    Eddie and Christopher both always made time for Buck in their busy lives. They never got annoyed when he’d go off on a research tangent, they didn’t ever seem to find him to be ‘too much’ or do anything to avoid or dismiss him. Whenever Buck was with them, he felt like he belonged, like he was at home; but Buck had been around long enough to know that nothing lasts. That people get tired of him, that they grow apart from him or past him.

    Now, perhaps that wouldn’t happen with Eddie and Chris, perhaps they would be the exception to that time-tested theory.
    But it never hurt to have insurance.
