Work Text:
“Left a bit.” Kai called out from his wheelchair as he was being pushed around the Paralympic Village by his girlfriend. The wheelchair basketball star had found himself heading over to the left, but too much for his liking.
“No right right right! You’re pushing me into the road!” he shouted and held onto his chair which came to a sudden halt.
“I know.” Came a female voice from behind him. “I was going to push you into the road because I’m not completely blind. I can see where to push you.” The young woman smirked.
Kai looked back and up at who was pushing him. It was Emi from the goalball team, who he’d met at an event for members of the Japanese Paralympic team a little while ago.
“You wouldn’t really though?” he half asks Emi, who tries to keep a straight face but gives in as they round the corner to come face-to-face with the accommodation block Team Japan are still moving into.
“Shall we check out our room?” Emi asks as she guides Kai through the remaining luggage, equipment and volunteers to inside the building and in the direction of the lift.
Kai and Emi’s room was only one floor up so they were there in no time. All that remained was to find the room itself.
“Come on then. What direction should we go now?” Emi asked with playful impatience and wrapped her fingers on Kai’s shoulders.
Looking at the numbers he could see on the doors, Kai worked out where they needed to go, which wasn’t too far away from the lift.
“Here we are. Home away from home.” Kai announced as he swiped his key card and the door unlocked with a bleep.
All their stuff had already been placed inside and there was a double bed as they had requested.
“~Goodnight.~” Emi sang and pushed Kai deep into the room before falling face first onto the bed with a thud.
Kai laughed and halted his chair before he careened into the bathroom. He turned himself around just in time to see their room’s door close itself.
“Is there any room up there for me?” He asked and pushed himself over to the bed.
Emi groaned in annoyance and rolled onto her side facing Kai, who lifted himself up onto the bed with her. She took his hands in hers and kissed them.
“Make sure you’re holding a gold medal in these when we go back home.” She told him, to which Kai leant over her and kissed Emi’s left ear.
“And you make sure to use those to win a gold medal too.”
“I promise.” Emi whispered.
“I promise too.” Kai replied.
The lovers Eskimo kissed before officially sealing their promises with a kiss on the lips.
Epilogue
The Paralympics were over, and tonight was their final night in their room in the village.
Kai and Emi were fast asleep in each other’s arms, their two gold medals safely sleeping together on their bedside table.
