Agatha smiled like a cat stretching out in a sunbeam. “So, answer a few things for me. Just for fun.” Agatha leaned in closer, the tips of their shoes brushing now. “Would you rather lose your sense of taste... or touch?”
Suspicion flickered in Rio’s brow. “Taste,” she said slowly, “easily.”
Agatha didn’t stop. “Have you ever lied to me?”
Rio’s heart kicked against her ribs, almost loud enough to drown out the music. “…Yes,” she whispered.
"Did you feel bad about it?”
The question was gentler. Sadder, somehow. “Yes.”
“Why do you lie then?”
“I…” Rio faltered, blinked. “I don’t know. Fear, maybe.”
“Do you think about kissing me?”
Rio’s breath stuttered.
“It’s okay,” Agatha murmured. “Why don’t you?” Another silence. This one louder. Agatha’s voice dropped to a whisper, low and dark and protective. “That’s okay. You don’t have to answer everything.”Bookmarked by pv2011

This didn’t feel like dinner conversation. This felt like a twenty-shots deep in the bathroom of a nightclub conversation.
“I preferred when we were talking about football.”
“And I prefer when we talk about us.”
Brown eyes never left grey, and a sick feeling twisted Agatha’s stomach.
The boundaries of friendship and the push. That was their relationship in a nutshell. They didn’t talk about the blur of lines or the kissing or the fucking. And now Rio wanted to talk about love?
“Win the Euros.”
Rio’s eyebrows furrowed. “What-”
“Win the Euros,” Agatha repeated. “Then you’ll get your answer.”
OR: it's the 2025 Women's Euros and Barcelona teammates Rio Vidal and Agatha Harkness must go head to head as they compete for their countries. But it's more than that now when Rio presents a question to Agatha that she and the rest of the world want the answer to...is Agatha in love with her? Only a Euros trophy stands in the way of Rio getting that answer.
