Summary
Louisiana, 1973. Louis de Pointe du Lac struggles after the death of his brother. Unable to move past the sense of guilt, a bottle and a bunch of bad decisions has lead to institutionalisation in some shitty joke of a hospital. With a stubbornness his father would be proud of, Louis refuses to allow himself to get better, despite the best efforts of his mildly attractive psychiatrist and a well-meaning but highly annoying young nurse. Comfortable in his self-imposed prison, Louis has no desire to get better. Things change with the arrival of a loud, egotistical Frenchman who is determined to draw everyone into his orbit.
