Summary
By the time Kleya gets to the beat-up Imperial shuttle on the tarmac, the sun has begun to peek over the horizon. Cassian is stripping off his wet gloves and coat and tossing them into a duffel at his feet. A young woman, shabbily dressed — Jyn Erso, according to Kleya’s decoding — is being escorted by Cassian’s KX unit away from the ship, towards the temple. Is she being debriefed by the Council? Best of luck to her.

Summary
By the time Vi punches their way out of Powder’s boarded-up, grimy, charred-black lair, dawn is breaking in the distance. She’s got Caitlyn securely under her arm, her sister is gone, Silco is dead, and she has no fucking clue what to do.
“Topside,” Caitlyn grits out. “We have to get home, now.”

Summary
The rain.
It came in waves, pounding the grass flat and sweeping the pavement, leaving muddy puddles where it washed the dust to the ground. Wind rustled through leaves and grass and through screens, thrown open in a desperate attempt to catch any hint of breeze.
“Damn,” Zach said. He pulled at his tank top. “Now it’s fucking humid.”

Alex looked at Zach, then at the clock. It read 9:50. “The night is so fucking young,” he said. “Let’s – I don’t know. Let’s do something.”

Summary
He's Hikaru at home. On the Enterprise, at Starfleet, he's Sulu or Mr. Sulu or sir, depending on rank and degree of familiarity, but when he's home – at their dinner table, playing with Demora, in Ben's arms - he's just Hikaru. He has never felt anything more freeing than this, the feeling of loving and being loved, being part of a family, a husband, a father.
He wants, helplessly, to be allowed to stay for longer than the meager eighteen months they've been given.

They’re three pages deep in the glossary of an organic chemistry textbook, the last day before Ransom’s exam, and he’s keyed up enough that he’s come all the way around the other side and has begun what Holster calls the Cuddling Phase.

Summary
“Max,” Furiosa says, sharply, and that somehow jerks him back to reality, like her voice is a lifeline. He clings to it. Watches her, a little bit distant and surreal, as she reaches down to his elbow and pulls out the needle. Blood trickles down his arm. “You’ve lost too much blood. Fool, listen to me. You’ve given enough.”

Summary
"You wanna go for a drive?"
She snorts, but it’s half-hearted; she’s already pushing back the covers, careful not to disturb Sam. “It’s two in the morning,” she says incredulously. She pushes back her hair from her face, leans down to shove her socked feet into her Converse and laces them up tight. “Do you do this a lot? Go on spontaneous roadtrips?”
Dean laughs. “Nah,” he says. “But I know a good sight-seeing place, like, ten minutes from here.”

Summary
“Hey, Cas,” Dean says, quiet. It’s strangely intimate in the kitchen, the clock reading a little past one a.m., with the lights turned off and nothing but the soft glow of Castiel’s grace suffusing the kitchen with light. Dean takes the seat to Castiel’s right, and his hand drops from his shoulder. Instantly, foolishly, he misses its warmth. “Couldn’t sleep?”

Summary
First light comes far too quickly for comfort, painting the horizon a bloody red. "A good sign," Lexa says. She is tossing a spear up and down, up and down, to the rhythm of their marching feet. "Red sunrise makes for an auspicious battle."

Summary
“What’re you writing?” he asks, now, standing at the end of Cas’ bed. Cas is smudging pencil all across the paper, and he keeps stopping to shake out his hands. There is a graphite stain on his cheekbone, and his fingertips are darkened with pencil lead; Dean thinks about going to him and wiping it off, thinks about cradling his cheek, kissing him. He thinks about Cas’ pencil smudged hands leaving dusty prints on his skin.

Summary
“The question still remains,” Charles said, icily, “as to what we’re to talk about. Are you here to talk shop? To seduce my students to your cause? To try and seduce me to your cause? Which you already tried, may I remind you, a year and three months—oh, Jesus, Erik.”
Magneto pulled away, eyes dark, an inch from his face. “Chess?” he suggested.
“Was that an innuendo?”
