Three years after Jinx's fatal attack on the Council, the city of Zaun is in worse straits than ever. Struck with a suffocating embargo and with its citizens and merchants terrorized by a brutal new gang lord, the city is desperate for something, anything to change.
Martin, a young Zaunite thief, goes on a heist to steal a shipment of Hextech, only to have it all go wrong at the hands of Jinx, who has returned to her old stomping grounds after several years of absence. As Jinx and Martin start to team up to perform ever more daring robberies, they begin running afoul of the various factions in the two cities, incurring the wrath of ever-more-powerful enemies. Their partnership soon becomes to a struggle for survival.

“I’m sorry you’re hurting.” Beatrice's guilt was written plainly on her face. “I wish there was something I could do to help.”
Ava paused. She had an idea.
“Well, I can think of one thing that’ll help.” Ava paused for dramatic effect. “You could give me…a massage?”
“You want me to give you a massage?” Beatrice repeated back to her, voice unreadable.
“Um, yes?” Ava gave her a small, hopefully convincing smile. “I mean, I don’t want to play the blame game, but it is kind of your fault I’m in this state. You made me climb a mountain.”
“It was a rock,” Beatrice pointed out. “But, yes, I suppose you’re right. I didn’t think it would take this much out of you, but apparently–”
“Okay, now you’re just being rude.”
Beatrice’s smile peaked through. “Maybe.”
“So…”
“Yes, Ava. I’ll give you a massage.”
