Work Text:
sad repetition
always fighting for her ship
lather, rinse, repeat
her Chief Engineer
keeps the ship running smoothly
on spit and duct tape
supplies running low
she’ll need a re-supply soon
where’s the next Class M?
brilliant Seven
searches in Astrometrics
guiding Voyager
a verdant planet
welcome sight among pitch black
abundant plant life
security sweep
looks for any and all risks
Tuvok says it’s safe
shore leave for them all
each of them, in rotation
you too, Kath- Captain?
she hears the question
his eyes ask another one
and she shys away
loving him for so long
is hard but there’s solace
she feels safe with him
always by her side
difficult to be so close
she wants so much more
they’d found a loophole
a way to be together
to love each other
now, only one rule
a protocol of restraint:
never on the ship
off-duty, off-ship
she could let go for a while
she could be Kathryn
a secluded glade
allows them some privacy
and heated kisses
his lips burn her neck
she opens herself to him
he worships her flame
they unite as one
in their coming together
scream in unison
racing hearts and breath
hold tightly through aftershocks
they rest in the glow
nude bodies at rest
heated skin cools in the copse
souls bared to each other
so reluctantly
they untangle, then refit
red-and-black armor
this special moment
leaving them with sad kisses
has to be enough
