In King's Landing, dragons made skies of fire. The Targaryens were feared for their bond with those beasts; fire and fury set 'em apart.
Rhaelys Targaryen was admired by the court: elegant, generous, able to make stern lords forget their worries. Called "Scaleless Targaryen", her egg turned to stone at birth, and she never could claim a dragon. But in her blood, she was a dragon. Dragons don't forget kindness... nor wrongs. Rhaelys felt their flames devouring all, in a dance that'd set brother against brother.
Daemon was promised to her. She refused, she wouldn't let her grandsire decide her future again. But all knew they'd been close since childhood.
When the realm consented to their union, they granted 'em power beyond Old Valyria… mastery over dragons. In war, that skill decides kingdoms' fates. So during the dance, the realm's eyes turned to them; for in Valyria's chronicles, wars of Dragon's Dogma ended in ashes and blood.

Lethe has known her fate from the moment she'd been born. Each and every person who carried the same last name ended up either dead, or as one of Navarre's elite. With a bloodline of dragon riders, it had been obvious which path she would aspire to take; she was quick-witted and able to play the longer, deadlier games. She has always been her father's daughter, and the lure of dragon back beckoned her just as it once did him. Only, their family was very small in number now, and she was the last one capable of defending their name, thus her family's legacy rested solely in her hands.
To fail, means to diminish the Drascars' reputation. Fortunately for Lethe, failure has never been an option.
