Chapter Text
“Dibs on the show-“ she didn’t get to finish her sentence as she was pulled by him as soon as she entered the door to his apartment.
He cupped her face and planted a swift but gentle kiss on her lips, letting his touch hers for a while before pulling away.
It had been a long ten minutes waiting for her manager to drop her off at his place.
“Mwo?” she giggled.
“You have no idea how much I’ve wanted to kiss you as soon as I saw you on the red carpet earlier.” he admitted, flashing her the sweetest smile.
“Thank heavens for your self-control then.” she smiled back before giving him a peck on the lips which was suddenly easier for her given that the silver heels she wore to the awards show halved their height difference.
He grinned like a little boy, showing his dimples.
“Love, the idea of you trying your dress for me days before tonight is to eliminate the element of surprise in the red carpet.” he reminded, poking her cute little nose that automatically scrunched at his touch.
He remembered when the silver spaghetti dress was dropped off to her apartment two weeks prior to the event. He was there, visiting her and spending his day off from filming his new show. He remembered how he couldn’t say anything when she tried on the gown. She wasn’t even wearing make-up then but he still thought that she was the most beautiful woman for him. He wanted nothing but to snap a photo and post it so he could tell the whole world how lucky he is that she was his.
But this dress. This simple white strapless gown that reminded him of 2015, this dress that made it so hard for him to control himself during the show was the perfect one for the perfect girl in front of him.
She chuckled and raised her eyebrows at him. “Am I not allowed to make some last minute changes? My stylist and I thought this one hugs my curves better. Don’t you think?”
She twirled for him like the devious little girl that she was. She was past the point of being shy around him. He long broke down her perfectly built walls around her, giving him access to the real her - the playful, sometimes childish, and full of sunshine Gon who seemed to light up every place she was in.
“Come here!” he pulled her towards him gently and tucked a loose strand of her hair behind her ear before holding both her hands. “I’ve been wanting to do that all night too. You just look beautiful tonight. So beautiful that I had a hard time telling myself not to stare or else we’d be all over the news tomorrow.”
“I know.” she teased. “Yong Ji told me.”
He raised his eyebrows.
“She said she had to get your attention one time because you’re glaring at me and my director friend.”
“Aishh. That girl.” He scoffed. “And I wasn’t glaring!”
“I kinda saw you shooting daggers for a second.” she replied teasingly.
“Ha!” he smirked. “So you were looking at me too. Can’t help it, can you?”
She beamed at him, brought her hands up to fix his collar, and then slid them down to his chest. “Of course I was staring at my boyfriend. Have you looked in the mirror?”
He blushed.
“I wasn’t just as obvious as you.” She continued mockingly.
He heaved a heavy sigh as a sign of defeat. He would love to bicker with her because it gets him playful whacks and kisses but not tonight. He had been holding himself throughout the entire show, careful not to drop hints about them. He would’ve loved for them to arrive to the show together so he could freely put his hand on her back to guide her, tuck a loose strand of her hair whenever, and just look at her with love and admiration.
Damn the cameras.
But he knew it wasn’t the right time so he had to behave himself.
Now that they were alone in his apartment, he couldn’t wait to show her how much he adores her.
His hands caressed her bare arms before resting them on her waist, gently pulling her closer so there would be no space between them.
“You were right though.” he smiled sheepishly.
“About what?”
“About this dress.” He pulled her closer to him so he could kiss her on the cheek before trailing down his lips to her wonderful neck, whispering against her fair skin. “About your curves.”
His breath on her skin sent goosebumps running down her spine.
“So I was saying...” she was almost breathless.
“Hmmm...” he finally planted a soft kiss.
“Dibs on the shower.”
“Right.” He pulled away and started to remove his tie, grinning at her.
“What are you doing?” her eyes widened when she realized that he was undressing himself right then and there.
“I’m calling dibs on tonight’s Best Actress.”
Chapter 2: Bears
Summary:
Yeong was worried.
Tae Eul was pregnant.
Lee Gon had to face the consequences of his past mistake.
Chapter Text
“Seung-Ah?” Yeong pressed the earpiece further as Lee Gon and Prime Minister Mo stopped their conversation to look at him.
They knew it was something about the Queen because Seung-Ah would never contact Yeong unless it was something important.
“Pyeha...” Yeong looked at Gon who was waiting impatiently for his next words. “She’s not responding but it’s about Her Majesty.”
Lee Gon jumped from his seat and immediately wrapped up the meeting with the Prime Minister who understood completely. She bowed down to him as he sprinted out of his private study.
Yeong followed Lee Gon towards their Majesties’ private chambers. They were practically running, and he knew that the King had a lot going through his mind as they move.
The Queen just passed the first trimester and although the morning sickness was terrible, everything was good. The check-ups showed a healthy heir, the gender still unknown. The King was so ecstatic that the nursery was done and decorated in gender neutral colors and toys in a span of three days.
To say that Yeong was worried about his noona and the heir was an understatement. He knew Gon would ask him to be the godparent because who else would it be? If he wouldn’t be, he knew he’d be so disappointed, mad at Gon even if he’s the King. That was why even though the heir wasn’t born yet, he knew that he would love and care for that child.
Seung-Ah was waiting for them by the door when they arrived. Pyeha gave Yeong one last look before he entered the room and closed the door behind him, leaving him with Seung-Ah.
“Did something happen to the queen?” He asked her, worry evident in his eyes.
“She’s fuming.” Seung-Ah replied.
“Fuming? She’s alright?”
“No. I’ve never seen her like this.”
Yeong’s eyebrow furrowed in frown. He really didn’t know what was happening and his girlfriend’s answers weren’t really helping at all.
“But -“
Before he could continue, Lee Gon’s head peeked from the room.
“Yeong-ah.” he called.
“Pyeha...” he responded. “Is the queen okay? The baby? Should we call someone?”
“When is the twin’s birthday?”
Yeong was more confused than he was before but he answered Gon’s question anyway. “Three months ago, Pyeha.”
Lee Gon opened the door and took out two large teddy bears with him. They were more than a meter tall and brown in color.
“A late present for the twins.”
“Pyeha-“
“I’ll be at the kitchen cooking for Tae Eul. You’re both dismissed. Go out on a date or something.”
Lee Gon started walking away and Yeong could only look at the huge stuffed toys on the floor. He had a lot going in his mind including the thought about how silly he’d look walking in the palace carrying them with him.
He was about to attempt to carry the bears when Lee Gon walked back to them quietly but instead of talking to him, he called for his girlfriend.
“Seung-ah.”
“Pyeha.”
“If Yeong-ie calls you a slow-witted bear, would you deprive your children of playing with teddy bears too?”
Yeong let out a groan.
“Is that what this is about? You called the Queen a slow-witted bear?”
“Yah! Don’t talk to me like that. I’m still your King.” He scolded. “And It was when I had to irritate her to get her attention.”
Yeong could only shake his head in disbelief.
Chapter 3: Crush
Chapter Text
“She looked really beautiful today.”
“She arrived on set in a cap, a crumpled shirt, and some baggy jeans.”
“Her hair was down and she had no make-up on.”
“She waved at me.”
“Then smiled.”
“At me.”
“Omo! She looked really beautiful today.”
“I wish she’d be less shy around me.”
“We’re still halfway through filming.”
“She used to be playful and chatty.”
“I missed that.”
“I wonder what happened.”
“Could she have felt it?”
“The way I feel about her?”
“It’s not like I’m trying to hide it or anything.”
“I give her food and make sure she’s never hungry on set.”
“I always talk to her even before the camera rolls.”
“I try to make her smile.”
“Omo! Her smile!”
“It’s so hard not to fall for that smile.”
“I wonder about his previous leading men though.”
“Why didn’t she date any of them?”
“What if she doesn’t date co-workers?”
“I’m doomed.”
“I’ll just be another Oppa that comes and goes.”
“Right. I’m not an Oppa.”
“Just Sunbae.”
“Can I do it?”
“Let her go?”
“No.”
“I can’t.”
“I want to see her smile always.”
“I want to make her happy.”
“I don’t want to rush things though.”
“I want us to be friends first.”
“But what if I run out of time?”
“What if she doesn’t like me back?”
“I should still try, right?”
“Aishhh.”
“What is happening to me?”
“Get a grip, Min Ho.”
“I should probably check if she got home safe.”
“Or...”
“I could drive to her house and bring food.”
“Will she let me in?”
“Maybe not.”
“I should still try, right?
“Keys... Cap...”
“Alright.”
“...”
“I should probably call her to let her know I’m coming.”
“She’s not answering.”
“Maybe she doesn’t want to talk.”
“Or maybe she’s asleep.”
“I miss you.”
“Please answer your—-“
“Oh. Annyeong!”
“I uh... I bought some bibimpap from the store near your place. Can I drop by?”
“Ne.”
“Just me. It’s not a bad time, right?”
“I’ll be there in ten minutes. I can’t wait to see you.”
“Annyeong.”
“...”
“Omo! She just called me Oppa!”

“Aishh.”
“This is so confusing.”
“What should I do?”
“Filming is still halfway through.”
“He’s making it harder by being... him.”
“Why is it different with him though?”
“What does he have that others don’t?”
“He’s tall and handsome.”
“So is Hae Jin Oppa.”
“He has a pointed nose.”
“So does Gong Yoo Oppa.”
“He’s charming and playful.”
“So is Hae In Oppa.”
“Aisssh. I told myself I won’t fall for Oppas. Or even if I do, I won’t date one.”
“The fans are so scary.”
“But why him? His fans are scarier.”
“I’m doomed.”
“It’s been a good run.”
“...”
“I can still do it, right?”
“Avoid him and put my walls back up.”
“What if he brings me food on set again?”
“I’d say I already ate.”
“What if he wants to chat before the camera rolls?”
“I’d cut the conversation and have my make-up retouched.”
“What if he texts me good mornings and good nights like he always does?”
“I’d ignore them.”
“I can do it.”
“It’s not like I like him too, right?”
“Go Eun-ah, you’re not even sure if he likes you.”
“But...”
“Am I wrong?”
“What if he just wants to be friends?”
“It’s okay. I just want to be friends too.”
“I do, right?”
“But why hasn’t he texted yet?”
“He always makes sure I get home safe.”
“Maybe he’s become uninterested.”
“Maybe he felt like I don’t want to be close to him.”
“Maybe he doesn’t really like me.”
“Well... that’s a relief.”
“And sad.”
“Fine.”
“I think I like him.”
“Who wouldn’t, right?”
“I like him. He doesn’t feel the same way. Good for me.”
“Just one more Oppa who comes and goes.”
“I guess he’s not texting me tonight.”
“I’ll go to bed.”
“...”
“...”
“Omo! He’s calling! What should I do?”
“Shit.”
“Should I answer it?”
“Or should I let it get to voicemail?”
“Argghh! Why are you doing this to me?”
“Shit.”
“Here goes nothing.”
“Yeoboseyo, sunbaenim.”
“Mwo? You’re near my place?”
“Is Do Hwan with you?”
“Oh. You’re alone?”
“Ne. I’ll see you at the lobby, Op-“
“Sunbae.”
“I...”
“I can’t wait too.”
“Annyeong.”
“Oppa.”
Notes:
Happy Holidays, everyone!
Chapter Text
She looked out the window and heaved a heavy sigh, a tear rolling down her face.
It had been like this since she could remember. She still hoped that he’d be there, that he’d come back for her just like he always told her. She didn’t know what happened and the worst part is there was no way she could. She had never felt so helpless.
The last time didn’t feel like the last time. She waited for him on a Friday night by the obelisk and just like every time, he reached for her hand. They were at the kingdom again at the present time that day and it was still blissful even though she had to hide. He cooked for her and cuddled her at night. She lost count of the number of times he had kissed her until they were both breathless. They made love.
There were no signs but was there a chance that she could have missed them?
Because when she stood by the obelisk the next week, he hadn’t come for her. She waited until dawn but there was no Lee Gon. She remembered not wanting to leave, but she was cold and tired. She had left some coins in the phone booth in case he couldn’t stay long but they were still there the next day.
Maybe something important came up. Maybe he had last minute duties or Japan’s threatening the Kingdom again.
She just hoped that he was safe so he could come back for her. Because when that happens, she decided she’d say yes so they’d never have to be apart again. They never have to say goodbye.
Tae Eul kept coming back every Friday night and stayed there even until the sun rises the next morning at times. She made sure that there were always coins inside the booth.
Three years she waited and longed for him and it almost killed her.
It took a stab from a criminal to make her realize that it was over, that he was not coming for her this time, that he was not coming back. As if that wasn’t enough, the necklace he gave her got lost in the shuffle and she never found it again.
She stopped going to the obelisk. She tried so hard to forget him, prayed to God to remove her memories of the other world, of him.
And now, as she stood by her window, tucking loose strands of her greyish hair behind her ear, she said goodbye to the dying flowers in front of her.
She smiled to herself and finally, after thirty years, wished upon a star that at least he lived a happy life, a life that was far from what she lived.
Notes:
I’m sorry.
I’m just feeling really angsty lately.
Chapter Text
They had finished their scene and her smile before she bid him goodbye still lingered in his mind.
He watched her walk away as if making sure she’d get to her van safely even though she was well-loved and taken care of.
And speaking of being well-loved, he happened to hear something about a coffee truck sent to her days ago when they were filming in different locations.
Some of the crews were talking as he passed and he lingered around, not too close to startle them, but not too far away so he could still hear them. He was pretending to scroll through his phone in case they’d notice him but it looked like they were busy.
“It was from Dokkaebi and Grim Reaper!” the dark-haired girl exclaimed happily.
“Omo! They’re still really close. I heard they dated for a while.”
He frowned. He didn't exactly know why he was suddenly jealous. Or maybe he knew the reason very well but he was just not sure about what to do with it.
“Aissh. That’s just a rumor. They're just friends."
Friends.
Just friends.
---
"I don't want to be just a friend."
"Sunbae?" she snapped him out of his trance the next day as they were getting ready for their next scene. "What did you say? Sorry, I didn't quite hear."
He coughed a little. "I said you have a lot of friends."
She looked at him sheepishly and he just nodded at another coffee truck sent by Yoo In Na.
Notes:
Sorry it took me a while to update.
Seriously thinking if I should just do MinEun (just because I miss them so much!!!) for the rest of the letters in this one and just do a separate one for TKEM.
Anyway, drabble drabble drabble.
Let me know what you think. ;)
Chapter Text
They said you will never get over the loss of a loved one. You just learn to live with it.
Sometimes, the grief comes in waves.
And tonight, she found herself waking up in the middle of the night from vivid dreams of her beloved halmeoni.
It was past two in the morning when he searched unconsciously for her tiny frame in bed. He opened his eyes when his arm landed on top of an empty space where she should have been.
Looking at the clock on the bedside table, he tied his robe and went to the kitchen where the light was coming from.
He found her sitting on the bar stool, drinking tea, and browsing on her phone.
He slowly walked behind her and took a peek.
She posted a picture of her halmeoni in instagram.
Without startling her, he managed to give her a hug from behind and a kiss on top of her head.
Thankfully, she didn’t bulge. She rubbed his arm that was wrapped around her soothingly.
“Did I wake you?”
“No.” he replied. “I was going for another round but you weren’t there so…”
“Stop!” she pulled his arms from her body and stood up to turn to him and hit him in the arms as she laughed.
He let her hit him lightly and caught her arm the next time so he could put both on top of his shoulders and slide his hands on her waist.
“Thank you for making me laugh at the most inappropriate times.” she scrunched her nose and he kissed it.
“I was serious.” he grinned.
“Oppa!” she scolded before putting her head against his chest.
He started swaying them.
“I miss her.”
He hummed.
“She would’ve hated you, you know.” she stated and the thought of her halmeoni meeting him made her smile.
“Why do you think so?” he asked curiously.
“She’d say you would’ve been to good to be true.”
“I am not.” he replied thinking if he really was, he probably would be married by the time they film they drama. And he was so glad he wasn’t.
She hummed this time and he closed his arms around her back.
“I am vain.” he started and she chuckled lightly.
“It’s a given. You’re the hallyu king.”
“Hmm. They say I’m a perfectionist.”
“Just hard-working and meticulous.”
“Stop contradicting me.” he scolded and she laughed softly. “I am super clingy and I get jealous easily.”
“That’s true.” she agreed.
“In my defense, you make everyone fall in love with you the first time they meet you.”
She looked up to him as they continue swaying. “You’re the only one who thinks that.”
“Because that’s what happened to me.” he confessed.
“Okay.” she said. “I get it. You’re not perfect. You exaggerate things.”
“No. I don’t ever exaggerate my feelings for you.”
“Oppaaaa.” she whined.
He chuckled softly.
They continued swaying for a few more minutes, their bodies moving as if they were one. She’d let out a breath every time he’d kiss the top of her head and pull her closer if it was still possible.
When she pulled away to look at him, he cradled her face in his hand.
“I promise to take care of you and love you so so much that halmeoni will have to go down from heaven and give me a pat in the back.” he smiled softly before giving her a forehead kiss.
“I lied.” she confessed and he raised his eyebrow. “She’d love you.”
“Because I’m not perfect?”
She shook her head.
“Because I love you a lot too.”
Notes:
Unedited.
I miss them.
Chapter Text
He missed going to the cinemas for private viewing parties with his friends.
He missed going to a bar for drinks after the movie.
He missed catching up with his friends, talking about games and cars, and their careers. Thankfully, his friends were in the same industry.
But his phone suddenly dinged and he became restless.
He started looking at his watch more than he should, making Kim Bum look at his too.
“Ahh. Where did the time go?” the maknae sighed. “I have to go. Early call time tomorrow.”
He smiled and hoped no one saw it.
“Can you drop me home so I don’t have to call my driver?”
It was on the way.
Kim Bum nodded and they bid their goodbyes to the boys.
***
“You can turn left after the intersection.” he instructed and the younger actor furrowed his brows.
“Hyung, I don’t need directions going to your house. Besides, that’s the longer route.”
“Yeah. But shorter to where you can drop me off tonight.” He gives him a not so apologetic smile.
“You said home.” he frowned.
“Yes. Home.” And the infamous dimples showed. “Her schedule finished earlier than expected and we’re going to…
He gave his Hyung a playful punch on the shoulder. “I’m not saying I get it but yeah, I don’t need to hear details.”
“…watch her favorite variety show together.” he continued when laughter died.
Kim Bum suddenly wondered when the home his older friend was referring to was no longer a place but a person.
Maybe someday, he’s understand.
“Actually, can we get some dakbal first?"
Notes:
Because who misses them too?
