“We were about to go out looking for you guys,” Orym looks both exhausted and relieved in equal turns, “Glad you both made it back alright.”
Imogen gives him an apologetic smile as she slips her gloves back on. “Sorry for worryin’ you, Laud and I got a little lost in the woods.”
She hears Ashton snort out a chuckle. “More like you got a ‘little lost’ in each other,” they muse, “We all saw those crazy hickeys.”
Imogen flushes, deep and dark, the pretty pink nearly obscuring the freckles in her cheeks. “Ashton Greymoore, you—!”
A cool hand slips into her own and the delicate squeeze of slender fingers immediately derails her attention. Laudna smiles down at her, eyes soft and shiny like ink, before she turns to the others and her grin widens. “I would say it’s more like we ‘found’ each other,” she corrects, voice a calming rasp, “Wouldn’t you agree, darling?”
Imogen’s embarrassment and irritation extinguishes like a candle in the rain, and a helplessly fond smile rises to her lips. “Yeah, I guess you could say that.”Bookmarked by summer_rain99

Summary

“I know,” Imogen murmurs, “I know. But I was wrong. Alright?” She tangles her fingers in Laudna’s hair, scratching softly at the back of her neck. “Things were different and I was so wrong.”
Laudna says her name again, but it's rife with nerves. Imogen's tongue darts out to wet her lower lip and she almost misses the moment when Laudna’s tempted to chase it. Almost.
