Summary
He clicked his fingers again. As Ed watched, Stede’s robe and slippers disappeared, replaced by a pair of short trousers that ended at the knee, where they were tucked into a pair of sturdy leather boots. He had a loose, slightly grubby-looking shirt, with loose strings at the collar, and the look was finished by a thick belt from which hung a cutlass at one side, and a flintlock pistol at the other. One eye was concealed behind a leather patch that had been tied on by a strap around his head.
Ed looked down to check his own attire, and found himself wearing a close approximation of his old Blackbeard clothes, leather trousers and jacket. He reached up to touch his face, half-expecting his beard to have grown long, but he found it exactly as he had left it. No eyepatch for him either.
Put us back how we were,” he said.
NotStede shook his head. “But you’re pirates,” he said. “You should look like pirates!”
Ed and Stede are visited by a man who looks like Stede, thinks pirates are absolutely brilliant, and loves a good wedding. A sort of crossover with Star Trek Strange New Worlds, featuring Rhys's character, Trelane.

Ed was still staring at the bell as though he didn’t know what to make of it. “A fucking cat collar?” he asked. “Because I’m so ‘catlike’?”
“Well, it’s not actually a cat collar. I mean, this would be far too big for the average cat, and so would the bell.” Stede frowned. “In fact, I’m not sure who this was actually made for.”
“Yeah, might be best not to think about that.”
“No. No, maybe not.”
Ed reached out and tapped the bell with the tip of his fingernail, and it chimed again. He grimaced. “That’s going to be annoying,” he said.

Stede has successfully convinced the crew to take Ed back, now he just has to break the news to Ed about those conditions he's going to need to agree to. -

Stede smiled, then pulled his hand away and instead leaned in to press his lips against the scar instead. “It’s nerve damage, you know,” he murmured as he pulled back. “It’s unpredictable like that."
Ed rolled his eyes. “Yeah I know,” he said. “But I wasn’t going to go around saying it. Makes it all kinds of unsexy.”
“Right. Sorry."
“No, ‘sfine. For the best probably. Every time I see that scar I think of Ned Low anyway, and there’s nothing sexy about that fucker.”
---
Ed and Stede both have very different feelings about those matching scars.

Ed began to move his thumb in slow, lazy circles on the back of Stede’s hand. “No, come on, you’ve got me doing all the work here, it’s your turn to think of something,” he said.
Stede glanced around the room with a thoughtful expression. “Well, I don’t really know,” he said. “Some comfortable seating, certainly. A wardrobe big enough for the both of us. Oh, here’s an idea; how about we have a little bowl of lollies on the front desk?”
“Uh… what? What for?”
Stede frowned. “What do you mean ‘what for’? For the guests. I’ve been in places that do that, and it always seems like a really nice gesture.”
Ed nodded. “I think they’re meant to be mints, mate.”
“They can be mints."
“And I think they go on the pillows.”
Ed and Stede try to discuss their plans for the the inn.

Summary
Edward "Blackbeard" Teach has been a writer for decades, and what had once been thrilling and edgy as he specialized in underground erotic short stories that fixated on BDSM, kink and exploration has become little more than a grind. And not a fun one. Living mostly anonymously through his pen name, he's had enough of a career he started out of a desire to express himself and is looking for something more.
A chance recognition in a tea shop brings him eye to eye with Stede Bonnet, a man that found himself in the pages of a book that Ed had viewed as a dead dream.

Summary
Ed says to him, "You should be a stand-up comedian."
Stede blinks back at him. "You think?"
"Eh," Ed shrugs, cocking his head to the side as if he's deep in thought. "Maybe not. You'd meet too many hecklers. You'd hate the hecklers."
"Well, no! No I wouldn't, 'cause you wouldn't be able to hear the hecklers over my sounds."
"What the fuck? What are your sounds?"
Stede screws up his face and starts to make noises unlike anything Ed's ever heard. There are bird warbles and drum beats and some weird whistles that Ed can't even begin to describe. They're funny, though. They pull a laugh from deep inside of him despite the mountain of anxiety it had to overcome to get outside of him. He feels a little lighter, seeing Stede make these ridiculous sounds. It almost gives him hope for the future.
Eventually, when Stede goes a little red in the face, he stops to regain his breath. Ed kisses his nose. "You're right - I wouldn't be able to hear a heckler over that."

Summary
He’s alone. The realization only now began to sink in. He would never see his family again. Satine's enchanting smile. Anakin's gleam in his eyes when he spoke of tinkering on his droids. Ahsoka's glowing presence in the Force. They were all gone. The only thing that remained was this endless darkness.

Summary
Set after season 2. When the English come for the remaining pirates, they find hostages readily available in one Widow Bonnet and her family. With Stede's family in custody, his ex-wife under a death threat, the peace that Ed and Stede had found is finally shattered apart. And something is stirring in those depths, a desperation and darkness to do whatever it takes to save what is Stede's. The Kraken isn't the only creature stirring in the deep.
-----
Ever since the scene of Stede pinning Doug with a knife and growling "unhand me or bleed" I really felt that little glimpse of darkness really needed to be properly explored. Buckle up for a ride.
