Enciodes opened the bedroom door, and sighed as he was greeted by its dark emptiness. The room was just as he’d left it this morning, other than the made bed: the lights off, the nightstands tidied and bearing no recent trace of anyone’s touch, no clothes or teacups or notes, not even a stray shed feather hiding beneath the bed skirt or under a pillow.
Of course Gnosis wasn’t here: Gnosis was up in the mountains in the Rhine facility, because he was practically living there lately. It’d been at least two weeks since he’d last set foot in the mansion.
