Chapter Text
In the small cramped apartment the ticking of the clock mounted on Yoongi's wall is all that is heard in the entire room. The slow ticks of the clock lulls Yoongi to sleep as he was working on another melody for a song to sell. He knew music was his passion and one day believed to own his own record label but for now he was starting from the bottom. It didn't phase Yoongi really, since it only drove him to keep going. He also worked another job in an office as a telemarketer persuading people into buying useless products from his affiliated company.
Just as Yoongi was entering into a deep sleep already feeling his body light and muscles fully relax, he hears loud banging on his door. Yoongi flashes his eyes wide open startled by the sudden noise. At first he thought it was the thunder outside since it had been raining all day, but when the loud banging happens again Yoongi is quick on his feet. He checks the clock on the wall and it's a little past 2 in the morning. Yoongi mutters obscenities for whoever is on his door step this late at night. He doesn't even check the peep hole just in case it could be some robbers waiting to jump him and rob his home. He hastily opens the door ready to yell at the source of whoever is making loud knocks that are sure to wake up his neighbors as well, but he finds no one except for the ice cold wind that greets his warm skin from being under a bundle of fleece blankets.
Yoongi was about to close the door thinking it could have been stupid high school kids that live on the other side of the apartment complex until he hears soft whines below him. He looks down at his feet and there he spots three small pups huddled together in a basket seeking for warmth. Yoongi is in awe at the little things. He always wanted a dog but never trusted in himself to take care of one. After all, he could barely take care of himself and remember to eat a proper meal in the day. He suddenly is taken out of his awestruck daze with a sudden flush of panic throughout his body.
Who the hell left these defenseless pups out in the cold like this?
Yoongi brings them inside his little warm apartment home and settles them down on his kitchen floor next to the radiator before going back outside in search for the one who left them on his doorstep. He doesn't even grab a coat and dashes outside turning in each direction in hope to find the stranger, but Yoongi doesn't go far because it's pouring heavily and the cold is chilling him to the bone.
"Fuck," he mutters to no one specifically. He doesn't know what to even do in this type of situation. He doesn't know anything about taking care of puppies.
"Well, at least they're not babies," he tries to lighten the matter of the situation and chuckles to himself, "now that would've been much worse."
He walks over into his kitchen grabbing a small towel to dry his wet hair. He hears the soft whines of the pups again and he bends down and coos at the little innocent creatures. Yoongi was always a softie for pups much more of a dog person than a cat person since they would always hiss and try to claw him.
Yoongi scratches the back of the small ear of the fully black colored pup. The little thing licks his finger for Yoongi to keep scratching. Yoongi chuckles, "You're the cutest little thing why would anyone want to leave you."
At that comment the pup whines as if it knows what Yoongi is saying. Yoongi frowns and wants the pups to stop crying and trembling. He tries to pet them all noticing by giving physical attention they calm down a little.
He takes the time to fully take in the appearance of each pup. He already noticed the one he petted first which was all black and had amber colored eyes. Strange, he thought he never seen a dog with such bright colored eyes before. The next pup was laying its head on top of the all black one, nuzzling its nose into its fur. This pup had the lightest fur of them all with a coat of a mocha brown and undertones of golden honey and had grey eyes. The last pup was probably the most hyper of the bunch that kept nipping at the ears of the black hair one who was ignoring the pup that was trying to get some sort of reaction. This pup had a chestnut brown color with hints of red undertones for his fur coat along with green eyes.
Yoongi was smiling to himself on how precious they are. He would have to put up flyers the next day to find their owner who just abandoned them. He was sure they weren't thinking straight to just leave them like this. As Yoongi was about to get up from the floor he saw a sudden glint coming from one of the pups. It was a collar and Yoongi leaned in further to check the tag on the lightest colored pup that most likely had to have the contact info of their owner. As Yoongi was reaching in the black haired pup bit Yoongi's finger and started to yap at him. Yoongi withdrew his hand with an OW! not because it hurt but mostly because he was caught of guard.
"What was that for!?" Yoongi looks down at the pup, "You literally let me pet you a minute ago."
Then Yoongi realized it's defense pose, the pup was on all fours crouched down as if ready to pounce at his next move. It was trying to guard the other pups from him probably thinking he was going to hurt them. Yoongi sighed in frustration he was only trying to help, but he knew better than a dog to understand his actions.
"Look I just wanna help you okay?" Yoongi says lightly hoping to calm the young pup as if to give the impression he won't hurt them.
The young pup seemed to understand as it laid back down within the next minute. Yoongi checks the tag of that pup first.
"Jungkook," Yoongi says softly to himself. Jungkook wags his tail at the sound of his name and Yoongi laughs because just a second ago he bit his finger. Yoongi twisted the tag on the little ball of fur but there was no source of contact information.
"Okay next is you," Yoongi leans into the lightest pup, "Jimin?"
The pup nuzzles into the hand of Yoongi and he realizes the pup is also the smallest of the litter. He could literally carry him in one hand.
"And lastly," he looks for the other pup who has the chestnut colored hair but he is no longer in the basket. Yoongi feels a sudden panic all over again thinking he already lost one of the pups. He then hears soft growls from behind and turns around. He catches the pup in the front of his doorstep where all his shoes are, chewing at his black converse. Yoongi sighs in relief and walks over to pick up the pup.
"I can already tell you're going to give me a hard time," Yoongi looks at the tag, "Taehyung."
Yoongi takes Taehyung back into the basket and they all huddle together once more and fall asleep. Yoongi sighs and is extremely tired from the whole sudden predicament he got himself into. He could have left the pups outside but there was no way that Yoongi would ever do that in his life. Yoongi yawns and heads towards his room flopping himself onto his bed head first into one of his pillows spreading his limbs like a starfish and falls right into a deep sleep. He decided he would deal with this first thing tomorrow when he wakes up.

The next early morning Yoongi is startled awake by loud crying. Yoongi quickly sits up and tries to process what or who the hell is crying. He realizes more than one thing is crying and it's coming from the other room. Yoongi gets up and hurriedly runs into the kitchen where he remembers how he got stuck with three small pups in the middle of the night, but instead of three small pups he remembers, he finds....
"Babies?!" Yoongi yells which only cause the young toddlers to flinch cry more loudly. Yoongi is in full panic mode and doesn't know what the hell to do.
Do I pick them up?
Or let them be?
What the fuck happened to the puppies? Oh my gosh what the fuck is going on?!
Yoongi feels hot tears start to rim his eyes because he is so confused on why he has three small toddlers wailing on his kitchen floor he quickly grabs his phone from the counter and calls the only person he knows who can help him. The other line answers on the first ring.
"Yoongi? Why are you up so early is everything okay?"
"Jiiiiiiiiin hyuuuung" Yoongi lets out a cry sob.
"Yoongi why are you crying?!" Jin's voice blares through the phone speakers.
Yoongi isn't one to cry so easily but he is so confused and filled with panic he doesn't know what else to do but cry. Jin was one of his greatest friends who carried a heart of gold and cared so much for others, he knew Jin would know exactly what to do.
"I have- and then- and now-" Yoongi tries to form sentences but he can barely breathe by his alarmed state.
"Don't worry Yoongi I'm on my way okay!"
Jin hangs up the phone leaving Yoongi on his own again crying along with three other toddlers.
