Work Header

Movie Night gone wrong.

Summary:

There is a sort of an open secret among Yuuei’s halls, where if one enters a fight with Midoriya Izuku, Midoriya Izuku will come up with a plan. This plan has a higher chance of succeeding than anything that your tiny lizard brains could come up with.
This has led to a unique phenomenon. It is customary, to sit and look like one is coming up with a plan, while waiting for the smart piece of broccoli to come up with one.
Aka: The one time Izuku has a brain fart

Notes:

So this is based off of Star_Fall_Cosplay's skit on tiktok. ( https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMJTg7Jfp/ ) Totally suggest checking them out!
Forewarning: This is absolute garbage but y'all asked for it.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Todoroki Shoto likes to think the end of the world began on February third, 2251. There are three things that Todoroki thought he knew with absolute certainty. His father is a scumbag, Shinsou Hitoshi is Aizawa’s secret love child, and Midoriya always has a plan.

It isn’t hard to figure out the reasoning behind those three core pieces of existence. His father being a scumbag needs no explanation, and anyone with a working pair of eyes and ears can tell that Shinsou is practically a miniature copy of Aizawa. (Todoroki refuses to acknowledge the insufficient age difference.) Finally, in every single altercation Midoriya has been a part of, Midoriya has had a plan, and Midoriya has gotten a favorable outcome.

On February third, 2251, one of those pillars of Todoroki’s existence was shaken. Class 1-A (plus Present Mic) had gone out to see the new documentary: The Pillar of Peace, an animated documentary based off of the fights and interviews of the retired symbol of peace. (Midoriya was so excited, and also in cosplay.)

The problem lies in the villains that took the prime opportunity to try and take down the infamous class 1-A. Normally, this wouldn’t have been a problem, all twenty of them have they’re provisional licenses, and many of them have been on internships.

But Midoriya hasn’t offered a plan, hasn’t even started mumbling.

This is a problem.

It is 10:38 on February third of 2251 and Midoriya Izuku is panicking. There are seven villains. One with what appears to be a touch based implosion quirk with their fingers securely pressed against Kaachan and Iida’s windpipes.

The other six villains hold various weapons, and lack any sort of obvious mutations to tell him what sort of quirks they might possess.

This is an absolute shit show.

As a result, each and every member of class 1-A, minus Bakugo and Iida, who are too angry and too studious respectively to follow standard procedure, will sit and wait for Midoriya to come up with a plan.

This is a problem, but not one that the teachers have tried to fix.

Currently everyone in class 1-A is frozen, waiting for the inevitable instructions from the class’s green bean as the Villains point their guns and make their threats.

It’s getting pretty tense, and Present Mic figures he should say something, anything. “It’s going to be okay, never give up!” Yeah, that seems thematically appropriate while simultaneously being a good motivator for Midoriya. Good job!

Midoriya remains silent, eyes darting over the assembled villains and the two hostages. Not a word passes his lips. This isn’t gonna be pretty.

The villains continue their monologuing and Midoriya’s brain is continuing to race at the speed of light. But he has nothing. Nothing that could possibly be useful at this point in time. His mind is absolutely refusing to cooperate, All he can think about is the fact that the documentary has probably started already and that he’s going to die in an All Might cosplay.

Iida Tenya can feel the pressure of the villains fingers against his neck. He can feel the dull throb of his own heartbeat as the organ tries to pump blood past the firm grip on his arteries.

He isn’t worried. Midoriya always has a plan.

Bakugo Katsuki is not nervous and anyone who tries to say so is lying. He may have no ideas and be waiting for someone else to do something (anything) but he isn’t worried.

He definitely isn’t nervous when he doesn’t hear the telltale muttering of the nerd.

He absolutely doesn’t panic when said nerd calls out to him with his pathetic little “Kaachan?”

“What you shitty nerd!?” he calls back. (And he does not croak.)

“Do you have any ideas?”

“NO I DON’T!”

“Well then I’ve got nothing, sorry guys.”

“Well then I’ve got nothing, sorry guys.”

And ah, well Tenya best start writing his will. If Midoriya can’t figure it out, then there truly is nothing to do but wait for his inevitable demise. Such a shame, at least he knows it couldn’t have been avoided.

On February third, 2251, Izuku Midoriya did not have a plan, and that was both monuments and absolutely trivial.
