Rimmer, mourning the loss of his chance at love with Nirvanah Crane, finds himself mourning something, or someone, else entirely. Unfortunately, he has no smegging clue what it is, except for a vague feeling that his world was shifted slightly to the left and something was missing. And when the Cat comes barging in monologuing on how Lister and Kryten "smell off", citing his nose and instincts, Rimmer has to grapple with the possibility of the existence of a Lister who sees past his smeg and thinks of him, dare he say, fondly.
