Summary
She relaxed comfortably in the sun, not quite napping, but not fully conscious either. Every time she came close to drifting off, the melodic peaks and troughs of his voice punctuating the key elements of the story drew her back in, finding herself needing to hear how it ended – even though, as she reminded herself, she knew exactly how it ended.

Summary
A modern AU set on Dorvan Vineyards in Washington. Chakotay is struggling with a temperamental new crop and calls in a soil scientist, Kathryn Janeway, to help. He doesn't know that Kathryn is finding her way back from a tragedy that has left her shaken, and she doesn't know that Chakotay carries his own struggles when it comes to relationships. When they are thrown together by an unexpected accident and a twist of fate, they both realize there are some parameters they may not be able to keep with each other.
