Chapter 1: Green I
Chapter Text
2016
She was looking at the monitor, watching as the small shape got closer. It wasn't until a few hours later that something landed on Earth's soil. She watched as her agents rushed to the pod that arrived a few miles away. The pod opened, and her eyes landed on a small blond girl.
"Take her."
-
A Year Later
Lillian Luthor looked at the monitor. She could see the little blonde alien huddled up in the corner. She smiled. A kryptonian had her son, her only real child, locked up, then it was only right she kept a kryptonian locked up.
She was about to instruct a new experiment when alarms started going off.
"Incoming," she heard in her ear piece. "We have company coming."
Lillian sighed, rolling her eyes. Those heroes always got in her way. She told her workers to grab what they needed and to get out. She had everything she needed. Taking a step forward, she pressed the green button. She watched as the alien fell to her side, as her room started to glow green. She then pressed the red button, which started a fire in the middle of the lab.
"What about her?" Stevens, one of the scientists, asked, pointing to the little dark haired girl in the other room.
Lillian looked over at Lena, her adopted daughter, her husband's bastard. Lena was coloring in the small room. Alarms were ringing everywhere except in that room. She had never loved that girl, no matter how bright she was. And now that her husband was dead, she could do whatever she wanted with that child. She turned and started to walk away.
"Mrs. Luthor?"
"Leave her. She's not my problem," the woman said, walking away, leaving the little girl behind.
-
Six year old Lena Luthor was starting to get hot. She stood up and walked to the door, knocking on it. "Mommy?"
There was no answer. She tried to look through the window, but she was too small. It was slowly getting harder to breath. She reached for the door handle, but was too hot. Her eyes widened, as she looked around for an escape. Her hands were throbbing from the pain. She whimpered, feeling her eyes widened.
"Mommy!" she cried out, hoping her mother would rescue her. "I'll be good!"
But there was no answer. She let out a cough, followed by a few more. She moved to the corner of the room, hoping for someone to help her. She could feel the sweat on her body, feeling her head start to get light.
The door suddenly burst open. She saw a man in red look around, before seeing her. Within a second, he was in front of her.
"Are you okay?" he asked, looking over the girl.
Lena didn't answer. She stared at the fire out the door.
"Are you okay?" he asked, getting her attention.
Lena looked at him. "Kara?"
"Who?"
"Is Kara safe?"
"I'll find out, okay?" The man told her, giving her a small smile. The man pressed against his ear. "I found a little girl. She says there's another one, did anyone find her?"
Lena watched him.
"Your friend is safe. Why don't I get you out of here?"
Lena nodded her head, leaning against him. She felt him wrap her arms around him. She let her eyes close, feeling safe.
-
Caitlin, or better yet, Killer Frost, could feel the warmth. She walked through the halls, her hands ready to defend herself. She looked in each cell, making sure that Cadmus wasn't hurting anyone. She was about to leave when she heard a sound in one of the cells. She stopped, seeing a green glow.
"Hello?" Frost called out, her voice echoing as it usually did.
She heard a whimper.
Frost looked into the cell, to see a little girl, no more than four, in pain. Her veins glowing green. Frost had seen that before, with the Man of Steel. She wondered if they were the same species.
Kryptonite, Caitlin's voice rang through her head.
Frost froze the lock, breaking it. She quickly rushed in and grabbed the girl.
Get her out, now!
Frost ran out with the child in her arms. She looked down at the girl in her arms, who was staring up at her with bright blue eyes filled with tears and hope.
"I'm getting you out of here," Frost told the girl.
"I found a little girl. She says there's another one, did anyone find her?" she heard Barry say in her ear.
"I have her. I'm heading out, meet out front," Frost answered, looking down at the girl, who was leaning into her touch. She walked out, not wanting to drop the girl.
She met Barry, who was holding a small girl in his arms. Cisco opened a vibe and all three walked out.
-
When Kara opened her eyes, she saw people standing around her. She felt her heart start to beat quicker. She felt someone's hand touch her. She quickly looked over to see Lena asleep next to her.
Kara was really happy Lena was with her. She was the only person on this planet to be close to her. The other little girl was helping her learn to speak English and Kara was teaching her Kryptonese.
Her head quickly snapped over when she heard someone step closer to her.
"Kara?" the brunette woman called, not getting any closer.
Kara moved so she was in front of her friend. "Kara, me," she said in her broken English.
"I'm Caitlin, I just want to make sure you're okay, can I?" the familiar lady asked, smiling at the girl.
"You saved me?" Kara told her, in her native tongue.
Caitlin gave her a small smile. "Do you remember me?"
Kara felt Lena move next to her. Kara quickly looked over to see her best friend rubbing her eyes.
"Kara?"
"Lena, o-okay?" Kara asked, her eyes scanning the girl to make sure she was safe.
"I'm okay," Lena answered, smiling at the small blond girl. Kara grinned and hugged her.
"Where is she?" A voice boomed, scared both girls. They both turned to see a man in a red and blue outfit. Kara's eyes landed on the symbol on his chest and gasped.
"Superman," Lena whispered, her eyes wide. She watched as the man walked up to them, his eyes going from Lena to her.
"I Kal-el," he said in broken Kryptonian.
But Kara froze, her eyes on Kal. The last time she had seen him, he was a little baby. Now he was a man.
"I'm Kara Zor-el. I'm your cousin," Kara told him, looking up at him. She reached a hand towards him, wanting to make sure he was real. Kal smiled and leaned forward, letting Kara touch his cheek. She grinned and turned to Lena. "Lena, it's my cousin!"
Lena nodded her head, smiling. She gave Kal a wave, who smiled at her and waved back.
"I come bearing gifts!" another man boomed, but Kara didn't care. She was so enamored with her little big cousin.
"Cisco, shh," Caitlin told him.
Kal-el smiled at the little girl. "I happy."
Kara's stomach started to rumble. She sighed, looking at Lena.
"Are you hungry?" Kal asked, smiling at the girl.
Kara nodded her head.
"Then it's a good thing I brought dinner," a man in a red outfit said, walking in. He was holding boxes of something that smelt really good.
Her eyes widened. She tried to sit up, when she felt a pain on her stomach. She whimpered, her little hands hovering over her stomach. Lena quickly turned and checked on the small alien.
"You okay?"
"Hurts," Kara whimpered, tears in her eyes.
"She doesn't have all her powers," Kal said, looking at the group behind him. "I started getting my powers when I was seven."
"How old is she now?"
"Six," Lena answered, looking at the group of people.
Kara watched as Caitlin walked to them. The nice lady sat down next to her. "I'm gonna check on you, okay?"
Kara didn't respond. She didn't understand Caitlin was saying. She kept her eyes on her hands as Caitlin pulled up her shirt. "It's just sore. It should feel better soon."
The red guy walked in with the boxes. He placed one between the two girls. Caitlin opened it. Kara's mouth watered.
"Eat," Caitlin told them.
"We eat," Lena translated, pointing to the box.
Kara looked at how the others were eating, before copying them.
After they ate, Cisco gave each girl a stuffed bear, one with a lightning bolt and the other with the House of El coat of arms.
Kara hugged the Superbear tightly.
"I'm Barry Allen, that's my fiance, Iris West. You know Caitlin Snow, Clark Kent-"
"Kal-el," Kara told him, her blue eyes looking up at him.
Barry smiled. "Yeah, Kal. That's Cisco Ramon and Harrison Wells."
"Hi," Kara said, waving at them. She let out a small yawn.
"Why don't you take a nap? We'll be here when you wake up, okay?" Caitlin told the girls, smiling at them. Kara nodded, snuggling close to Lena and hugging the bear.
-
"What are we going to do?" Barry asked, looking at the group. He looked at the two girls, who were asleep.
"Lena was left behind. Lillian always seemed to hate her. We can't send her back," Iris told him, getting his attention.
"I can take Kara," Clark said, smiling at them. "I can teach her how to use her powers."
"You live in Metropolis," Caitlin told him, giving him her attention. "I don't think we should separate the two girls."
"What are you suggesting we do?"
"We let them wake up and decide where they want to stay," she answered.
Barry saw the look Caitlin was shooting the girls. Barry knew in that moment Caitlin had become attached.
He knew in that moment he was going to do everything he could to help, even if it meant taking in a kid of his own.

"Do you want to go with him, or do you want to stay with me?" Caitlin asked, trying to be as slow as she can, hoping Kara would understand. Kara turned to Lena. Caitlin was curious as to why she'd look at Lena rather than Clark, the actual Kryptonian in the group.
Lena talked to Kara, and the Kryptonian spoke back. Caitlin turned to Lena, her eyes wide. She could feel her heartbeat against her chest. She was nervous and hoping that Kara chose her. She didn't know why, but she felt a connection with the young alien.
Calm down, Killer Frost said in her head. Caitlin rolled her eyes, trying to stay calm.
"She wants to stay with me," Lena answered, looking at Caitlin.
"I can't take two kids," Caitlin told the group of adults. She was disappointed. "I can't afford it, especially with Kara's appetite."
"I can't take a Luthor," Clark said, scratching the back of his head, "it wouldn't be safe."
"I can take Lena and Cait can take care of Kara," Barry suggested, getting a confused look from Iris.
Lena looked at Barry in awe.
"I can stay with you?" Lena asked, her eyes lighting up.
Kara looked happy just by Lena's happiness.
Clark looked at Caitlin. "Can I visit? She's the only one I have left from Krypton."
"You can always visit. Maybe bring Lois next time," Caitlin told him.
Clark nodded. "I think being here will help her in the long run." He turned to Kara, who looked curious. "You stay with Caitlin?"
Kara pointed to the bio-engineer. At Clark's nod, Kara grinned. "I stay. Yes."
Clark smiled. He tensed up, a far away look on his face. "I have to go, but I visit, yes?"
Kara nodded her head. Clark blurred out of the building. Kara and Lena watched, both in awe. Lena turned to Barry.
"Can I hug you?"
Barry smiled and nodded his head. He wrapped his arms around the green eyed girl. Iris took a step forward. She ran her hand through the girl's hair. Lena looked up at Iris.
"Mommy didn't love me," Lena whispered, hilding Barry as tightly as she could.
"You don't have to worry about her anymore. You have us," Iris said, pointing to everyone in the room.
-
"Ice?" Kara asked, frowning at the cold treat in front of her.
Lena nodded her head. She looked up at Barry. She had a new family, and she was scared to lose them.
Barry was the Flash. Kara's cousin was Superman. Lena was so excited about having a nice legal guardian.
Caitlin, Barry, Kara and Lena were getting some ice cream, but were shopping for clothes for Kara and Lena. The blond alien had gotten hungry.
"Mister Barry, can I get a Flash sweater?" Lena asked, looking at the man.
Barry smiled. "You can call me Barry. And we'll look for one just for you. We'll look for a Superman one for Kara, do you think she'll like that?"
Lena nodded her head, excited for the clothing. She looked back to her ice cream. She could see Caitlin wiping Kara's face, who shoved the whole treat into her mouth and creating a mess. Lena could see the smile on Caitlin's face.
"Are you a superhero too?" Lena asked her best friend's (only friend really) foster mother.
Caitlin nodded her head. "I control ice."
"She's the one who saved Kara," Barry told the small girl.
Lena's eyes widened. "Thank you!"
Caitlin smiled. "It's no problem."
Kara looked up at Caitlin. "I-ice."
Caitlin smiled at her. "Do you want more?"
Kara frowned. "Ice?"
Caitlin offered the little girl her hand and took her to get more ice cream.
Lena watched them walk away before looking up at Barry. She gave him a smile, before turning to her remaining ice cream.
-
"Kal?" Kara asked, pointing to her shirt.
Caitlin smiled at her. "Yeah, Kal. Are you excited to stay with me?"
Kara looked up, confused. Caitlin smile and crouched down in front of the young girl. Kara giggled, leaning into the other woman.
"Can you teach me Kryptonian?" Caitlin asked, slowly.
Kara understood the gist. She nodded her head. "I teach you. I learn Earth?"
Caitlin nodded her head. She stood up. She grabbed a shirt with puppies on them. She showed them to Kara, who nodded her head. The two continued to look through the clothing. Barry and Lena were looking in another store.
Kara looked around. She saw Caitlin's hand at her side. She walked forward and grabbed it. She looked up at Caitlin, who looked down at her. She just squeezed a little, smiling.
Caitlin gave her hand a squeeze and together they looked for more clothing for the little girl.
-
Kara giggled as she searched for Lena. Caitlin and Barry were talking to a blond with glasses about something. Making up something. It was boring, so Kara and Lena decided to play a game. They were in the middle of their hide and seek game. After a few minutes, Cisco decided to join, wanting to bond with the two girls and be the cool uncle of both of them.
"Is Lena's existence public?" she heard Harry ask.
"No. Lillian Luthor wouldn't want it to get out that Lionel cheated. We can fake some documents. Lillian knows who Clark is, maybe he can set something up to change legal guardian. Until then, we can use her middle name, Kieran, as her last name. Kara's documents are almost done. Just need a last name."
Caitlin bit her lip. "Would it be weird if we make it Snow?"
"I don't think so. Do you want to share the same last name?"
"Do you plan of adopting her?" Iris questioned, looking at the doctor.
"Yes. Until then, Raymond. Use Raymond, for now."
The lady named Felicity nodded.
Kara walked out of the room, not having found either Lena or Cisco. She squinted her eyes, gasping as she saw a body on the other side. She rubbed her eyes.
"Kara?" she heard someone call. She turned and cried out seeing a skeleton in front of her. Kara closed her eyes and put her hands in front of them. She turned and tried to run, but crashed into a wall. She whimpered.
"Kara!" another voice shouted, causing Kara to whimper again, moving to cover her ears.
"Her powers. Clark told me how his powers scared him," she heard Barry ask really loudly. She could feel tears fill her eyes. "Has Cisco finished the lead glasses?"
Kara heard a swoosh. She felt someone kneel in front of her and put something over her eyes. Kara slowly opened her eyes, seeing Caitlin in front of her.
"C-Caity?"
Caitlin smiled. Kara slowly moved her hands from her ears, hearing just heartbeats, which was soothing.
Kara felt someone press their arms around her. "Kara, you're okay."
"I, uh, okay," Kara said, grinning.
"How fast was she going?" Harry asked, looking at the group.
Cisco smirked. "There is only one way to find out."
-
Barry stretched his legs.
"Hey."
Barry stood straight and turned, smiling when he saw his fellow foster parent. "Hey."
There was a moment of silence before one of them broke it.
"I miss him too."
"You know, I always thought we'd have our first child together. I mean, she's a good mix of us. She has both hot and cold powers, you know?"
Barry nodded his head.
"I just, I want the first child I have to have his name, you know?"
"I get it."
The two smiled at each other.
"You are going to go easy on her, right?" Caitlin asked, glaring at the speedster.
Barry gave her a grin. "Of course. I'm not heartless."
"If you make her cry, Killer Frost will stab you," Caitlin told him, her eyes flashing colors as she let her alter-ego take over for a second.
Barry nodded his head. "I won't Mama Snow. I don't want to mess with Mama Frost."
He laughed when Caitlin's cheeks turned slightly red.
"I'm a mom," Caitlin whispered, looking over at the two girls who were getting ready for the race. Kara was literally vibrating with excitement, and Lena was staring with pure adoration.
"We're both parents," Barry answered, getting the doctor's attention. "You are going to be great. I can tell Kara really likes you."
"You're one to talk. Lena won't stop staring at you."
Barry shrugged. "I think it's mostly because she hasn't had anyone treat her like the child she's supposed to be in some time. I want her to be happy, you know?"
"I do. I want the same thing for Kara."
"As long as they are happy and healthy, we're going to do a great job. But I better go or else Kara will float away."
He hugged the new foster mother, kissed the cheek of his fiancée, rubbed the top of his foster daughter's head and stood next to the small Kryptonian.
"Ready," Cisco started, standing in between them. "Set. Go!"
Kara took off. Barry held back, running next to her. He could see the pure delight on the small alien's face.
He was excited for the future. The two girls in their life was going to keep the world from getting boring. He was ready for it.
Chapter 3: Green III
Chapter Text
Lena was flipping through a book, her eyes scanning the pages. Kara was sitting next to her, crayons scattered around her. She had broken a few with her strength. She colored the coloring book in front of her. Caitlin was watching both girls while Barry went to stop a metahuman, Iris and Cisco were watching what was happening.
When will I be able to hang out with her?
Caitlin smiled. “Soon,” she whispered, getting Kara’s attention. Caitlin shook her head at the girl, who went back to coloring.
She’s my kid now too.
Caitlin was glad that Killer Frost was feeling a connection with the young alien. She knew she wasn’t alone.
Barry appeared in front of the girls, in his Flash costume. He grinned at the two girls.
“Barry!” Lena cheered, her eyes lighting up.
Caitlin smiled, seeing how Lena moved to hug her new father figure. Barry crouched down and hugged the girl. “We’re going out for lunch, you girls want to come with?”
Kara looked at Lena, who translated. She then looked at Caitlin, waiting for an answer. Caitlin smiled at the girl, nodding her head. Kara cheered, as she started to put her things away. Lena rushed forward and started to help Kara put her crayons away. Barry and Caitlin exchanged smiles.
-
Kara swung her legs, coloring her kid’s menu. Lena was reading the piece of paper, choosing something for herself and Kara, the young girl needing to eat for two people.
“ Bathroom, ” Kara whispered to Lena, looking around.
Lena nodded and turned to Caitlin. “Caity, Kara needs to go to the bathroom.”
Caitlin nodded and offered Kara her hand, who took it. The little girl walked next to Caitlin, as both headed to the bathroom. Kara hummed while she was on the toilet, her little legs swinging. She smiled at Caitlin when she walked out the stall. The woman helped the girl wash her hands and then out the door they went.
Kara was looking at the ground when she felt herself be pushed back and onto the ground. She looked up to see a man glaring down at her.
“Watch where you’re going,” he snapped, rolling his eyes.
Kara felt tears fill her eyes. She felt like she was back in that cage.
The man was pulled away and pushed against the wall. Kara saw Caitlin’s hand against his throat. There was a mist around it.
“Do not hurt my little girl,” she said, her voice icy.
“Frost,” she heard someone whisper. She looked over to see Barry and Cisco stand up. They rushed towards Caitlin. Lena ran to Kara and helped her up.
“Cait, let him go,” Barry told the woman.
“I will when this asshole apologizes,” she answered, more mist appearing.
“I’m sorry!” the man cried out, his eyes closing. “I’m sorry!”
Caitlin let him go. The man ran away. Caitlin looked at Kara, her eyes widened. Caitlin crouched down. “I-I’m sorry.”
Kara walked to Caitlin and touched her cheek. She quickly hugged the woman. She leaned into the woman, her eyes closing.
The woman leaned into the hug.
-
“You’re not Caity?” Lena asked, sitting in front of the metahuman.
Frost shook her head. “We share the same body. But Caity and I are different people.”
“What’s your name?”
“Frost.”
“F’ost,” Kara said, a small frown on her face. Lena and Frost grinned, both proud of the young girl.
Lena turned back to Frost. “Are you going to protect Kara?”
The metahuman nodded. “I’m going to protect both of you.”
“Awe, Killer Frost has her baby Frostbite,” Cisco said, laughing, before becoming serious. “That can be her meta-name.”
“She’s a super,” Iris said, shaking her head, “and an alien.”
“Super Frostbite?”
Frost shook her head. She looked at Kara, who seemed to be trying to understand what was happening. Kara looked at Frost and beamed at her. Frost couldn’t help but smile at her young charge.
-
Oliver Queen and his team, John Diggle, Laurel Lance, and Felicity Smoak, and Thea Queen walked into the room, followed by the Legends, Sara Lance, Ray Palmer, Mick Rory.
“You know, when you said you wanted to follow in my footsteps, I didn’t think you were serious,” Oliver told the speedster, a small smirk on his face.
When Oliver Queen went on the Gambit ten years before, he had gone as an only child. When he was “found”, he discovered that he was an older brother. His mother wouldn’t tell him who the father was for the longest time. The girl was still small. When Thea was three, she was kidnapped by Slade Wilson, causing Miora to reveal her parentage. When she died a few weeks later, Oliver was given full custody of his baby sister. Thea Dearden Queen was now seven years old.
Looking at the girls, Thea was nodding at whatever Lena was telling her. Kara just looked curious about what was being said.
“She’s Lex Luthor’s sister,” Cisco said, getting everyone’s attention.
The two teams turned to the dark haired girl. Caitlin could see the gears turning in their heads. Oliver, being who he was, was suspicious of the Luthor name.
“Her mother just left her behind when I found her,” Barry told the group.
“Let’s not talk about that , and just talk about how the team kids are getting along,” Felicity suggested, pointing to the three girls.
Thea was pointing at different things in Kara’s art work. The girl was blushing, while Lena was translating what the older girl was saying.
Oliver let a small smile appear on his face. He knew he’d harden in life he didn’t need to raise his sister.
“What’s up bitches!” Sara Lance exclaimed, as she walked into the room. She was followed by Ray Palmer, Martin Stein, Jefferson Jackson, Nate Heywood, Zari Tomaz, and Mick Rory all walked in.
“There are kids here,” Caitlin snapped, her eyes changing. She could feel Frost’s anger.
“Where are the rugrats?” Ray questioned, looking around, before seeing the three little girls staring at them.
“You even brought Little Queen,” Nate commented, grinning.
“They are all superheroes?” Lena asked, looking at Thea.
The older girl nodded her head.
“Who are they?”
“That’s Ollie. He’s my big brother. But people call him Green Arrow. He works with John Diggle, Spartan, Laurel Lance, Black Canary, and Felicity Smoak, she uses the computer. Sara is Laurel’s sister, she’s the White Canary. Ray Palmer is the Atom, he can shrink, it’s cool. There is Nate Heywood, Steel. He turns into it. Mick Rory, Heat Wave. He likes fire. Zari Tomaz, she doesn’t have a nickname, but she’s from the future . And Professor Stein and Jax turn into Firestorm, it’s really cool,” Thea told the two girls, one who understood and the other that just looked confused.
“Who are these girls?” Zari asked, looking at Kara and Lena.
“Lena Luthor and Kara Zor-El,” Iris told the group of heroes.
“Are you guys babysitting?” Mick asked, not really caring about what was happening.
“Caitlin is fostering Kara, who goes by Kara Raymond,” Barry started, seeing Martin Stein react to the last name. The man gave the widow a sad smile. “And I’m fostering Lena, who goes by Lena Keiran.”
“What kind of last name is Zorel?” Zari asked, a frown on her face.
“Alien,” Cisco told them, a grin on his face.
“Kara is Superman’s cousin,” Caitlin told them, seeing the surprised looks on their faces.
“Does she have all of his powers?” Nate asked, excitement in his voice.
“Not all at the moment, but we do believe she’ll get them the more she’s out under the yellow sun,” Caitlin explained.
“Can you fly?” Thea asked, looking at Kara.
Kara frowned and looked at Lena. “Lena?”
Lena shrugged but translate for her.
“We have to celebrate,” Laurel told the group. “For the new additions to our family.”
Barry grinned. “I’ll go get the cake.”
Laurel elbowed Oliver’s side. “I’ll order and pay for the pizza.”
“That leaves ice cream,” Caitlin told the group, smiling when she saw Kara perk up. She said something, and Lena nodded her head.
Caitlin walked to the alien girl and ran her hand through the blond hair. Kara just leaned into the touch. Lena pouted when she didn’t see Barry. Iris went to keep the girl company, walking to get closer to her fiance’s foster daughter. Lena just beamed.
-
Kara had one pizza in each hand while she watched everyone talk. She looked over to see Lena eating delicately. She felt someone staring at her. She looked to seeOliver’s eyes on her. She bit her pizza, a small frown on her face.
Oliver gave her a nod, turning to his own pizza. Kara shrugged, finishing one pizza and turning to the other one.
Lena let out a small giggle. She reached for a napkin and dapped it on the Kryptonian’s face. Kara beamed at her, grabbing two more slices and tried to eat them at the same time.
The women were staring at the pair of girls in awe. The men were grinning. And the parents were just smiling.
Kara liked the group of people.
-
“Mother,” Lena whispered, staring at the television. Barry turned from the dinner he was making. Iris looked up from the computer she was writing her article from. Lena turned to the television, seeing her mother on the screen.Tears filled her eyes. “She didn’t want me.”
Barry turned the fire off from the stove and walked to Lena. He knelt down in front of her, giving her a small smile. “I want you. Iris and I both want you.”
Lena looked at the speedster, blinking her eyes away. “Really?”
Barry nodded his head. “I want to adopt you, do you want me to?”
Lena didn’t verbally respond. She jumped into Barry’s arms. She wrapped her arms around his neck, her face hidden between his neck and her arm. She started to cry, feeling someone’s love for the first time in some time. She felt Barry put his arm around her, hugging her close. Lena just snuggled into his grip.
(“I’m going to adopt her, sooner rather than later,” Barry told Iris when Lena was asleep.
Iris shook her head, a soft smile on her face. “I’m going to marry a hot single father.”
Barry laughed and kissed her cheek.)
-
Kara’s hand stroked the red cloth. She could hear Kal and Caitlin talking their alien language behind her. She looked up to see them sharing some hot drinks.
She saw Kal sit in front of her. He grinned at her. Kara smiled back.
“Home,” Kara told him, having picked up words that had been repeated.
Kal nodded his head. “Home.” He reached for a gift bag and placed it on the young girl’s lap. She looked at it and took out the tissue paper. Reaching in, she felt something soft. She gripped it and took it out, gasping when she saw a stuffed bear dressed with her family’s coat of arms. Kal pointed to the crest. “ Family .”
Kara looked at the crest, and then Caitlin. “ Family .”
Chapter 4: Green IV
Notes:
This isn't the best, but I wanted to continue this and finish it. So I had to start somehow. Hopefully I get back into the groove of this.
Chapter Text
Caitlin shot up when she heard a scream. She ran off to Kara’s bedroom, Frost taking over. Her hands were raised and misty when she stormed into Kara’s small room. Kara was curled up in the corner of the room, her hands over her eyes. Frost let Caitlin take over, knowing their little Frostbite was safe.
Caitlin looked up at the ceiling, to see two smoking holes.
“Kara,” Caitlin whispered, walking to the girl, but keeping away from her line of sight. She had studied Superman’s powers, wanting to know what to expect. And based on the girl’s stanza, she had to assume heat vision. “Kara.” She crouched down in front of the girl, placing a gentle hand on the small girl’s leg. “It’s okay Sweetie.”
Kara flinched, and shook her head, curling up into a smaller ball.
“Kara?” Caitlin whispered, but the girl didn’t move. “Kara, relax. Please, just relax.”
The small girl shook her head. Caitlin looked at the watch on her wrist. The watch Clark gave her incase of an emergency. She quickly opened it and pressed the button, waiting a few seconds as Clark arrived.
“Is everything okay?” he asked, looking around in fear.
“Kara’s heat vision just manifested,” Caitlin said, looking at the hero.
Clark just grinned. He crouched down in front of the little girl and started to speak to her. Caitlin was able to catch a few words, such as safe, okay, hurt .
Kara relaxed and slowly uncovered her eyes, which were still screwed shut.
“You won’t hurt me,” Clark whispered in English. Kara took a deep breath and slowly opened her eyes. Caitlin let out a sigh when she saw those bright blue eyes. She got on her knees and gave Kara a tight hug. The little girl leaned into it.
“We are so proud of you. So proud,” Caitlin whispered, kissing the top of Kara’s head. The little girl seemed to like it and just closed her eyes with a smile.
Clark grinned, placing his hand on Kara’s shoulder.
“ Proud ,” he said in Kryptonese.
-
“She got her heat vision last night,” Caitlin told Iris, while Cisco, Harry and Barry played with the girls.
Iris turned to Caitlin, her eyes wide with surprise. “How did you handle it?”
“Called Clark. He was able to calm her down. We told her we were proud of her,” Caitlin said, a proud smile on her face.
Iris smiled in return, turning to the two girls. Kara was running with Barry running after her, both blurs. Lena was watching with a grin on her face.
“Is it too soon to say I love Lena?” Iris asked, turning to Caitlin.
The metahuman shook her head. “No, Cause I love Kara with everything I have. I would die for her. I can’t wait to call her mine.”
Iris beamed. “I don’t think you’ll have to wait too long.”
Before they could do anything, Clark walked into the Cortex with three other people. Caitlin felt the need to protect her little girl, but she knew that Clark wouldn’t put her in danger. She just stood straighter.
“Caitlin, Barry, these are my friends, J’onn, Alex and Winn. They work for the DEO-”
“DEO?” Iris asked, a frown on her face.
“Department of Extraterrestrial Operations,” the younger man said, a nervous smile on his face. Caitlin’s eyes went to his face, and then looked at the woman, who she assumed was Alex. The woman’s eyes were on Kara, who was hiding behind Barry with Lena.
“We are not here to harm you,” the taller man said, his voice holding authority.
Clark pointed to Alex. “Alex here has been studying Kryptonian physiology. Her parents helped me with my powers. J’onn here is an alien-”
“From where?” Cisco asked, his eyes wide with excitement.
Clark turned to look at J’onn and the older man nodded. Caitlin watched as the man transformed into a green alien.
“I am the last son of Mars,” he said, his voice holding a small echo.
“Lena!” she heard Kara say, and she looked over to see Kara pointing to J’onn, pointing her finger. The dark haired little girl just stared with wide eyes.
“And Winn is the IT of the DEO, he is here to help with any items needed,” Clark finished, nodding to the STAR Labs personnel.
“It’s nice to meet you,” Barry said, nodding his head. “I’m Barry Allen. I am adopting Lena-” The green eyed girl looked up at Barry with heart eyes. “I’m also the Flash.”
“And I’m Caitlin Snow, I am adopting Kara,” she said, waving at the group. “Frost is also me.”
One by one the rest of the group started to introduce themselves.
-
Kara licked the ice cream, looking up at Alex. The girl seemed to like the older woman, something about her just putting Kara at ease. Caitlin was slightly jealous at how easily Kara got comfortable.
“Hey,” she heard someone say, and she looked over to see Winn standing next to her.
“Hi,” Caitlin responded, a small smile on her face.
Winn gave her a half smile, “It’s great, what you’re doing. Taking her in. Giving her a home.”
Caitlin turned to Kara, who jumped off the chair she was on and ran to Lena, pulling her to Alex.
“She needs love. She lost everyone, and she spent the last year locked up in a Kryptonite room. I want her to be happy.”
Winn smiled softly. “I understand that. My father, Toyman, he’s in prison, and my mother disappeared. I spent most of my childhood in foster care. I wished someone loved me like you do her.”
Caitlin frowned at him. “Your father is a villain?”
Winn let out a small chuckle. “I guess you can say that. He escaped prison a year ago and Clark put him back in prison.”
“My father is Icicle. He tried to freeze the world. So I get it.”
Winn just stared at her, a smile on his face. “Someone finally gets it.”
Caitlin didn’t respond, she just smiled at him, feeling her cheeks burn a little.
-
Lena looked up at Alex, who was smiling down at her. She offered Kara a donut and the blond shoved the whole thing into her mouth. She looked at Lena with a puffed up smile.
Lena grabbed a napkin and wiped Kara’s face. The blond scrunched up her face.
“You’re best friends huh?” Alex asked, watching the two.
Lena nodded, moving a little closer to Kara.
“I want to make sure Kara is okay growing up. She’s an alien, things are going to be harder for her,” Alex whispered, looking at Lena. The green eyed girl looked at Kara with fear in her eyes.
“You can’t take her!” Lena shouted, pulling Kara with her.
Alex’s eyes widened, shaking her head. Lena could feel her tears start to stream down her face. Within seconds, Barry was in front of her wrapping his arms around her. Lena leaned into the hug, her body trembling. She could feel his warmth, his love and she wanted that.
“Kara can’t go,” she cried, and Barry rubbed her back.
“Lena,” Kara whispered, looking at her, a concerned look on her face.
“Hey, Kara isn’t going anywhere. Alex, Winn and J’onn are here to help her, but she is staying with us, with Cait. You aren’t losing her,” Barry told her, wiping her tears.
Kara frowned, looking around. She tilted her head. “I stay,” she said, nodding her head.
Alex knelt down in front of Lena. “I am not taking her. I am going to help her, but she’s going to need you to.”
Lena nodded, rubbing her eyes. When Barry let her go, Kara was quick to wrap her arms around Lena. The green eyed girl leaned into the hug, holding the blond tightly.
-
Kara gripped J’onn’s cape, her eyes filled with wonder. J’onn knelt in front of Kara.
“ My name is J’onn ,” he said in Kryptonese, and Kara’s eyes widened. She started to talk, but he couldn’t understand. “Kara,” he stopped her and the girl pouted, looking up at him. J’onn stared at her, and he could see his own daughter in her eyes.
Kara grabbed the cape again and pulled it. J’onn looked at the girl fondly and picked her up. Kara touched his face and smiled.
J’onn had come to STAR Labs to watch over his agents, but the girl had pulled at his heart. Just seeing her big blue eyes, he knew he couldn’t be impartial to her.
He gave her a smile.
-
Kara felt happy. She felt so happy, something she didn’t think she was going to feel. She looked over at Lena sitting on Barry’s lap, having a nap. Kara looked up at J’onn, who was sitting next to her. She liked him. He was different, like her. And it made her feel less lonely.
She gave J’onn’s hand a pat and got off the chair, walking to Caitlin. She climbed her lap and leaned into her new caretaker.
She knew her mother would like her.
She knew her parents would be happy for the family she gained on Earth.
Chapter 5: Green V
Chapter Text
After that first introduction, the DEO had come to be an important part to Kara’s growth. They started to help her with her powers, especially with her heat vision. Kara’s Kryptonian brain had made her fluent in English, and Caitlin was teaching her other languages for fun (Lena was always there for lessons, wanting to learn as well). Her strength and flight hadn’t come in yet, but everyone was ready.
Joe smiled at the two girls. He was on babysitting duty while his (the team) kids were off working. Grandpa Joe was ready to take his role seriously. Especially after seeing the bright eyes looking up at him, each holding sadness, but hope.
Cisco, Caitlin and Barry were off stopping a robbery, while Harry was watching over the monitors. Iris was at work, looking up as much as she could about Cadmus. Lena was working on some sort of diagram, and Kara was playing with wires. (Joe would have worried, but Kara seemed to know what she was doing.)
“ There’s nothing here !” Barry said over the comms, and Joe froze and turned to look at Harry, who looked confused. He watched the realization appear in Harry’s eyes.
“It’s a trap!”
Before Joe could pull the girl’s towards him, there was some sort of explosion at the entrance of the Cortex.
Lena screamed, her eyes wide. Kara moved to stand in front of Joe and Lena, trying to protect them.
J’onn stood there, a glare on his face, some sort of metal item on his face.
Harry walked up to the man, but he just shoved the scientist away. He turned to the conscious people. J’onn’s eyes went to Lena, who was trembling. Kara moved to block the man’s view.
“What are you doing here?” Joe asked, his hand grabbing his gun and aiming it at the man.
J’onn smirked. “I am here for the children.”
“J’onn,” Kara said, a frown on her face.
The man looked at her. “We should have disposed of you when we had the chance.”
“Hank,” Lena whispered, wrapping her arms around Joe’s leg.
“I am Cyborg Superman,” he said, and he ran to Joe and Lena, but Kara used her own speed to jump onto Hank's back. She grabbed his nose and pulled, distracting the man. Hank reached back to grab the girl, but Kara just wrapped herself around him like a koala.
“You are not hurting Lena!” she told him, pulling his ear.
“Let go of me you Kryptonian rat!” he shouted, trying to grab the girl. He was able to grab her by her hair and pull her off. Kara yelped as she grabbed his wrist, trying to take the weight off her scalp. “You are a nuisance, and I will have you exterminated like you should have been.” He grabbed Kara by the throat and tightened his grip.
Kara gasped as her windpipes closed. She kicked her little legs. She punched and scratched. She could feel her fear appear, her eyes start to burn. With a grit of her teeth, she let her heat vision fly.
Hank screamed in pain and threw the child.
Lena and Joe watched as Hank threw Kara to a wall and the girl created a hole in the wall.
“Kara!” Lena shouted, trying to run to her best friend, but Joe stopped her.
Cyborg Superman turned to the last two standing and smirked. Before he could hurt them, he was blasted away. Lena watched as Barry threw lighting at him, and Frost threw icicles.
While they were all distracted, Lena ran to Kara. She found her unconscious on the ground. “Kara,” Lena whispered, falling to her knees. “Kara, wake up.” She shook the girl, but Kara gave no signs of waking up. Lena was scared. She was really scared. “Kara, please.”
Lena froze when she footsteps heading towards them. She quickly stood up, placed her hands under Kara’s armpits and dragged her to the best hiding spot she could find.
“Lena?” she heard Barry call out, and Lena gently dropped Kara and ran to the man. He held her tightly, afraid to let go and lose her. “I’m glad you’re okay. I don’t know what I would do if you were hurt.”
Lena cried on his shoulder. “Kara won’t wake up.”
Barry froze and looked at the unconscious girl. He pulled Lena closer to him, knowing the girl needed the contact. He kissed her temple and moved to pick up the Krytponian. He flinched at how limp she was. He barely had her in his arms when Caitlin rushed in.
“Kara!” the new mother cried as she pulled the girl into her arms. She looked at Barry, tears in her eyes. “I-I have to-” she didn’t finish. She just rushed out of the room, taking her to the MedLab.
Barry closed his eyes and hugged Lena tighter. “She’s going to be okay, we are going to make sure she is.”
“Lena!” Iris shouted as she ran into the Cortex. Barry zoomed out to her. Lena turned her body and Iris was quick to wrap her arms around the little girl. “I’m so glad you are okay.”
That causing Lena to start sobbing again. The engaged couple hugged the girl tightly.
Caitlin bit her nail, staring at the little girl under the sunlamps. She looked over to Alex, who was looking at her tablet.
“How is she?” Caitlin asked, worry in her eyes.
Alex looked at her and smiled softly. “She’s going to be okay. The sunlamps are healing her. When she wakes up, she will be good as new.”
Caitlin let out a sigh and leaned back against the wall. She looked across the room to see Lena asleep on Iris’s lap. The little girl wouldn’t let Kara leave her sight. She sobbed herself to sleep. When Iris tried to take her out of the room, Lena’s tears would restart. Iris had to sit there with her future child on her lap. Lena did not want to be separated from the older woman. (She felt safest being held by Barry or Iris, or being with Kara.)
Alex turned to her watch and nodded. “We can turn the lamps off. She should wake up soon.”
Caitlin nodded, watching as Alex turned the lamps off. Once it was safe, Caitlin moved closer to the young girl.
Caitlin didn’t have to wait too long before Kara woke up. She let out a small groan and brought her fist up to rub her eyes. Caitlin watched as Kara’s bright blue eyes opened. Seh looked around and Caitlin could see the fear appear in her eyes when she saw the lamps so close to her.
“Kara,” Cailtin whispered, moving closer.
Kara turned her head and she relaxed when she saw Caitlin. “Caity,” Kara said, her eyes filling with tears. She pushed the lamps away and reached for Caitlin. The bioengineer rushed and pulled the girl into her arms. “I was so worried.”
“I tried,” Kara whispered, looking up at Caitlin. “I tried.”
“I know baby, I know. You did great. You protected Lena and Grandpa Joe,” Caitlin whispered, rubbing the girl’s back.
“Lena is safe?” Kara asked, looking hopeful.
Caitlin pointed to the sleeping girl. Iris gently shook the girl and they watched as Lena shot up. “Kara?” Lena slurred, her voice hoarse from her crying and sleep.
“She’s awake,” Iris said, placing the girl on the ground.
Lena quickly ran to her best friend, finding Kara awake. Tears welled up in her eyes, and he quickly started shooting off questions in Kryptonese. Kara responded back, her own eyes filled with tears.
Lena and Kara cuddled while Caitlin and Iris sat nearby. The men walked in, and Kara lit up. “Grandpa Joe!”
Joe walked up to the girls and gave the top of their heads a kiss. “I’m glad you are okay.”
Barry loved to wrap his arms around Iris, Winn gave Caitlin a small smile, and Cisco hugged the two girls.
“This is the rest of our lives,” Iris whispered, a soft smile on her face. She turned to Caitlin, who was grinning.
“It’s perfect.”
-
Lillian glared at the man in front of her. “You failed me. You did not bring back the child.”
“The Kryptonian runt has started to gain some of her powers,” Hank responded, a look of displeasure on his face.
Lillian frowned. “We have to make a new plan. We need my daughter to gain control of the Kryptonian.”
“I won’t fail you again,” he said, nodding.
Chapter 6: Green VI
Chapter Text
Iris looked at the two girls who were on the playground. She looked to the trees, seeing Alex standing there. After the attack at STAR Labs, J’onn, Alex and Winn wanted protection around the girls whenever there wasn’t someone with powers, in case of an attack.
Barry and Caitlin were busy trying to find Cadmus and Iris wanted to get the girls some air. Kara and Lena were excited to go to the park, and Iris was more than willing to have security around them.
Kara was on the slide looking up at the sun, while Lena sat under the structure with a book in her lap. Iris smiled at the two girls.
She looked down to her laptop, her latest article in front of her. She started to type about the latest Flash situation. She looked up to see Kara standing on the slide, her body tensed. Iris closed her laptop and stood up.
“Lena, Kara,” she called out, and Lena looked at her. Kara didn’t show any sign that she heard her. Kara’s little hands turned into fists, and before Iris could say anything else, Hank Henshaw showed up and grabbed Kara by her throat.
Iris turned on her Flash alarm, grabbing Lena who ran to her.
“Leave her alone!” Iris shouted, pushing Lena behind her.
Alex rushed towards them, gun out. “Put her down!”
Hank looked at the women and smirked. Kara was kicking her legs, punching at Hank’s arm. “I will give you this parasite if you give me the girl.”
Fortunately neither woman had to respond when Barry and Caitlin appeared in front of her.
“Let her go!” Barry exclaimed, taking a step forward. Two ice shards appeared on Frost’s hands.
Hank laughed. Iris watched as he tightened his grip on Kara’s throat. The little girl let out a small squeak and slammed her little fists against Hank’s wrists.
Barry started to run, his fists ready, when Hank placed Kara in front of him. Barry stopped, not wanting to hurt the little girl. Kara squealed, kicking her little legs. She started to squeeze her eyes tightly. Iris could see the glow around her eyes.
Frost seemed to know what was happening. “Let it go Kara! Let it go!”
Kara opened her eyes and screamed, beams of heat escaping her eyes. Hank screamed in pain and released Kara. Kara stayed floating, shooting her beams at the man. Alex shot her gun, watching as Hank stumbled backwards.
Barry zoomed to the cyborg and punched him. Kara closed her eyes, just as two more heroes appeared.
J’onn and Clark took a step towards Hank, who was picking himself off the ground. Frost quickly wrapped her arms around Kara, who seemed to calm a bit.
Iris turned to Lena, who had tears on her face. The little girl looked up at her, tears streaming down her face. “Kara’s okay?”
Iris nodded her head. “Kara saved herself.” She crouched down in front of the girl and pulled in for a hug. She turned them so she could see the fight happen.
Hank and Superman were matching each other’s fists. Clark seemed angry, and looked at the frightened look on Kara’s face, she could understand.
Frost changed back to Caitlin, who was fussing over her child. Kara nodded her little head and rubbed her eyes.
Iris turned back to the fight, to see that the four men had disappeared.
“We should head back to the lab,” Alex told both women, who were The little girl was holding onto Cailtin, her eyes looking up at the sky. Lena was trembling in Iris’s arm.
Iris nodded and the three women walked to her car, where they placed the girls in their booster chairs. Kara looked exhausted, and Lena was quick to grab Kara’s hand. Iris turned on her car and quickly drove them to S.T.A.R. Labs.
Barry felt his lightning run through his body, glaring at the man in front of him. “You are not getting my daughter!”
Hank wiped the blood off his face. “She will never be yours.”
Clark’s eyes started to glow red. He took a step forward. “I spoke to her mother. She said she would back off.”
Hank smirked. “Would you like to know what we did to the other alien ? How she begged for her parents to save her while we cut her open? How she cry every night?”
“Superman!” J’onn shouted, but Clark didn’t listen. He flew towards Hank and slammed his fist on his face. Hank punched back.
“What do we do?” Barry asked, having never seen Clark so angry. Clark released his heat vision, and then punched Hank. Hank tried to fight back, but Clark blocked the punch and hit Hank another time.
Superman threw one last punch, leaving Hank unconscious on the ground. He took a step back, breathing deeply, not front exhaust, but anger. He turned to J’onn. “I hope your people can keep him in check.”
J’onn nodded his head. He grabbed the cyborg and flew him away.
Barry took a step closer to Clark, seeing the tense hero. “Clark?”
“They tortured her. They tortured Kara,” Clark said through his gritted teeth. “She’s a little girl.”
Barry could see the tears in his eyes.
“She’s safe now. She’s with us now. And I’m sure she wants to see you,” Barry said, getting a nod from the Kryptonian. In a blink, both men were gone.
Caitlin ran her hand through Kara’s hair. The little girl was curled up on the chair next to her. Her hands were over her ears and her eyes screwed shut, her senses overwhelming her. Lena was on Iris’s lap, running her hand through her future mother’s hair.
“Lena!” Barry exclaimed, appearing in the middle of the room. Clark was a second behind. He appeared in front of Kara. Barry knelt down in front of Lena and pulled her into his arms.
Clark placed his arm on Kara’s shoulder. The little girl tensed up and tried to move away from Clark.
He started to speak in Kryptonese, and Kara responded in a whisper, moving her hands away from her ears. She gave Clark a nod and a hug. Clark closed his eyes and held his cousin tightly.
Caitlin watched with a smile, when she felt a hand on her shoulder. She looked up to see Winn standing over her. He gave her a soft smile.
Barry stood up, holding Lena in his arms. The girl leaned into him, her eyes slowly closing from exhaustion. “Cadmus lost their strongest hitter. I think we are going to be okay.”
Caitlin nodded, looking down at the girl in his arms. Lena seemed to relax and her breathing evened out. Kara reached for Caitlin and the woman pulled the little girl into her arms. Kara pressed herself against the metahuman woman.
“What do we do now?” Cisco asked, looking at the group.
“We celebrate,” someone said, and they all looked at the entrance to see Oliver and Sara’s teams standing there holding boxes of pizza and champagne.
Felicity smiled, looking at the two families. Barry Allen and Caitlin Snow looked at the paperwork in their hands. Lena was half asleep, grabbing onto Barry’s side. Kara was holding two pieces of pizza in each hand.
Oliver raised his champagne. “Congratulations, they’re both girls.”
Thea let out a cheer, a grin on her face, joined by the others. They raised their champagne. Lena pressed herself closer to Barry and Kara took a bite of one of her two slices. She chewed as she looked up at Caitlin, who was grinning.
Barry knelt down in front of Lena with the biggest smile on his face. “Lena Allen,” he whispered, smiling fondly. Lena smiled back.
“Are you my daddy now?”
Barry nodded. “It’s official now. You’re my daughter. No one will ever take you away from me.”
Lena hugged him, grinning the brightest smile anyone had seen on her face. Barry held her close, closing his eyes and he hugged her tightly, trying to show her his love through their hug.
Barry turned to Kara and Caitlin. The girl was busy eating. Barry smiled, knowing the love the girl held for food. Always hungry, always open for food.
Lena pulled away and ran to Kara. She hugged Kara tightly, causing the blond alien to drop one of her slices of pizza. Kara stared at the food on the ground with a heartbroken expression.
“Barry is my daddy now! Lillian can’t take me anymore!”
“My pizza,” Kara whispered in her cute Krytponian accent.
Lena pulled away and glared at Kara. “Not the pizza, me!”
“B-but hungry,” Kara whimpered, pouting.
Lena let out a sigh and looked at Caitlin. “Can Kara have more pizza?”
Winn was quick to grab a slice for Kara. The girl beamed when it appeared in front of her. She grabbed it and took a bite, chewing happily. Lena sighed, and turned to Iris, who was watching with a beam.
“Iris, Barry is my daddy now!” Lena said, a smile on her face.
Iris nodded. “He is. And he is going to love you with everything he has.”
Lena nodded. She took a step forward and hugged Iris. “Thank you for protecting me,” she whispered, hugging the reporter tightly.
Iris looked at Barry, who was watching with love in his eyes. “I will always protect you.”
Someone new caught her attention. “Clark!”
Kara finished most of her pizza, leaving the crust, and looked up at Caitlin, who wiped her mouth and hands clean with a smile.
“Caitlin and Kara Snow,” Winn said, a grin on her face.
Caitlin looked at Winn with a raised eyebrow. “That’s us.”
Kara beamed, shoving the crust of her pizza into her mouth. She hummed as she chewed, looking up at Winn and Caitlin. Winn looked at Caitlin with reddening cheeks. She looked at him with a gentle smile.
Winn rubbed the back of his neck and let out a nervous laugh. “Do you think, maybe, you’d like to, uh, like to get some dinner some day? Not like friends, I mean, yes like friends, but also like a date?”
Caitlin smiled softly. “I’d love to. Go on a date with you.”
Winn beamed, nodding his head. “I’ll text you tonight. But I should let you get back to your daughter.”
Caitlin looked at Kara with pure love in her eyes.
Our daughter , Frost’s voice ran in her head. Our little Frostling .
Kara wiped the grease off her face and inhaled deeply. Lena and Thea quickly grabbed a hand and pulled her away. Barry and Iris each walked up to Caitlin.
“Those two girls are officially ours,” Barry said, placing his arm around Iris’s waist.
Caitlin turned to Barry with a smile. “We are parents now. All three of us. And in a few months, it’ll be official for Iris.”
“I was afraid of being a mother to her, after who had the role before me, but now, I want to make sure I do the best damn job I can do,” Iris said, leaning into Barry’s side.
Barry kissed the top of her head. “You’re doing a great job. She’s the happiest she's ever been, and it’s because she has you to be her mother now.”
Lena and Kara were listening to Thea talk about school. The girls looked interested at the prospect of going to school.
“We can all move to the next chapters of our lives,” Iris said, her eyes on the green eyed girl a few feet away from them.
Caitlin looked to Winn, who was watching her with red cheeks. “Yeah, I guess we do now.”
Lena, Kara, and Thea were all sitting at the corner of the Cortex. The adults had started to talk about missions, and the girls didn’t want to listen.
“Are you going to be a hero?” Lena asked, looking at Thea.
The older girl shrugged. “Maybe. Oli is teaching me how to protect myself. And I can use a bow too. Nyssa and Sara are teaching me how to use a sword. Kara?”
The blond looked at her cousin, who was in his Clark outfit. She shrugged. “Dunno.”
“How about you Lena? Do you want to be a hero?”
Lena’s eyes went to Barry and Iris. “I want to help people, like Barry and Iris.”
Kara reached her hand and gave her a gentle squeeze.
“We can make our own team when we’re older. Better than Oli, Barry, and Clark.”
“I don’t have powers,” Lena said, frowning.
“Felicity and Iris don’t have powers and they are heroes too,” Thea told her, giving her a gentle smile.
Lena smiled back, and Kara pouted at the lack of attention from her best friend.
“I’m hungry.”
Lena and Thea both looked at her, before laughing. Kara just continued to pout.
Notes:
This part isn't over.
Uncle Oliver is going to babysit. Legends too. And we still got the WestAllen wedding.
