Summary
The one where the orphaned heiress to an infamous cult who believed that a man cured death is just trying to escape the shadow of her past with as little friction as possible. And the daughter of the man who the aforementioned death cult thought cured death is trying to do the same thing.
Independently of one another.
OR: The one where Gideon and Harrowhark are neighbors in a shitty apartment complex.

Summary
Sometimes they will go for weeks without speaking, tiptoeing passive-aggressively around one another until one of them—usually Griddle—breaks the layer of ice with a bowl of unseasoned rice or the rental of a classic horror film. And then the lid is placed back on the pressure cooker, and the waiting starts all over again.
It usually leads to blows. Sometimes it leads to other things. But it always ends the same way. Someone pulls away, someone tries for the wrong block in the tower, and everything comes clattering down with force.
Or:
The one where Palamedes lends Harrow a book he thinks she might find interesting. It’s not as though she has to tell him if she actually reads it. It’s probably nonsense anyway.

Summary
Ten years ago, Harrowhark Nonagesimus watched Gideon Nav walk through the gates of Drearburh for the last time. Presumably, never to see her again. After eighteen years of hatred and consistency—and then a few weeks of something else entirely—Harrow must live a life she once thought inconceivable. But she made her choice, just as Gideon made hers.
And never the twain shall meet.
But ten years later, Harrow's coworker-turned-frenemy-with-benefits makes her an offer she can't refuse. And things get unimaginably worse from there.

Summary
“Harrowhark,” says Father Gaius, rolling the sounds around his mouth with the air of an unintentionally patronizing uncle. “That’s quite a…vivid name.”
“It reflects my late parents’ wish for me to free their community from the hell of Earthly temptation before the new millennium,” she explains in a deadened tone. If the pastor correctly hears free as a euphemism for lead in mass suicide, he gives no indication. “They believed my birth was prophesied.”
“Now, that would have been an interesting tidbit to list in your qualifications.” He grins, brandishing her resumé; when the joke falls utterly flat, his grin falters into something more pathetic. “The charismatics do tend to get carried away, don’t they.”
In the year 2000, Harrow gets a job at John Gaius's church, meets his handsome and pious daughter, and things go to Hell in a handbasket.

Summary
There’s something flickering and humming about the edges of their irises now, something changing, a carousel of her-him-her-him. Pyrrha pushes against their shoulders and they sink back against the concrete with Hect’s grace and blink up at her with Sextus’ owlishness.
‘You idiots,’ Pyrrha mutters, hovering on her elbows above them. ‘You idiots.’
They grin - a great, foolish, happy grin – and it’s that happiness that does it, the ease of it, the truth. Pyrrha laughs, longer and freer than she has in a long time, kisses first the tip of their nose and then their mouth again. They hum, grin wider, those happy young fools.

Summary
“Fuck, it’s that bad?”
“Worse,” Pyrrha says. “But you should take it. It’s a career-starter if I’ve ever seen one. Nine weeks on the West leg of the tour, opening for a First House band.”
“Say the name. Say the name right now. Say the name of the band, say the name. Dve, say the name of the band.”
“SARPEDON,” Pyrrah says, with the reluctance of someone speaking the name of a long-forgotten god whose dedicants worship by pissing just left of the toilet.Nine weeks touring with a nu-metal band they hate. How bad could things possibly get for the Rocked Tomb? Drummer Gideon Nav, bassist-vocalist Harrowhark Nonagesimus, keyboardist Palamedes Sextus, and guitarist Camilla Hect are determined to find out.
This fic is complete, and will update every Tuesday.

Summary
"Oh, it's easy," said the Princess of Ida breezily. [...] "You cut up an onion, burn it at the bottom of the pot, put in a few vegetables, and then some meat. It won't taste like anything, so put in a few teaspoons of salt, and then it'll taste like a few teaspoons of salt."
Or, Ianthe writes a recipe blog.
