Likability

Summary:

What.
It doesn’t make sense, nothings changed?

So why are girls staring at him as he walks by? Why are the boys greeting him like he’s been their friend for years?

And most importantly, Why is his likability so high?
_
alternatively ; Saiki gets a summer glow up and doesn’t understand everyone’s sudden interest.

Notes:

comments and kudos are appreciated!

woah i’m posting again 😧

sorry for any mistakes or bad writing in general, i’m use to writing in a more venty style so this is out of my writing comfot zone-!

But enjoy!

Chapter 1: What changed?

Chapter Text

What happened.

That was his first thought.

He hadn't changed, he hadn't done anything. So what the hell was going on?

Maybe his likability meter was broken. Maybe his telepathy was making a mistake. Yeah that had to be it..

Tho highly unlikely.

So what exactly was going on?
_
"Did you hear about the hot upperclassman!"

"The one with pink hair? Yeah I did!"

"They say he really grew up! He's so handsome! How didn't we notice before!"

"He's considerate too! Not like those other guys.."

Chiyo stopped.

Hot upperclassmen? Huh? She had to get intel. Now she had to know!

"Hi! I couldn't help but overhear! There's a hot upperclassman?"

All three girls turned.

"Oh hi, Yumehara-senpai!" "Yeah I hear he's in Class 3!"

Class 3..? But she was in class 3..

".. Yumehara-senpai?"

Chiyo looked up from her thoughts, all three girls were staring knives into her chest.

"He's in your class isn't he..?"

"Aw well i'm not sure! I haven't been to class yet!"

All tension immediately vanished.

"Oh! Well you have to tell us what he's like!"

"Of course! I'll see you three later!"

Chiyo spun on her heel. She was the queen of romance-! How had she not already met this hot upperclassm....

Her chain of thought stopped as she got to the doorway of the classroom.
His jawline was perfect..
His eyes were a dark purple she had never seen before.. His hair was a messy pink.. but the type of messy you would see on a cover model.

So he's the hot upperclassman.

Now Chiyo understood what all the girls had been buzzing about.

He was as attractive as Teruhashi.. but in a more masculine and mature way.

He looked up giving her the face of someone completely and utterly confused and almost in crisis.

She paused immediately going red from the eye contact.

"Oh uh hi, I'm Chiyo Yumehara! It's so nice to meet you!!" She smiled.

'Make a good first impression. You can do it Chiyo'

"Uh Yumehara.. Why are you reintroducing yourself to Saiki..?"

'What..?

Saiki?!’
_
Teruhashi was panicking. Someone matched her beauty? Someone was just as gorgeous as her?

A boy nonetheless!

She was seething. How dare he? How dare this boy come in and steal everything from her? She's worked too hard too...

No. No! This is perfect.
Two people of their beauty! They'd be unstoppable!

And then Saiki will regret the day he didn't take his chance!

Yes! Yes this is perfect!

....

Until it wasn't.

"What?!"

Chiyo shushed her looking around, before pulling out her phone.

"It's him.."

"Saiki?!"

She was speechless. No, this wasn't fair God wouldn't do this.. God loved her..

That's right! God was on her side!

Who cares if nobody even give him a second glance before!

Who cares if suddenly he was every girls dream..

Who cares if he got so goddamn attractive over summer!

She'd still make him say 'Oh Wow' no matter what!
_
Oh wow.

Saiki stood in the front of the school way. He'd admit, he was going through a minor crisis.

Because believe it or not he had no control over his appearance.

If he did, maybe he wouldn't need to change human  genetics to fit in. But unfortunately this was one power he lacked.

Mind control wasn't gonna work either, because he wasn't entirely sure what even to change.

And with mind control it's all or nothing, he has to be specific or chaos will ensue.

100% likability.

God hated him. God hated him so much.

This was horrible. His classmates thoughts certainly weren't helpful.
And Yumehara's entire little thought process was his nightmare.

As attractive as Teruhashi?

Good grief.

It was going to be a long day. He needed to figure this out.
_
Teruhashi smiled toward the crowd of girls by her desk.

"Do you finally have a crush, Teruhashi-san?" One of them smiled, it was a routine.
She always said the same thing, a small no, and moving on.

But today she was ready.

She'd liked him for so long! And he finally grew to a place where the others would understand!

"Actually I do!"

Everyone. Everyone froze.

Saiki took a deep inhale. That's it. He's switching schools.
_
"Yeah! You are half the school!"

Everyone, still processing Teruhashi's words, turned to look toward the new voice. Mikoto Aiura.

Aiura stood up walking over to Teruhashi's desk. "I didn't realize you were so shallow, Teruhashi-san."

Teruhashi's world shattered.

Shallow?

"W..What?" She croaked out.

"Well it's obvious it's Saiki, right?"

She went stiff, was she going to faint?

"Funny how you only admit to liking him now that's he's attractive."

The room was completely silent, Aiura smiled at the blue haired female.
"Oh and I am a lesbian, I'm not saying this as a romantic rival in anyway. I'm saying it as Saiki's friend.. he deserves better."

And with a smile Aiura exited the room, leaving a shattered Teruhashi and wide eyed students in her wake.
_
'Well that certainly wasn't helpful.'

"I'm sorry, Saiki, girls like her just get on my nerves-!" Aiura muttered, laying down on a bench.

Saiki sat on the ground, thank god for lunch break.

'You know my only goal here is to get out of this as low profile as I can. As much as I appreciate it, your little outbursts aren't gonna do any good!'

"Aw you appreciate it!"

'Don't ignore everything else I said.'

"Uh.. Saiki?" Saiki frowned as Aiura sat up.

'What now?'

Aiura stared before point behind him. Saiki turned, almost falling over in surprise.

10 to 12 girls stood there, all glaring at either other, all the same goal in mind.

Good grief.
_

One girl finally managed to speak up. "Uh.. Saiki-senpai? Sorry to frighten you! But uh.. Please read this!" She bowed her head, holding him up a letter, he slowly took giving her a gentle nod of respect.

Her eyes lit up, as the other girls darken.

The rest all followed suit doing about the same thing each time,

before finally it was just him and Aiura again.

(with the added bonus of 15 love letters)

"Damn.. I wish cute girls were lining up for me like that.."

'Great, Have them. Please just have them '
_
Saiki was modified.

More then 5 years of chipping and hard work to stay as  average as he could, crushed by one day.

He tried all day to tank his likability.

But nothing worked. Nothing.

By the end of the day, his likability was at 102.3% which he hadn't known to even be possible.

He was exhausted, annoyed, and on his last straw.

There was nothing he hated more then attention, and this was too much. He had to do something and he had to do it soon.

He was gonna solve this, surely he could, he was psychic after all.

Chapter 2: Midterms and Migraines

Summary:

Kusuo gets a headache.

He has to take midterms.

What could possibly go wrong?

Also, Kusuke nice to see you, your the same as usual

Notes:

I wrote this on a boat lolol

I was half sick and not too happy with it, but enjoy babes <3

next chapter will be more entertaining i promise, guest appearance from the school news crew

Chapter Text

Kusuo stared at the mirror. ‘Attractive.’ It wasn't a word he would associate with himself.
He preferred words like Average, or normal looking.

Nothing that stood out.

But, his classmates did. This was bad. People would be paying attention to him, and his actions. He couldn't fly under the radar. Even going out in public was hard for him.

What. The. Hell.

It had to be the work of someone else. Something else. He genetically engineered this world so he wouldn't stand out.
He was not about to have it all turned to dust, because of this.. mistake.

That's it. It had to be, just a mistake. Maybe he had thrown himself into an alternative dimension? No, couldn’t have been him. He was more careful then that...

It had to be..

Oh.
_
“Hello Kus-“
The movement was quick but affective. In a moment Kusuke was hurled over, clutching his stomach.
“Aw- Well that was certainly uncalled for..!”

‘What did you do?’

Kusuke looked up at his brother, studying his face with an odd expression, before standing up straight again,

“Right let me guess then. Your features suddenly became more appealing to your classmates, over the course of summer.. and you’ve decided that instead of it being natural course of things, I did something.”
He smiled, “Am I right?”

‘Are you sure your not psychic too?’

Kusuke smiled again, moving to sit down in his chair; “Unfortunately, i had no part in changing your appearance,
You certainly did grow up tho.. Kusuo..”

‘No. It had to be you, with the changes i’ve made, i should blend in, I’m completely average in this world.’

Kusuke tapped the device on his head, simply to remind of his blocker. He couldn’t hear a word his brother said.
“Well nevermind that, I know what your saying, you aren’t average by any extent. You are better then the average human. They are simply monkeys, no idea of anything. You are.. ”

‘No. If your just gonna be creepy and not helpful I’ll leave.’

Kusuke trailed off, smiling toward his brother. “If that’s all your here for,
I’m sorry to inform you I had nothing to do with this.. since your here though.. how about a game of rock paper sciss-“

Good grief.
_
Kusuo stood in his bedroom. Teleporting to London immediately after the idea formed, to sock his brother in the stomach, might not have been the best course of action.
Blaming his brother was reasonable, in his opinion. If not him then who else would be responsible?

And if nobody did this, then why can’t he fix it?

He’s had mind control over everyone to not stand out, so why did it change so drastically?

He couldn’t have changed that much.

He was missing something. He had to be. This.. it just couldn’t be.
Taking a sigh Kusuo fell back onto his bed.
Like he said, He’d fix this. He just had to figure out how.
_
Standing at the school gates.
‘What a pain..’ He mumbled.
Was being average really so hard? Satou pulled it off effortlessly..
Saiki looked around maybe things were back to normal. An avalanche of thoughts him on the head.

Nevermind then.

He’d just avoid everyone. It’d be fine.

“Saiki!”

Nevermind that too.

He didn’t want to look behind him. No. He could just keep walking.

“Saikii-!”

Nobody would notice if he-

“Hey Saiki! Teruhashi wants to talk to you!”
No, he didn’t hear that either.
“Saiki-senpai! Teruhashi-san wants to talk to you!”

Or that.

“Saiki-“ “Saiki!” “Hey Teruhashi-sama says she-“ “Saiki-senpai!” “Hey Saiki?”

Ok that’s enough. He already had a headache.
Not even to mention their thoughts.

“ ‘Teruhashi and Saiki? Makes sense I guess.. I mean the two of them are both so-‘ “

No.

He turned looking at Teruhashi. ‘What.’
“Saiki-! I was...” She trailed off, staring at him. Her face seemed to freeze.
“ ‘I knew he’d gotten attractive but.. I didn’t realize..’ “

That’s enough of that. ‘Is there something you need?’
“Oh yes-! Um..”

“ ‘Come on Teruhashi! Get it together! He’s still just Saiki! Even if his looks are..’ “

Please shut up. Your right it’s still just Saiki.

Saiki’s headache from earlier was increasing by the second.
“-and I was wondering.. would you want to?”

Was she talking this whole time? Good grief.

‘Sure.’

Now let’s hope it wasn’t a date or something he’d regret.
_
It was midterms.
Saiki sat down breathlessly. God this was painful.
Good news being, it was the only thing he needed to do before faking an excuse and going home.

Bad news being, he couldn’t focus on a single thing. The thoughts of his classmates about him hammered him in the back of the head, usually not bothersome but today was too much, specifically the ones about him.

His headache increased again.

Turning to look at his paper he could already tell he wasn’t up for it. Shooting for 90 would be ambitious. He could barely stand the thought of being in this room for any longer.

He’d think about his midterm grades later, he could barely look at the questions.

He finished quickly, scribbling down the answers worst he could. His migraine still pounding in the back of his head.

He ran a hand through his hair. He was panicking. Maybe doing everything in his power to be void of attention had taken his toll on him.
He couldn’t function properly with the thoughts crammed around him.

‘I wonder if Saiki-kun would want to walk home together today’ ‘Is Saiki-kun single..?’ ‘God, Saiki-senpai looks so handsome today’
‘Saiki-kun looks so smart..! I wonder if I could get his help on..’

Saiki, this, Saiki that.

He was going to go insane. He raised his hand, sweeping his hair out of his face.
“Nurse, Headache.” Was all he was able to mutter.
_
Arriving home, he decided he couldn’t put up with this anymore. He had to do something other then sit there.
With him in the spotlight he wasn’t even sure how long his secrets would be safe.
So he’d fix it. He would. Starting off...

Mind control.
That’s what he’d try first, obviously.

Taking a deep breath, the teen stepped forward, linking his mind with that of the worlds, he wasn’t sure of the specifics.

But this should be easy.
...

It was not easy.

Saiki stepped back, sitting down onto his bed. It was extremely hard to pinpoint exactly what needed to be changed, and had he get it wrong the results could be catastrophic.

God. He didn’t want to admit he needed his help.
This really, was truly a worse case scenario.

Good grief.
_

“Back so soon?”

Chapter Text

'Yare yare.'

Kusuke spun around in his chair to face his brother. "I'm assuming you need my help?"
Kusuo groaned, before giving him a quick nod.

Kusuke's face lit up, stepping out of his seat and in front of him  "I'll help you of course.. But how about a quick game of Rock paper scissors first.. just for good measure!"

Saiki just sighed moving over. He could care less about his brothers games, all he really wanted at the moment was to figure out what kind control he was going to use, and if he could.

He played scissors. Not really looking at his brother.

"Oh I lost.. again! So that makes it 4082 now! You don't play scissors too much I'm surprised!"

'Still creepy.'

Kusuke sighed, falling back into his chair. "So what is it you need?"
_
"Kusuo Saiki!" Manako shouted, causing Shouzou to jump.

"What?" He looked up at her. They hadn't had a proper story in weeks, it was about time.
"Kusuo Saiki.. Wasnt he the one who was on that island with Teruhashi?"

She nodded. "Look at him now!" She slammed down a photo in front of him, her eyes lit with a passion.

He had definitely changed.

"No way that's the same guy!" Shouzou grabbed the photo, pulling it close to his face. He took a breath, he was straight..very straight. But even he could admit, the guy was.. beyond fine looking.
"Pfft.. So he got a little more attractive (a lot more) What story do we even have-?"

"Well! I heard that a certain blue haired barbie's gotten a crush..! But everyone's telling me that Saiki is dating that green haired chick.."

"Love triangle!" Shouzou lit up. Finally a decent story!
"Exactly!" Manako grinned. This would be perfect! And if he and the green haired chick really were together.. Then she’d find a way to break them apart, she’d have her news line. No matter what.
_
“..You know. This could just be natural.” Kusuke leaned back in his chair, with a smile.

‘No.’

Kusuo, had taken a seat on the floor on Kusukes lab, as his brother ran tests. Kusuke hummed. “I’m not finding any results for what you want, but! I did discover a few new abilities that i would love to-“

‘No, to that too. Search for dimension displacement again, you’re probably doing something wrong’

Kusuke simply hummed again, “I can tell you’re talking but need I remember you, I can’t necessarily hear you, use your big boy words.”

Kusuo gritted his teeth. He’d forgotten how much of an ass his brother was. After not using his vocal cords for 17 years, they were most likely damaged beyond repair.
There really was no way for him to use “”big boy words”” as Kusuke put it. And they both knew it.

Saiki just glared though the glass, earning a hearty chuckle from the blonde male.
“Im still not finding anything but, what ever you say, baby bro!”
_
“That’s it!”
Chiyo turned to look at her friend, as Kokomi stood up on her bed. “What’s it?”
Teruhashi smiled, sitting down again.

“Yknow I couldn’t like Saiki openly before! Because it would definitely start world war 3-! But now! I can!”
Chiyo smiled, “I know! He really changed..” She found herself turning red at the thought. Of course she still liked Kaidō but.. Saiki was just so pretty to look at now!

She snapped back to the present, turning to look at her friend again. “So what’s the it? You never finished your sentence.” Kokomi grinned, falling back onto the bed.

“I..I’m going to confess to him!”

He had to say ‘oh wow’ to that, didn’t he? The prettiest and most perfect girl in the world confessing to him!

She smiled to herself. This was perfect.
_
This was terrible.

Saiki heard her plan the second he teleported back to Japan. He’d just have to deal with avoiding her later.
His brother had been no help to solving his issue either but had helped him with some side thoughts

So he wasn’t in another dimension.

He wasn’t dreaming.

And it was wasn’t caused by mass mind control that he might’ve accidentally caused in his sleep.

That left two choices, either it was natural, or everyone was suddenly delusional. He decided to go with the latter.

Good grief. God hated him.
_
He was being followed. That was the first thing Kusuo noticed after turning the corner. He’d chosen to wear the Germanium ring today, as it made walking in public easier.

He really didn’t need to know how many people noticed him walk by.

But he was certain of it. Even with out telepathy he was still a psychic. Taking a sigh, he slipped off the ring, looking around.

‘ “There he is! Kusuo Saiki! This is perfect! I bet he’s going to meet up with his secret girlfriend! This news story will be the most popular one to date!” ‘

Good grief.

He’d even attracted the attention of the school news crew. They were the last people Saiki wanted on his back. He had too much to deal with already.

Might as well give them what they want.
_
‘Meet me in the coffee shop, Meru works at, I need your help.’

Aiura sat up in her bed, “Can’t you text me like a normal personn” She groaned loudly at her friend’s request.
‘Shut up, and just meet me there I need your help.’

She hummed, gathering her stuff. Her platonic soulmate needed her. She’s be there straight away!

This PK psychic duo wouldn’t need a third!
_
Saiki tapped his foot on the floor as the door of the coffee shop swung open.
“Kusuoo I’m here.”

Aiura stormed over to where he was seated, falling dramatically in the booth across from him.
“So whatd you need me for anyway.”

He shushed her, choosing to communicate telepathically. ‘The news crew is on my back and Teruhashi is planning to confess. I’ve decided to solve both those problems using you.’

Aiura frowned. She loved Kusuo, of course (platonically) And she’d do anything to help him. But he couldn’t keep using her as an out.

‘Yes I can.’

Oh. Yeah. She had blanked for a moment, she forgot some important things, like, The fact the guy she was thinking about, was a psychic.
“Whatever’s, cant use me this time. I’ll only help you with the news crew. Your lucky I love people taking my photos.”

Saiki smiled satisfactory to himself, as the coffee jelly he ordered arrived. He could hopefully deal with Teruhashi himself. It was just bothersome.

Yare, yare.
_
“Are you sure he didn’t cheat..?”
The teacher in the room nodded, “I even had it looked at by professionals.. they was no way he could’ve cheated and it was proved he didn’t.”

The board of directors turned to each other.
“I mean he is the brother of Kusuke Saiki so we aren’t surprised.. but his grades have been so normal!”

“I didn’t think he inherited the family smarts!”

“He’s got to be a Genius..! Taking after his brother! With rankings this high, he could skip the rest of his high school years!”

“I was looking into his records, and it seems he’s grades were very abnormally high all through preschool to 2 grade!..”

“What happened then?”

The man shrugged, as the head of the Director stood up. “I don’t think he took those tests truthfully, it seems to be he was faking to get 90th place! I’m not sure of his intentions! But i want every test we’ve done here redone by him! With his smarts he could even top his brother!”

The room nodded in agreement.

“Get his parents on the line. Kusuo Saiki’s a genius!”

Chapter Text

'Bang'

Kusuo fell backwards, his head slamming into the table, he laid there a moment, his brain processing as fast as it could. He was shaking, he acknowledged that. He was on edge, he acknowledged that too.

His hands were clamming up, and his breathing pattern was off.

He stood up, calming himself. He was Kusuo Saiki, he was a powerful psychic. He could handle this, of course he could. It'd be completely unbelievable if he couldn't. He took a breath turning to face his family.

Wait.

His family? The room was silent. deadly silent. And not the noise kind, the one you hear, the one that reaches your ears. No, it was a different kind, a kind only Kusuo could hear. Thoughts.

And it wasn't just silent in his house, it was silent everywhere else. He couldn't hear anything. Come to think of it he couldn't hear any outside noise either, it's like the world was.. completely quiet.

Kusuo finally looked up. They were frozen. His mother in place, his father too, the cup he'd knocked down on his father was in midair, unmoving. His mother looked like she was running toward him, probably worried at seeing her son take such a tumble.
His father behind a hand outstretched as if to help. He scoffed at this, the hand was a lazy attempt at best.
He teleported to the street, risky but if his theory was correct then their be no problem.
He paled. It looked like he was.

The entire street was frozen in place, not a thing moved.. as if time had stopped.

Time had stopped... Oh.

He waited a minute for the cool down before teleporting back to check the clock. Not a second had passed.
As he'd suspected. He had been so startled by the news of the phone call his parents had received, that his powers acted out of instinct. Stopping time.

That was a new one. After figuring this out he'd have to talk to Kusuke. He let out a sigh. It was quiet. He smiled, quiet was nice, he really didn't have it too often. Certainly not in the "comfort" of his own home.
He sat down on the floor, grabbing a book he'd never finished and turning the pages. If time really had stopped then their was no need to rush starting it again, was there?

What was the harm really?

It was nice for him to have a moment of peace and all this, earned really. From the likability to his looks, to Teruhashi's plans, with the newly added bonus of the call his parents had gotten, he deserved this. The peace and quiet.
_
It'd been two days.

Well really no days considering time was momentarily paused. But for Saiki it had been. Two full days. He'd worked himself up to start time again, he had. He'd figured out how, but when he went to start it up again, something stopped him.
He wasn't sure, he just needed the break to last.. a little longer. Because after this he'd be force to deal with it. Deal with Teruhashi's confession, deal with the school news, deal with the board of teachers who discovered his smarts.

He paled at the mention of the teachers. That really had been his reason for stopping time in the first place. Teruhashi was easier, do the same thing he'd done to Chiyo ages ago, she'd give up eventually.. or so he hoped.
The news crew, Aiura agreed to help on, which made things again easier..

But the teachers, he didn't know. He didn't want to admit defeat, but they knew. It wasn't hard to figure out but he had to give them some benefit of the doubt. He'd screwed up, that day he'd had his headache, he'd let his really smarts and motives spill. He'd just wanted to get home.

He guessed it was a bit selfish. Pausing time to escape his issues. But good grief was it a pain.
He sighed, settling back next to the table and with a click of his mind, fell back.
_
"Ku-Chan! Oh my! Are you okay? Are you hurt!" His mother ran toward him, checking his head and pushing him off the table. "I know you didn't want things like this to happen, but your just so smart Kusuo! The man on the phone said you could even beat Big Ku!"

'One, No I'm fine. And two, we already knew that.'

His father moved toward them, resting a hand on Kumi's shoulder. "I just don't understand why you would hide it, Kusuo, your brother is right you-"

'No.' He grit his teeth, he hadn't come up with a plan yet. And his window of opportunity was running out.
_
...And it was completely out,

Kusuo stood at the school gates again, he'd been doing that more lately. This was the last place he wanted to be.

Good grief.

"Hey buddy!" He turned, Nendou. He moved as the taller stood next to him. "Why are we standin' out here?"
Saiki bit back a smile, Nendou was the only person who hadn't treated him like something had changed. As much of a nuisance as he was, Kusuo was actually grateful to the other for the sense of normality.

He scoffed at himself, when did he get so mush mellowy about people, especially Nendou of all things.

He shrugged, "Well let's get going buddy, we don't wanna miss class!" Nendou, grabbed his arm tugging him along. Saiki let out a sigh, now or never he guessed, and slide off his ring. A surplus of thoughts smashed into his brain.

So the scores of the midterms were out already it seemed.

Nendou stopped in the hall, "Oh look pal, it's the test things. And there's little guy." Nendou dragging him over to the group of nuisances he called friends.
_
Was he panicking? Maybe.

It wasn't everyday your best friend became the hottest guy in school then got the best score on the exams. He'd worked so hard.
He'd been 5th place for so long, and he was working toward 4th... and then boom, Saiki, now he's 6th.
Everyone around him seemed just as shocked, he tugged on Aren's sleeve.

"What now, Shun?"

"L..look." He pointed toward the top spot, as Nendou trotted over. "Ohh what are we looking at?"

Kaidō turned, "Why don't you look you mor..." He met Saiki's eyes, Nendou had obviously dragged him over here. "Ah Saiki! Sir hello! I- uh I'm so sorry for.. Nendou what the hell you can't just drag him over here he-"

Saiki looked tired, he glared at Kaidō causing him to freeze. "Shun why you acting so weird? What's with calling Saiki 'Sir'?" Aren raised an eyebrow toward his friend, as the blue haired male flared around.

"Congrats Saiki!" "Congratulations.. Senpai!" "Woah! I'm so happy for you Saiki-kun.."

"Come to think of it, why's everyone acting like Shun." Aren wrinkled his nose, eyebrows narrowing.
"Because if that!" Kaidō shouted gesturing towards the scores.

Aren's eyes widen, he stumbled, looking at Saiki then the board. He was in shock, his friend, the one who always got 90th, smack dab in the middle.. was..

1st place, Saiki Kusuo.

There was no mistaking it. He knew Kusuo held back his smarts, but not this much, this was insane. He knew Saiki hated attention it was obvious so why would he let his smarts out now? Aren didn't understand, he felt faint.

All he could hear under all of the commotion was a tired muttered out,

"Good grief."

Chapter 5: Tank it.

Summary:

Tank it. That’s what he’d do. Tank his likability, couldn’t be that hard right?

Jinxed it.

Notes:

hello lovelies-!

I’m sorry for the lack of updates, I’d been facing some minor writers block:)

One thing: minor fourth wall break in the first sentence (I usually hate fourth wall breaks but I felt it was in character enough)

That’s all! I hope u enjoy, darlings!<333

Chapter Text

'Good Grief"

'My question is do you even know where your going with this, Author? Or do you just thrive off of my misery?
...Kusuke are you writing this..?' Saiki rolled his eyes, letting out a pained sigh.

Kaidō was acting like he was royalty, Aren was acting like Saiki was some type of super powered Genius, and Nendou was as always, clueless.
He had enough. Being bullied was better then this. He took a sigh, making his decision.

He was going to tank his likability.
_
Starting first off he decided to do something that had worked the first time they'd played dodgeball.
His likability had gone up because they won it for them.

But it tanked immediately because of...

Nendou!

Saiki took a breath. He didn't necessarily want to hang around nuisance number 1. But it was better then dealing with the other 160 nuisances that had made themselves known lately.
-
"Where we goin' buddy?"

'Please shut up and just follow me around.'
"Whatever you say, Pal!"

Kusuo looked around, some students moved out of the way as they walked through the halls. People were already avoiding him!
He smiled. This was perfect. He knew this plan would work.

He is a psychic, after all.

He got to the classroom, sitting down in his chair. He let out a breath of relief if he kept this up with the way people were avoiding him and Nendou. It would only be a matter of time before they avoided him without Nendou, and he'd get his beloved peace and quiet back.

He looked up as the teacher began talking, he slid off his ring, with a smile.
'Their thoughts are probably about how they were wrong about me and..

" 'Saiki is so sweet! Hanging out with Nendou? Charity work.' "

" 'He must know Nendou doesn't have too many friends! He's amazing' "

" 'He's so dreamy! And kind! And-'"

His eyebrow twitched. He put his ring back on.

Nevermind. It was a terrible idea.
_
His likability went up again. He stood out side the school. He rubbed his temples. He was annoyed. So Nendou backfired right? Well. He had other plans.

He wouldn't rest til he really was invisible at this school!

Speaking of invisible.

"Have any of you seen Saiki?"

No. He snuck off with his school shoes still on. He'd just aport them for his own shoes later.
Worth it in price of avoiding Teruhashi.

" 'Damn it.. I wanted to confess to him. I have a plan and everything! There's no way he wouldn't say 'oh wow' to that!"

Really worth it.
_
Egg the school.

Sure, it might've been a stupid idea but. The school lately had started to hate pranksters.
Lots of people had been complaining about how attention seeking it was.

Getting in trouble was a small price to pay.
Besides, they call his parents, what are they going to?

His mother might actually do something about it. But he could deal with that later.
He moved carefully, grabbing the egg from his basket.

....And it smashed through the wall.

Right. He still can't control his strength.

After a few hours of trying. And by trying. I mean telekinesis, because they're was no way he could've thrown them actually without destroying school property.
He smiled at his handy work. The school was coved in egg whites, and yolk.

He took a breath. Saiki looked toward the building, it honestly gave him a sense of normality. He had egged a school. Like a.. normal teenager.
He smiled again, this time just to himself. He felt normal.

He looked at his watch. Right on time. Students should be arriving about now.
_
"Woah did Saiki do that..?"
"Saiki-kun egged the school...?" "That doesn't sound like him.."

Perfect. It was already starting to-..

"...It's so rebellious!" "He's so cool!" "He egged the school?! That's amazing!"

Saiki's eye twitched. Yeah, he was gonna turn to the dark side soon. Kill a person probably.

"Kusuo Saiki!"

He'd never been so happy to hear the coach yelling his name in such an anger way.
Certainly people would avoid him to avoid Matsuzaki's rage!

"Did you egg the school?!"

Nod.

Here it comes..

" 'He reminds me of me as a boy!' "

What.

"Alright..It's okay. Just try not to do it again. I'm letting you off with a warning since you've had a clean record till now.. and honestly you remind me of me as a boy.

Egging the school.. getting top grades! Brings back my high school years!"

Yeah. He was gonna kill someone.

'Toritsuka. Come here. I need to kill someone.'
_

Saiki took a deep breath. Good grief. Okay so that backfired as well. He slid his glasses closed to his eyes. All else fails he can always switch schools.

One more shot.
_

Fail all class sports.

Starting off basketball!

"Saiki! Team Hairo!" Okay nevermind.

Next; Softball!

"Saiki, you go on Hairo's team." Oh piss off.

Alright third try is the charm.

Three legged race.

"Hairo, why don't u partner with Saiki." God, I don't understand what I did to hurt you so badly.

"For dodgeball we'll need two team leaders.. let's see.. Hairo! and..."

Here we go another person's team I'll never be on.

"..Saiki!"

He lit up. Maybe God didn't hate him. Finally. He had a shot! He'd purposely get everyone on his team out, then miss! Making them lose. He Glanced around sending out a quick apology to his teammates but this was for the greater good!

He picked the worst players. Unfortunately including Kaidō.

And glanced at the coach.

"And go!"

He’d get hit first maybe. It’d honestly be easier. Making no effort to get back in. Hario’s team had the ball first. It came toward him, he smiled. This was it...

Bam

He stared in silence, Kaidō had jumped in front of him. “You can’t just straight up aim for Saiki!” Everyone else nodded in agreement. Kusuo didn’t move a muscle.

Straight up aiming is how u play.

It pinched the bridge of his nose. Right. This wasn’t going to be easy. Why? Because he was dealing with idiots.
-
Ha, he was the last player left. He held back a grin, he hadn’t checked yet, but he could feel their likability go down with every miss. Did he really egg a school? This was so much easier to handle.

He could basically smell his normal life returning..

“Coach! I think this extremely unfair! I can’t watch Saiki face this alone! I’d like...

To switch teams!”

‘I hate you, Hairo.’

Chapter Text

"Saiki-kun!"

'What now' Kusuo moved quickly as a familiar head of blue hair jumped to get his attention. "I was just wondering when you would want to leave today!"

'What? What does she mean?'

He stood there a second before shrugging. He could take off his ring, but he'd heard enough of people outside of his head. He hated the idea of them being in it as well, considering the thoughts others had of him.
Teruhashi's eyes met his. "Well! If you're not sure that's alright, we can always.."

Screw it then.

He tuned her out, mindlessly slipping off his ring. "'Don't tell me he forgot! Who would forget a date the perfect girl asks you too?!'"

Oh. So that's what this is about. A date.

He thought for a moment. Well I never would've willingly agreed to that.
His thoughts drifted before finally a memory dawned on him.

" ' And I was wondering if you wanted to?' "

'I cursed myself with hoping it wasn't a date I agreed to.' Kusuo moved faster, as Kokomi struggled to keep up. "Uh Saiki-kin! Wait up!
I was thinking that since the Carnival closes at 11, we should go around 5!"

'Ok.' Short, simple. This was fine really. He'd make it work. Just like last time.

With a little.. He took a sigh.. help.
_
"You want to take Yuuta to a Carnival at five..? Well I'm not sure.. it's a little late."
"Please mommy! Cyborg cider man version 2 and peach juice lady are going to be there-!" The child whined. Saiki groaned internally.

This worked before, and he hoped it would still have the same effect.

Yuuta clung on to Saiki's shoulder's as he waited by the door. He took a breath this was probably the last thing he wanted to do today.
He slid the ring off. As much as kusuo wanted nothing to do with the inner thoughts of the girl. He also didn't want her making any moves or trying to confess without his knowledge.

Good grief.
_
Teruhashi waltzed down the street. Her eye lit up. A date with Saiki! A real one! Well a sort of real one...
He still didn't show any interest but it was fine.. really it was..
She was perfect! That's all she's need to make him say oh wow!
She'd make him say 'oh wow' once at the cotton candy stand, twice on the ferris wheel, and five times on various different rides.

She'd had this plan once before but it didn't work because of-

She stopped. What was that little vermin doing, on Saiki's shoulders. "Uh Saiki-kun?" She said with a smile, 'perfect. stay perfect. don't break character..'
Saiki looked at her.
He looked disinterested, how dare he! Just because he's pretty now does not mean-

"Hii Peach tea Lady!" The little boy called from his shoulders. He waved, and tugged on Kusuo to put him down.

"Are you-uhm- ready to go..?"

The pink boy just nodded.
_
They walked for a bit, finally reaching the all familiar air of popcorn, and pop-up rides. Saiki let out a sigh as people moved out of the way for them.
It was annoying, drawing this much attention especially in a big crowd.

Teruhashi moved closer to him. "So what do you want to do first?"
He shrugged, honestly he wanted to go home more then anything, "Let's go to the spinning tea cups! Doesn't that sound fun?" She turned her attention to Yuuta. And from the looks of it, he definitely agreed with Kusuo on that.

Kokomi dragged him into the line. He clenched his teeth he could already hear the thoughts of the girls behind him,
"He's sooo attractive!"
Oh, they said that out loud. Saiki stiffened, did they not care if heard them? Despite knowing he crossed his fingers they were not talking about him. Saiki turned around, looking toward the girls for a moment before his attention turned back to Yuuta.
"Oh, I think he just looked at me!" Teruhashi was enraged, how dare they talk about him right in front of her, could they not see them? The perfect couple?
"Ugh, I wish I looked this perfect!" She smiled, him maybe they were acknowledging her! The same voice behind her spoke up again,
"Yes, I got a picture! His pink hair is so cute!" Then again maybe not. She rushed Saiki forward in line. Yes, his hair was cute. But who gave them the right to even look at him?!
"This feeling in my chest... Is this... love?!"
She was seething. No, it wasn't love.

That's it! She had an idea, she had to get those girls to back off..
