What Mark Scout didn’t hope post-Lumon life would be: the searing pain of new memories bursting from his eyelids into brilliant, white light – an endless labyrinth of walls and numbers, fear and wonder. And it certainly didn’t take place at his sister’s house, with the shrill cries of an infant ringing in his ears and Ricken, of all people, holding a cold compress to his forehead. The worst part about it? He found that he craved the attention from Ricken, a tender touch and attention to his pain. His innie had to be here too.

“Enough questions.” Feyd snarled lowly, taking a step toward Paul, his biceps rippling with restrained force. “What have you to say, Atreides?”
“You are… Were part of something much greater than you were led to believe. You have earned your place among my people by proving your loyalty, but... I need more than loyalty.” Paul’s tone was at the edge of the intricate rug that adorned the floor, tugging at a loose thread.
Feyd’s anger went as soon as it came. He was intrigued, gaze leaping around Paul’s face as he remained silent, waiting for more.
“I desire your devotion. As it should have been if my mother hadn’t chosen love over the Sisterhood.” Paul stated, eyes now glimmering, reflecting the warm hue of the floating glowglobes.

Feyd heard The Voice in the swimming liquid even before it erupted from Paul’s mouth, the command squirming low in the Harkonnen’s gut and bursting forth with a twitch of his hairless brow.
Paul’s hand tightened around the knife. Feyd’s breathing slowed. Every muscle in his disciplined body tightened, and his mind scraped upon the memory of the box, the gom jabbar at his throat as the Lady Fenring urged him to kneel at her feet.
“You fought well, Atreides.” Feyd’s voice slipped through the cracks of his craving, gravely and hoarse.

His lips were pressed together in a thin line, knuckles nearly white with the force to which he had his hands folded. Your eyes widened slightly. You hadn’t looked at Ominis after Sebastian struck you with the Cruciatus Curse, but you could now imagine the look of pure anger on his face in the Scriptorium. The guilt of doing what Ominis begged you and Sebastian not to held your throat closed afterwards. It seemed to hurt just as much as the seething torture that lit your nerves on fire.
“He shouldn’t be hurting you. Not after all you’ve done for him. Not after any of it.”
