Modern au with no magic
Alec and Raj are soulmates and have been trying to make a relationship work for a year, but don’t feel anything for each other except friendly affection. They finally have an amicable mutual breakup and acknowledge that they were never going to love each other the way they’re expected to. Jace and Izzy try to be supportive, but they’re both wildly in love with their soulmates and don’t really understand how Alec couldn’t be with his. Fortunately after getting to know Magnus and seeing how much happier he makes Alec that Raj did, they’re happy for him. Camille was Magnus’s soulmate and he loved her but she was a cheating, manipulative, emotional abuser so he broke up with her after a few months.
