    Some people change history by forging paths, some by closing others permanently (decapitation being a very final sort of door-closing). Some by saving worlds, and others by guiding or guarding, or helping or following, those that do.

    And some people do it by quietly, gently and firmly reminding others that not only must they *not* repeat their doomed history, but they must instead *transcend* it.
