One of the most beautifully drawn comics out there. The lighting alone is enough. The story itself understands the power the hobbits hold more than anything else I've seen. This is picking up what Tolkien put down.

I transcribed the entire BBC radio play of I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream since I couldn't find a script anywhere. I added some stage directions/audio queues but probably not as many as there should be. The format might be a little sloppy, but y'all can fix that in your own typeset. The play's free on Youtube for anyone that wants to listen to it.

    Summary

It’s almost worse, Jotaro thinks, that Kakyoin actually means it. Kakyoin really literally actually wants to go on a roadtrip vacation to tour and sightsee with the guy he tried to assassinate and who then proceeded to beat him unconscious.

What the fuck is wrong with this guy.

Jotaro Kujo’s no good, very bad road trip to hell Dio’s mansion with Evil Kakyoin.

Or, the one where Kakyoin arrives to kill Jotaro before Joseph and Avdol can arrive to explain things, confusion ensues, and Kakyoin and Jotaro make their merry way to Egypt before anyone can figure out what’s happening at all.

'“It’s not a fucking transaction, Kakyoin!” Jotaro snarls, stepping forward. Hierophant’s tendrils lash out warningly, making deep gouges in the wall. He wants to play that way? Fine. Star Platinum surges into existence as well, fists raised, hungry fire in its eyes. “And even if I did want to make friends with someone, it certainly wouldn’t be with someone constantly keeping records on the book!”
“You bastard,” says Kakyoin. “You don’t get it at all. Any relationship if a give-and-take, and if you can’t see that, well, no wonder you’ve always been alone!”'

You know a story is good when it makes you reevaluate how you treat people and are treated in relationships. Legit changed my world view, made me laugh out loud on a bus, and stare at the wall for 30min pondering the conflicting philosophies of these two characters. One of the best written on this site, whenever I'm having a bad week I try and reread it. I really like how the author changes the characters without changing their drive. Despite going in the complete opposite direction as their cannon counterparts both Jojo and Kakyoin's actions feel logical and (though their eyes) understandable. I sometimes get pulled out of a story when decisions come out of left field, but that never happened here since it was so well written that it did not seem out of place. And holy shit does this author know what theyre doing when it comes to characterization. Not only that, but the way fight scenes are used to define personalities and motivation is next level. Side note: this author is also really good at writing dynamic fight scenes. I was repeatedly impressed by how easy it was to visualize the fights and how well they were described and paces. A really good story all in all. It took me a reread to notice that this version of Jotaro is trans (because I'm illiterate), but once I read back through it was kinda crazy how well that was handled. It's mentions so casually that I didn't notice it at first, but it's always there. Its both one of the defining things in his life and so integral that its not worth mentioning. Just like me frfr. I appreciated that. Anyway, story is amazing writing is incredible characters are really well done themes are on point. 10/10. The author seems to have moved on to other things so I don't think itll get finished but whats there now is more than enough to shoot it right into the s tier. Wishing them the best of luck in all the things they do and hoping they are using their amazing talent to do something they love.

    Summary

    Homecoming AU.

Ben and May divorced before Peter’s parents died, so when Ben is murdered Peter goes into foster care. It takes just a tiny taste of superpowers for Peter to decide he doesn’t want to put up with his horrible foster father anymore—the streets are infinitely more appealing. All he wants is to be Spider-Man anyway.

    So he leaves.

    Simple.

Simple, that is, until Iron Man needs Spider-Man’s help. Peter isn’t about to turn down an opportunity to fight alongside Tony Freaking Stark, but he also isn’t going to let his hero know that his recruit is a fifteen-year-old homeless dropout. So they strike a deal. Peter will help Tony. In return, the mask stays on.

And that’s when things get complicated.

"Peter Parker looks just enough like his CPS photo to be recognizable. But where the kid in that file was scrawny, rumpled, miserable-looking (Of course he was you goddamn idiot, Tony thinks, that photo was taken right after his uncle died), this slightly-older Peter just looks wrecked."

Probably one of the best written stories on this site. Uses the Steve Wescott lore maturely and makes the victims involved behave understandably. Holy shit does this author nail characterization.
