Summary
Kento has worked hard to forge an authentic life for himself in Tokyo, and as he falls head over heels for country boy Yoshiki it feels like the next step towards a happiness he never dared imagine for himself.
When Yoshiki tells him about his tragically dead first love, Hikaru, Kento must find the strength to help him heal and move forward. But as the truth unfolds, and he sees the scars 'Hikaru' left in Yoshiki's life, Kento begins to doubt if he and his affection will be enough.
After all, how can he hope to help someone who once loved a monster?
Chapter 3
That tension in his spine only ratcheted tighter and he felt his jaw clench involuntarily. He took a deep steadying breath. "You know, when you brought me here I really thought you wanted me to understand you better, but all I've gotten is myths and obfuscation and stories meant to scare little kids out of the forest. So if you could just—"Yoshiki leapt to his feet, aghast. "I am trying to let you in! It's not a fucking metaphor, Kento."
