Impulse would be the first to tell you that paranormal investigation of any sort is a dangerous job. Sure, any job has its risks; mistakes have consequences wherever you work, whatever you do. It just so happens that the consequences associated with ghost hunting are slightly more…dire than for your average job.
Ghost hunting could turn out to be deadly. Not permanently, of course; instant revivals had made sure of that.
Still, returning from the dead…it wasn’t an easy task. Even with the assistance of instant revivals, it's rough. It has...effects, without fail.
Impulse has made it a point to teach every new teammate—Grian, Scar, Gem—that everyone reacts differently to deaths. And especially to being brought back. Impulse, as an example that he provided to the group, explained his own experiences with returning to life.
Recovering from the deaths was never easy, but they’ve always managed. Even when things don’t go quite as planned.
Or, five times the GIGGS crew deals with returning from the dead, and one time things go terribly, horribly wrong.

Gold blood dripped slowly down from a shallow gash on his shoulder, but he didn’t feel it. He didn’t feel much of anything. The only thing that he could feel was a static. His muscles tingled and felt far away as if he had been disconnected from his body. The Stellaron in his chest thrumming faintly. There was a certain ringing in his ears as his head pounded.
It had been 4 days since he went back to the Express, since he had seen any of his family. Of course, he could never go that long without receiving a few texts from each member asking where he’s been. Faintly, that fact made him feel warm inside. He was cared about. But each message he’d just reply with some joke, excuse, or saying that he’d be back soon. Deflections and lies, mostly.
