Summary
Spring, 1916.
The Great War has ground into a stalemate. Hundreds of thousands bleed and die in the trenches of France and Flanders, Russia and the Balkans, the Alps and and the Caucuses. In a desperate bid to break the dreadlock, the German Empire turns to the sea, hoping against hope to break the Royal Navy's blockade and reopen their ports to badly needed neutral trade. But with the German High Seas Fleet all but comically outnumbered and outgunned by the British Grand Fleet, it would take a miracle for Admirals Franz Hipper and Reinhard Scheer to emerge victorious.
But perhaps the glowing blue cubes that they've received from Kaiser Wilhelm II can provide just such a miracle...
Or: the Battle of Jutland. With anime boat waifus.

Summary
Germany won World War I.
In the decades since, a lot has happened, shaping the world of Azur Lane into a far different one than the one we know. Plans have changed. Allegiances have shifted. Pact have been made and broken. The world of Kaiser Lane was not forged overnight.
These are the stories of what forged it.
Or: I decided that it would be far better for my writing if I had somewhere separate to keep all my worldbuilding and backstory so that readers didn't have to get through a dozen pages of exposition every chapter. A collection of shorter stories covering the gap between the Kaiser Lane world's Point of Divergence and its present, showing, for instance, how Repulse wound up a violent warmongering Revolutionary or why Hipper's a full blown Battleship.

Summary
Azur Lane is an international alliance consisting of four major and a half-dozen minor factions, each with their own histories, cultures, languages, political ideologies and combat doctrines. To say that there's friction between the organization's different member Fleets would be an understatement of the highest order.
Sometimes, there are arguments that threaten the very foundations of the organization: disputes that date back decades, if not centuries, coming to a head, irreconcilable differences that could very well tear Azur Lane apart.
And sometimes, there are arguments about the ridiculously mundane stuff, like what brand of instant coffee should be stocked in the canteen.
These are snippets from the latter times.

Summary
Middle Earth, 3019 TA. Durin's Bane and Gandalf battle atop the Zirakzigil. Their desperate duel is about to unleash something beyond either of their comprehension.
Europe, 1200 AD. The Papacy assembles the Fourth Crusade, even as the Holy Roman Empire is torn apart by a vicious succession crisis. France and England skirmish over Normandy, while German Knights work to bring Christendom to the continent's last Pagan holdouts in the Baltic. The Byzantine Empire decays, and the Merchants of Venice plot to expand their maritime trade empire. But a crisis from beyond their world is about to strike, one that could destroy the entire continent and beyond...AKA that story where Sauron ends up invading Medieval Europe.

Summary
Over the last three years, 29 Youtubers have disappeared. 24 of them have died (22 of them permanently), and the survivors have been left with permanent scars.
The story of those three Nights and those that Escaped them is well told.
The story of the families and communities and friendships torn apart by these so-called "Slaughterings" are not.
Until Now.
Or: I noticed that almost all the EtN fanfics on this site focused almost exclusively on the Guests and rarely touched on how the outside world (especially their loved ones and communities would react) to this kind of crisis, and I decided to fix that. This fic centers around the outside world during the events of EtN Season 3, both during the period when the Guests have "been kidnapped" and after their return, such as the search for the missing Youtubers, their funerals and trying to find some form of closure. Not necessarily in chronological order.
Ideas welcome.

Summary
The year is AD 3019. Atop Durin's Tower, Gandalf the Grey and the Bane of Durin do battle, neither of them aware of what their desperate struggle is about to unleash. Meanwhile, far across Creation, the year is AD 1200. The Lords of the Holy Roman Empire bicker and squabble about who will ascend to claim the title of Emperor, while Alexios III Angelos struggles to hold onto power in the weakening Byzantine Empire. Muhammad al-Nasir, Caliph of the Almohads, basks in the fruits of his nation's hard-won prosperity, and Pope Innocent III continues to make calls for a new Crusade to reclaim the Holy Land. They, too, have no idea of the struggle that they are about to face.
Two worlds are about to collide, with the fate of both hanging in the balance. The great tribulation is beginning, and the Free Peoples of both Middle-earth and Europe are about to face their greatest challenge. Faiths will be strained. Strengths will be tested. The whole of Creation now must come together against the Dark Lord. Can they stand against the Shadows? Or is all doomed to fall before Sauron?
