Bradley took a deep breath, steeling himself, then spoke. “You and I didn’t talk for enough years that you missed my big announcement back in 2012.”
It was Pete’s turn to raise his eyebrows, “And that was?”
“That I, personally, was super-excited about ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ being abolished.” Rooster smiled weakly. “I’m gay.” He did a sad version of jazz hands.
The two of them sat in silence for a moment, Maverick staring wide-eyed at Rooster. After a minute of no talking, Bradley broke the quiet, rushing in with, “So yeah, I like Phoenix a lot. She’s smart and fun. But she’s missing some important parts. At least for me. I think Coyote is okay with that, though.”
