Summary
Harry was always in Number 4 Privet Drive.
It's rough and cruel, but, still, Harry cannot complain. That is, until Uncle Vernon takes it too far. Laying on the floor, Harry wakes up to a completely new environment. Now he is rendered blind, and his roommate Tom Riddle switches from liking to hating him every moment. With every step, something is thrown his way. He can't be sure of his parentage, his surroundings, or even his own appearance. How will he possibly survive?

Summary
In a different world, where everything happens slightly later, Harry is born in the 2000s and never receives his Hogwarts letter. He lives life like a normal muggle until on his 17th birthday, he's kicked out by the Dursley's. But on his way to crash at a friend's, he gets a different type of crash. As in a bus hitting him.
He wakes up in an odd looking hospital and oddly dressed people. Turns out he's been transported to the 1940s, and not only that, but magic is real!
Because of legal issues he doesn't pay attention to, he's shipped off to Hogwarts with a vague backstory and left to fend for himself, hopefully not breaking up the timeline in the process.or
Gen z Harry Potter dumped into the 1940s wizarding world and he's going to make it everyone's problem.

What if timing had been just a bit different? Where the Weasleys got a ticket to Egypt several years earlier, Sirius escapes when Harry is just about to turn ten, and when he visits him to find he's in the care of the Dursleys, what godfather would leave him there?
With no one from before the war to go to, however, Sirius can only think of one person who can fill all the requirements: Someone he can contact or find, someone who can heal both of them, someone who won't tell the wizarding world that Harry is gone from it's muggle version, and someone who cared for Harry's parents the same way Sirius did. Or at very least, cared for one of them enough to get involved to stop Harry's abuse.
The only one who checks off all the boxes, though, is none other than Severus Snape. -
