Chapter Text
After the ordeal with shaft, sonia's grief and confusion was profound and (even being a vampire)she became bedridden.
Cronqvist manor – sonia’s room 3 months later
Vlad entered her room and took her in his arms like a baby. He had done the exact same thing every day. It was this day that he realized an awful truth: because of what shaft had done, dear sonia was now mute. She seemed to be trying to say something. Vlad put his fingers on her lips and felt the words: my fault. All my fault. Sonia broke down, collapsing back into Vlad’s arms, silent sobs overtaking her. The grandfather embraced his granddaughter, caressed her. They stayed that way the rest of the day and night.
Sonia’s room – the next day
Come now sonia, up you get vlad coaxed. Sonia shook her head. Vlad brushed the hair back from her face and tried again: sonia. Știu că e dificil pentru tine. Nu face aceeași greșeală pe care am făcut-o eu. Trebuie să te ridici acum. Vă rog! Sonia(finally) sat up, looking at her clothes. She shuddered, mouthing: ugh...bath time! Vlad chuckled and called for greta: she’s up.
bathroom
Sonia had a huge smile on her face as she watched the bubbles float around and change colors. Greta was standing on the other side of the tub trying not to laugh. After the bath, sonia untangled her long, damp hair with a wooden comb, then put on the green robe. Then headed into her room to change.
Sonia’s room – closet
Sonia finally decided on a luxurious black dress that showed her clavicle and throat, the skin shining unblemished in the light. Her hair was braided with black silk ribbon and hung over her shoulder.
Sonia’s room
Sonia’s violin hummed. knelt on the floor, knees splayed, with the violin at her chin as she dragged the bow over the strings and drew sound from it. She tested each note, making adjustments as necessary, and tested again. At long last, she looked up and smiled. Then, Sonia’s violin sang once more.
