot and had no idea he was bigger than a newborn. Colin knew every date of importance in his son’s life, but he did not expect others to recall his birthday.
Holley looked baffled, and tapped at his lips with a handkerchief. “Ah, but have you not been married these past two years, sir?”
They had invited this man to their engagement party. He had been at the wedding. Colin didn’t want to be unkind to a man clearly showing signs his memory was failing him, but it smacked of disrespect to include him and have him not even know what he was doing there. It felt rather abusive to bring this poor man out of his comforts and away from the caregivers who protected him in his infirmity. He had been old when Colin had first met him, but he didn’t think this concern had been mentioned directly.

Summary
Simon chuckled, and rubbed her neck under her hair. “I think Colin grew up in a house run by a strong woman raising strong women. He’s terrified of disappointing any woman. Now connect that to the way Penelope looks at him when he’s freshly back from his work trips. He’s trying to be a level of sure that might not exist outside a wedding,” he said. “Though he might have skipped to the wedding. Is she wearing the incredibly expensive necklace that normally doesn’t leave the bank?”
Daphne gasped and zoomed in on the image. “He always says he wants her to have the best of everything,” she said. “He used to hate her building until he ended up living there for a month, and now he has Anthony plotting to buy it for renovations.”

Summary
They waved the sparking sticks around and held them to the dark sky. Pen squealed as the tip burned down to a darker soot. “What do I do when it’s coming to my fingers?”
Eloise was writing her name, the flashing fire leaving stripes of light in the air. “It will go out before it gets too hot.”
She was nervous, and her yellow dress would not survive a spark on the bodice. “Here,” Colin said. “Stand by me and I will take it when you are frightened.”
Pen tried to hold out as long as she could, standing huddled next to him as he kept one hand free to rescue her. Her eyes moved from the ghostly blaze dancing in their grasps to his smiling face. He saw her flinch and put his hand up next to hers.
“Now?”

“I think a red wine is nicer when one has not planned to have the white wine cold,” Varley said. “Miss does not drink much, and Mr. Bridgerton will surely not fault you for using what you have ready?”
“One toasts an engagement with champagne,” Pen’s mother said sharply. “What will he think of us?”
“Very much what he always has, Ma’am, so I doubt it will stop him marrying her.”
Penelope walked in with Colin towed behind her, Mr. Lennox holding his cap at his side.
“Mama, we do not care which bottle you open,” she said. “But I would like to have a drink to celebrate my engagement. I have brought Mr. Lennox, as we frightened him with all our noise.”

Summary
A modern AU in London, where friends Colin and Penelope find themselves almost living together more often then they do apart. Recently updated to only include the canon of one specific AU that started with "Truth in the Throws." Since this one grew a plot unexpectedly, I'll list the stories in chronological order, with the caveat that some chapters do have flashbacks framed within the 'now' of the story.

Summary
A slow-burn canon twist starting from the first time Colin notices Debling noticing Penelope, setting off a lot of feelings he realizes were always trying to dig their way out of his denial. Pen is courting with the eye to marry well and keep her career, Colin is in love so big it is only dwarfed by the accompanying trouble, and Debling is not the only rival suitor. Lots of inclusion of Featherington and Bridgerton family members as the spectacle becomes a debacle with the goal of a wedding. WIP, not always that serious, and sometimes smutty/angsty.

Summary
"Will you two — can you behave tonight?" Eloise says, exasperation in her voice and her nose scrunched up.
Colin wears an innocent face. "I can't think what you mean. Penis and I always behave."
"I swear to God —" Penelope hisses, plonking the wine down hard on the counter. "You both have to stop with that —"
"I mean it!" Eloise exclaims as she goes over to the large bowl of salad on the side and begins to toss it aggressively. "None of your usual Pen-and-Colin shit, please. Edwina's bringing someone new, and I want him to think we're… normal." She sighs, shoulders sagging. "Normal-ish. Normal enough that he doesn't run screaming." Her eyes narrow. "And if I'm honest I'd rather avoid another evening of you two bitching at each other."
"We don't bitch," Colin insists, though they do, in fact, bitch. "Penelope is my dearest friend."

Publishing magnate Agatha Danbury finally got her favorite author Penelope Featherington to retire her num de plume Lady Whistledown and disclose her identity to the public three months before the release of the ninth and final book of her romance book series titled ‘Mayfair Affairs’.
Editor Siena Rosso concerned that Penelope’s single status could harm book sales offers to hire an actor to play her devoted boyfriend. Penelope promptly rejects the offer just in time for her dear friend Colin Bridgerton to waltz in and volunteer for the position.
The question plaguing Penelope is whether she can survive six months of fake dating Colin “the love of her life” Bridgerton.
Neither of them realize that the real question is whether Colin Bridgerton can survive six months of fake dating his best friend.

Summary
After twenty years of shared secrets and whispers. Penelope and Colin are officially leaning into their "hag era" with a marriage of convenience. At thirty-eight and forty-three, they’ve traded the pressure of the marriage mart for a comfortable pact: she gets a travel partner to spice up her retired-Whistledown life, and he finally gets the constant companion he’s been chasing across four continents. It’s a perfectly sensible, purely practical arrangement... isn't it?
A mix of book and show Polin because I'm a sucker for them.

Summary
“Then how, pray tell, do we have an entire garden’s worth of flowers inside this house?”
“How else?” Varley snorted, pouring the milk into her cup. “The caller, ma’am.”
Ah, the caller. At the very beginning of the social season, on the day the debutantes were presented to Her majesty, the calls started pouring in. Every morning and every afternoon, there would be three sharp knocks on their front door, soon followed by their butler saying, “My apologies, Mr. Bridgerton. Miss Penelope is yet to receive calls.”
or, where colin keeps calling on and get turned away by penelope and portia actually jumps in to become a good mother.
