Summary
“Should call you the Ottawa Puppies,” says the Toronto centre, Svensson. As an insult it makes no sense, so Ilya ignores it, until he continues, “Hear Hollander keeps you on a short leash.”
Ilya is the captain, so if anything, he should be holding the leash. In English, you can be singular or plural, but he knows what Svensson is trying to say. He is saying Ilya Rozanov, you are Hollander’s bitch.
“Only sometimes,” Ilya replies, grinning. He wins the face off.
OR: Ilya trains himself to be a very, very good guard dog for Shane.

Summary
Ilya’s eyes drag over him, starting from his head, to his jersey-clad upper body, down to his bare thighs. He’s not wearing any underwear, but the shirt is long enough to hide it. Ilya’s gaze darkens ravenously as he lets his gym bag slip from his shoulder to the floor with a dull thud. His eyes travel up again, catching on the number stamped on the arm of jersey, the C on the front. “What’s this?” he questions.

Summary
On the wall, directly above Ilya’s bed, is a 3-foot-wide framed poster of Shane being held back by his teammates, eyebrows knitted into a scowl as he hurls taunts at Scott Hunter. Shane blinks, because there’s not a chance in hell this is real.
He whirls on Ilya, who doesn’t look fazed in the slightest.
“What the fuck is this?”
OR - Ilya is a little too happy when he sees Shane get into a fight with Scott Hunter on live TV. He's maybe a bit turned on, too.

Summary
Ilya’s hand wraps around his bare wrist and squeezes. Shane barely stops himself from collapsing to his knees.
The pressure lights up every receptor of his touch-starved nervous system, wrenching a small, pained noise from the back of his throat. Every muted sensation comes flooding back so intensely that it almost hurts. He needs Ilya to hold him down until there’s nothing inside him but quiet. He wants to sink into him and disappear.
It takes Shane an entire beat to remember where they are. Fighting against the fog in his mind, he manages to drag his gaze up to meet Ilya’s.
There’s a slow-dawning horror and understanding on Ilya’s face.
Or: Shane is in subdrop after their encounter in Vegas. Ilya fixes it.
