a lost promise like my love

Summary:

As Touya barely walked, he saw the door of an abandoned warehouse ahead slightly open, and without thinking he began to limp in pain towards it.

Dabi had arrived at the abandoned warehouse 2 hours late from the meeting time, but he was actually watching the person he was meeting with all this time.

A few minutes had passed when he awoke with a rustling sound from his crying sleep. He prayed that no one could see him as he looked around. Just then, he felt enchanted when a pair of golden eyes was glowing in the pitch dark.

Before hearing the footsteps, Hawks felt his presence thanks to the few feathers he placed around, but still didn't turn around until his footsteps stopped. When he returned, he encountered a pair of electric blue eyes that would cause him to disappear in memories.

Chapter Text

Touya searched for a hiding place in the alleys after the huge wildfire he left behind.

He couldn't go home anymore, he didn't want to go anyway. If returning home meant seeing his damn father one more time, he could have lived on the streets forever.

But he was just a 7-year-old boy, his body has a lot of burn marks after the wildfire, there was blood flowing somewhere, but he didn't know where.

As Touya barely walked, he saw the door of an abandoned warehouse ahead slightly open, and without thinking he began to limp in pain towards it.

As soon as he got inside he looked for a good hiding place so that if anyone walks in, they doesn't notice him. His eye caught where there were a few cardboard boxes in the corner and went there. He was still afraid, but at least he had a place to stay.

A few minutes had passed when he awoke with a rustling sound from his crying sleep. He prayed that no one could see him as he looked around. Just then, he felt enchanted when a pair of golden eyes was glowing in the pitch dark.

He moaned with pain from the burns he had caused as he retreated to fear, but he would not leave himself vulnerable. Hoping that he wouldn't hurt himself any more, he raised his left hand and lit the warehouse with his blue flames.

The boy in front of him quickly fled back, frightened by the blue flames appearing before his eyes. As he moved, Touya heard that rustling sound again. But the flames from his hands didn't illuminate much of the boy except his face.

As they both looked at each other, Touya began to feel the pain he always felt in his hand, his face grimacing, but now he would not retreat, he had to live on the street and knew that he could not trust the people here, at least that was what he thought.

Although the child in front of him looked timid, his eyes were bright with curiosity. Before Touya opened his mouth, the boy opposite disappeared with another rustling sound, and Touya found himself staring into the space.

As he looked around carefully, he was trying to listen to the sounds he made. Really, what was that sound? A rustle? Rustling leaves? No, thought Touya, no it's more-- more like a bird flapping its wings maybe?

When he caught the golden eyes again in the darkness, he saw that the boy had a lantern in his hands. He came next to him, slowly turned on the lantern and lighted the warehouse even more.

Ahh, thought Touya, when he saw a pair of red wings opposite him, it was indeed a bird wing. His eyes slid over a packet of biscuits that the boy handed to him, hadn't eaten for days, but was not going to accept anything from someone he didn't know at all.

“You should eat this," he other one was the first to speak. “You don't look very good.”

While Touya stared at him, he tried not to focus on the pain in his hand, but he could no longer bear it, and he barely extinguished the fire in his hand, because no one had teach him how to do it.

“Who are you?” he couldn't help but ask, "Why are you helping me?"

“Keigo!” they heard a shouting voice. Touya saw the golden-eyed boy leaping from his seat and straightening his wings, and knew he was Keigo.

Keigo quickly put the packet of biscuits in his hands and said, “Sorry, I have to go now, but I'll come back tomorrow, I'll try to bring a few things that I think will help, but you must be quiet right now--”

“WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU, YOU LITTLE GODDAMN BRAT!!” the man's voice echoed furiously in the warehouse.

Keigo looked where the sound was coming from and continued to whisper, “Sorry.. I will- I will be back, I- I promise." he had a sad smile on his face, but his eyes shone with faith and hope. Touya felt a great deal of confidence in this boy, who he did not even know yet.
