    Satoru dies.

    Well, kinda. He comes back.

    It takes a little bit of time to process everything that happens between dying and then suddenly not, which can’t happen in the middle of the fight. He’s left Suguru alone with Fushiguro Toji too long already.

    It’s not until after—after Amanai Riko is dead, and humans are clapping, and Suguru says there’s no meaning in that. After the strongest duo learns strongest doesn’t mean invulnerable in the most visceral way possible. Only then does Satoru sit and process.

    Eleven years. He processes eleven years of a future.
