Pumping the last of his chakra into a hidden seal, Kakashi watches Obito’s expression crumple in horror. His rinnegan widens, trying to put Kakashi back into a genjutsu-induced sleep, or do anything at all to nullify the seal and the chakra loss, but it's too late. Kakashi’s own sharingan rotates at a brain-splitting speed, immortalising his best friend’s wretched expression forever before his vision whites out.
But—
But then he's staring at the ceiling of his childhood bedroom, holding his breath and waiting to bleed out from a stomach wound that doesn’t exist.

Haise looked down at what remains of the cup in his hands. The shards poked at his skin, not quite piercing. This cup — this last remnant of Anteiku set aside for a ghost — was gone, crushed by his hands. Haise stood up, suddenly unable to continue this conversation. “Excuse me.”
“So you don't even consider me worth having a conversation with?” Kuki's lip curled with an ugly emotion. Tooru grabbed his arm in warning. Haise looked at them both, his words and feelings a knot in his throat, and then walked into the back of :re.

——Kaneki, a third-year, is infatuated with a second-year by the name of Touka. He doesn't know the whirlwind of a world he's getting into.
As the CCG sinks its claws into Hide, his worldview warps, and he starts seeing his best friend in a different light.
