The Heavenly Emperor Turns Red; A Ghost King Delights

Summary:

As Heavenly Emperor, Xie Lian’s schedule has grown hectic with the dealings of the Court and balancing the politics that come with the job. At the same time, Hua Cheng is left to his own devices when admiring whispers start spreading about the Ghost King’s good looks. Xie Lian doesn’t want to admit it but he finds himself feeling a little jealous… and possessive.

———

He wished he could touch Xie Lian in that moment and he huffed, hands twitching in their restraints behind his back.

“Dianxia,” Hua Cheng praised, shaking, “Dianxia feels so good.”

Sighing, Xie Lian tipped his head forward and murmured, “Shh, I’m in control tonight.”

Work Text:

Xie Lian could not be exactly sure when he first started noticing the atmosphere shift in the Heavens.

Some time had passed; enough so that the legend of the Scrap Immortal and the Red-Robed Ghost King had become common lore in the mortal realm. And enough so that Xie Lian finally felt he was getting a handle on the duties tasked of him as Heavenly Emperor.

It was onerous work that required much greater attention to detail than Xie Lian could have ever anticipated. His days were filled from dawn until dusk with delegating assignments to the civil gods, keeping peace among the martial gods, and sifting through the influx of prayers directed to him. There were constant voices in his ears: the ones of merchants wishing for wealth in their trades, those of academics hoping for success on the imperial examinations, that of magistrates lusting for greater power and infamy. It never ceased.

All this kept Xie Lian occupied to the point of near exhaustion. It had been several nights since he last was able to return to rest at Qiandeng Temple and guilt weighed on his conscience. This was not a role that he had ever imagined himself assuming but following the events that had unfolded, all the gods—both of Upper and Middle Court—agreed that Xie Lian was the best successor candidate.

If Xie Lian were more selfish, he would have declined and spent the rest of his days wrapped in the arms of his husband. But that was a sticking point in itself.

No more scandalous was the fall of the previous Heavenly Emperor than that of the current’s choice in partners. Once disdained by all officials, those in the heavens had established an uneasy alliance with Crimson Rain Sought Flower. He had, afterall, been key in the rebuilding of the Heavenly Capital; both from a financial and spiritual power standpoint. People knew well enough not to broach the subject with their new emperor and to give the smirking Supreme wide berth when he came by for the occasional unannounced visit.

While vaguely aware of the tensions or uneasiness these sojourns brought, Xie Lian’s spirits always lifted when Hua Cheng came calling. Most instances it was under the guise of reporting on some threat that the darked haired ghost had dealt with swiftly and easily. The two sovereigns’ personal relationship had brought about a period of unprecedented peace in all the realms, so these reported skirmishes were nothing noteworthy… but Hua Cheng liked to use them as an excuse to see Xie Lian in action.

When fulfilling his duties from the Great Martial Hall, Xie Lian traded his simple white cultivator robes for the pomp and gilding expected of his station. Similar to that of the attire he wore when a mortal prince, Xie Lian’s iteration of the imperial robes was a fine mixture of delicate hues of cream, gold, teal, and red . His hair was always worn partially up to accentuate his serene face—appearing calm was key when leading so many—but also drew attention to the incomplete set of crimson coral pearl earrings he always wore.

It was well known among the more tenured officials who wore the matching piece to the set.

But for the newer generation, the more recently ascended faces, it was difficult to grasp the full background and origins of their seniors' prejudice; especially when the Supreme was so innately handsome.

Xie Lian first heard it among a crop of newly ascended Middle Court officials.

“It’s been some time since Crimson Rain Sought Flower last visited. We’re likely to see him again soon.”

Xie Lian had been taking some time for himself, seated in one of the many lavish gardens on grounds of his old palace; tucked away behind a high wall but able to hear the passing conversations being had on the main avenue.

At the mention of Hua Cheng, Xie Lian’s ears perked up.

It was not often he heard others in the heavenly realm speak about the ghost without a tone of reluctance or scorn.

“Oh, I hope so! There’s something so thrilling about his aura.” Another voice chattered excitedly.

“Ha! Likely his killing intent, no?”

“No! It’s something more charming! Do you not see the way he looks at His Highness?”

“It’s so romantic. His Highness is so lucky to have such a handsome husband.” This statement was punctuated by a soft dreamy sigh and Xie Lian tensed, his stomach clenching with the words.

The gaggle of deputy officials continued their stroll along the main avenue until their voices were too distant and out of earshot for Xie Lian. By then, the subject of conversation had turned to comparing the strengths among the different martial gods as all discussion of Hua Cheng had passed.

It sat strangely with Xie Lian.

Many times he had casually laughed through the awkward silences that would follow utterance of his husband’s name or even been able to seamlessly switch topics away from any mention of the Ghost King’s past offences. But this occurrence was something new and quite unexpected. The tone was absent of any bitterness or fear; instead, it was praising… admiring… even lusting.

The brunette rose from his spot on the bench and scanned the blossoming trees overhead in contemplation; the smallest of frowns unconsciously tugging at his lips.

Maybe it was finally time to take a short break and return home.

The journey to Ghost City was always a period of transformation for the former scrap god.

Not wanting to cause a fuss upon arrival, Xie Lian would thoughtfully shed his outward appearance of grandeur for his simple cultivator robes. This form, although a far cry from what the general population would associate with the most powerful god in all the heavens, was what Xie Lian felt the most comfortable in. The most himself in. But, he also preferred these robes as it allowed him to slip past the gates without much fuss and mitigated the well-intended cheers announcing the return of ‘Xie Daozhang’.

It was not strange for this domain to be lively and full of cacophony so late into the night. However, it was strange when Xie Lian cracked open the main door to his and Hua Cheng’s shared dwelling only to be greeted by stone silence.

“San Lang?” Xie Lian called, traveling inward down the long main hall. His feet padded softly on waxed floors; his reflection dimly visible in the fine jade columns flanking the front entryway. His voice echoed with his inquiry but there was no response.

While Xie Lian had no expectations for Hua Cheng to be stationed by the door, the dark haired man had an extraordinary knack for always timing Xie Lian’s return perfectly so that he’d be ready with open arms and a disarming smile.

After checking several rooms, it truly did appear that Xie Lian was the only one home. The sight of the empty daybed in the bedroom made Xie Lian realize this was probably the first time that he’d been alone in quite some time. The silence almost seemed to ring in the brunette’s ears and he rubbed at his forehead; weary muscles finally relaxing some as he perched on the side of the divan.

He rested two fingers at his temple. San Lang, where are you?

After a moment, a warm voice answered almost as if the speaker were seated besides Xie Lian.

Gege, you’re back early. I had thought you would be busy for another day at the least.

At this same time, a glowing silver butterfly fluttered before Xie Lian’s face. It bobbed through the air, circling him before coming to land on an extended finger.

I settled most matters for the time being. It should allow me some time before I’m needed back. Xie Lian reclined back on the bed, careful to keep the small creature stable where it clung to him. He brought his hands to rest folded on his stomach while the butterfly periodically opened and closed its wings. And, I thought… San Lang would be home.

Xie Lian couldn’t help the small blush that rose up his cheeks. Even after all of this time, sharing in these small confessions of affection made his heart beat faster.

Gege, I’m sorry. There was some trouble that arose in the East. I’m going to go check it out so it doesn’t cause more headaches and prayers. Hua Cheng responded, voice seeped in repentance. Xie Lian knew the other’s mannerisms like a second nature and imagined his husband’s serious expression when relaying why they’d missed each other.

Is everything alright? Xie Lian blinked, I can come help.

No, no, gege shouldn’t be wasting his time with trivial things like this. Hua Cheng’s tone was insistent. Rest, I will be back shortly. Gege has been working too hard lately.

Xie Lian brought his hand closer, staring intently at the illuminated creature. Are you sure? I don’t mind if it means San Lang can come sooner.

With this, the wraith butterfly flew from Xie Lian’s hand and floated upwards; beating its wings softly as it pressed fluttery kisses to the brunette’s nose. Xie Lian smiled and scrunched his face, laughing lightly before making a gesture as if to bat away the flirty thing.

No need. This San Lang has everything under control. I promise I’ll be back soon. Please rest and I should be back before you wake.

If you’re sure… Xie Lian rolled to his side and rested his head on his arm, hand fanning across the empty sheets besides him.

Part of Xie Lian, the less disciplined part, bemoaned that their reunion was being further delayed but he also was touched by his husband’s consideration for him. Catching a glimpse of himself in the copper mirror a small ways from the bed, Xie Lian registered his exhausted appearance.

Xie Lian snuggled deeper into the sheets, Be careful and wake me when you’re back.

It couldn’t be helped. Another few hours wouldn’t hurt either of them.

I will. Sleep now. I will see you soon.

However...

Just because Xie Lian was now Heavenly Emperor, did not mean that he had broken his streak of terrible luck.

He had barely begun to close his eyes and drift into the inviting clutches of sleep when an unexpected voice called in his private array.

Taizi Dianxia?

Xie Lian exhaled heavily, groggy eyes slowly fluttering open as he prepared to respond to Ling Wen.

When duty calls...

“Argh! Watch out!”

Xie Lian’s body moved before his mind even half-registered Feng Xin’s warning, easily evading the stealthy lunge. His boots slid through the gravel, kicking up a plump of dust as the creature shot past him. At his side, his sword hummed with spiritual energy, poised and ready to land a blow whenever Xie Lian was ready.

The man, or rather, the creature whirled around when it missed its target. This was the reason Xie Lian had been startled from his sleep. It was an urgent request. For the past few months, various villages in the mortal realm had been haunted by some malicious being that was spiriting away daughters. While the events seemed similar to those of that business with the Ghost Groom, this time around the perpetrator truly was male… in a sense.

The being’s form was a mismatched fusion of anatomy. It had the body of a horse, the arms of a spider, and the claws of a chicken. But it was the creature’s face that truly was most startling. Where one should expect to see eyes, a nose, and mouth instead was a smoothed flesh-colored surface. It was learned from gathered intel by the civil gods that this being could transform its face to suit whomever its victim was. To some women, it appeared as a husband or a lover. To others, often young maidens, it adapted itself to be whatever type of man a young girl would daydream about.

But now, the creature’s face was blank as it chittered in rage.

“Why doesn’t this thing settle down already? You’ve already lost!” Mu Qing shouted angrily, gripping his own sword a bit tighter. He hastily pushed the long bangs from his face and shot Xie Lian a look.

It would have been easier to just take this monster’s head but the Civil God Palace insisted on capturing it alive. There was much that could be learned from a shape shifting monster like this. The trio had already landed several blows to the thing so it was only a matter of time until they could subdue it.

“We need to take it alive!” Xie Lian reminded the other two as he slowly sidestepped to circle the enemy.

Sensing this movement, the being focused its attention on Xie Lian; thus creating an opportunity for Feng Xin and Mu Qing once the moment was right.

As Xie Lian and the beast began their face off, feet matching one another at each step, the texture of the creature’s face began to ripple. The flesh started to move; warp, as human features took shape.

First, a proud sloped nose. Then, a set of full lips with a Cupid’s bow. Lastly, a pair of eyes with a thick fan of striking black eyelashes which remained closed for a moment when Xie Lian’s breath caught.

“W-what in the…” Xie Lian’s bones shook; a mixture of rage and a pang of heartache cutting through him.

“Ah! What the hell?” Mu Qing’s voice shouted off to Xie Lian’s left as the brunette dare not take his eyes off the creature that was now wearing his lover’s face.

Actually, while at initial glance, the human face looked to be very similar to Hua Cheng’s, the aura was not quite right. It fell short in capturing the full handsomeness of the Ghost King. This was nothing but a cheap mimic.

“Gege,” The creature spat, shaking with laughter at the storm across Xie Lian’s face, “Come here. It’s been so long. Doesn’t gege worry what this San Lang has been getting up to in your absence?”

Inside, Xie Lian raged. How dare this monster wear Hua Cheng’s face and use his voice. And insinuate something like that

Still, the comment stirred within Xie Lian the same feelings he’d had not so long ago when overhearing the new deputy officials.

He was agitated and tired. It was pesky tasks like this which were keeping him from being able to return home. But now, to have this creature goading him over it was enough to make Xie Lian’s calm demeanor as emperor melt away.

“Dianxia! Brace yourself!” Feng Xin quickly widened his stance, preparing to strike and end this farce.

But there was no need for that.

Eyebrows drawn as he willed the being to catch fire, Xie Lian’s feet moved at the speed of lightning as he pulled his sword. In the blink of an eye, Xie Lian darted towards the creature and cut it two; severing it through abdomen. His movements were accompanied by a crushing burst of spiritual power that even made his companions stagger.

“Ack!” The creature hacked, gasping out one last wretched breath before falling to the ground in pieces.

“Ah…” Feng Xin froze, loosening his knees and lowering his sword.

“…” Mu Qing also wore a look of surprise across his face, taking in the sight of the slain being bleeding out into the dirt.

“How dare you use San Lang’s face.” Xie Lian seethed, shook the blood from his blade, and sheathed his sword.

On either side of him, both Feng Xin and Mu Qing slowly approached and stared at the diced up remnants. A silence fell over the trio as Xie Lian’s rage finally calmed and Feng Xin weakly laughed, “Dianxia, I thought you said we were to take it back alive?”

Xie Lian blinked, “Oh...right.”

“Erm… it’s unusual for Dianxia to lose his level headedness.” Feng Xin began slowly, noting the amount of force Xie Lian had used to slay the creature, “Is everything alright?”

“He has been busy with many matters lately.” Mu Qing commented, dusting some debris from his armor.

Xie Lian opened his mouth, about to respond by default that all was fine, when Mu Qing followed with, “The role of Heavenly Emperor is no easy task.”

Then an idea struck him.

“Actually,” Xie Lian tried to appear nonchalant, “There is a matter I wished to seek both your thoughts on.”

“Of course.” Mu Qing encouraged, pulling a face when Feng Xin rolled the forgotten monster’s head into a large burlap sack he’d had on his person. Afterall, they couldn’t return empty handed.

“Well,” Xie Lian cleared his throat and thought for a moment on how to word things, “I received a prayer recently that I am not sure I am the best equipped to answer.”

“A prayer? What do you mean? It was directed to your altar personally, wasn’t it?”

“That is sort of the problem. This prayer was not designated to any god’s particular temple. It was aimed to anyone in the heavens who can help.” Xie Lian began to pace lightly, kicking some small pebbles along in the dirt. “It’s a matter related to the heart.”

“Ugh.” Mu Qing rolled his eyes, “Why not ask that general god to address? Isn’t he supposedly good with women?”

“That’s not General Pei Ming’s domain.” Feng Xin pointed out. An unaddressed prayer, while less common, was still a prayer needing attention. And by default, all matters which could not be resolved by deputies or gods did fall to the emperor. “What did this prayer ask?”

“They asked… what to do with feelings of jealousy over a lover.” Xie Lian said it before he could regret this silly idea. “They have been increasingly separated from their loved one and they are troubled when others mention their lover’s name with desiring intent.”

“Ehh? Someone is bold enough to pray and ask about this?” Mu Qing laughed, clutching a hand to his chest as his shoulders shook.

“Mu Qing.” Xie Lian frowned and the other quickly remembered his place and stifled his laughter.

“Why not suggest doing a great act of consideration? Something to show the other how much they mean to the person?” Feng Xin suggested.

“Suggest doing something bold. Remind the one how grateful they should be for the other.” Mu Qing interjected and Feng Xin scowled.

“Clearly you have not had much experience with personal matters.”

“At least mine do not end in such disasters unlike other people…”

“What are you insinuating?” Feng Xin barked, squaring up with the other.

“Is it better to be considerate or bold?” Xie Lian asked, wringing his hands.

“Bold and exciting!!”

“Considerate and loving!!”

Feng Xin and Mu Qing shouted their answers at the same time.

“It doesn’t matter to be considerate and loving if the one person is already bored of the other.”

“How do you know if the other is bored? Reminding one of why they care for one another in the first place is what matters.”

“If this lover is so greatly desired that it troubles his lover, you don’t think that person would eventually become bored?” Mu Qing shot back and Xie Lian’s stomach dropped.

“You think he would eventually grow bored?” Xie Lian couldn’t hide the panic in his voice and both men stiffened, eyeing Xie Lian suspiciously.

“Why… why are you asking this?” Feng Xin cautiously questioned and Mu Qing’s face blanched. Catching his expression, Feng Xin’s skin paled in understanding as well.

“Surely this doesn’t have to do with you and Crimson Rain Sought Flower’s personal affairs?”

“No, well-” Xie Lian began but Mu Qing quickly interrupted him.

“Stop!” The man covered his ears and started off in the direction of town, “We don’t want to hear any explanations related to this. Disregard what I’ve said, it doesn’t apply. Let’s drop the subject.”

“It’s not anything-” Xie Lian tried to explain again but Feng Xin quickly followed as well.

“Dianxia’s business is his business. Let’s not waste time if we are done with the task here.”

The two martial gods put a great amount of distance between themselves and Xie Lian within a matter of seconds. They walked briskly towards the nearest town, citing need for drink and shoving the bag which contained the monster’s head back and forth like a hot potato.

Xie Lian watched as their forms became smaller the further down the road they scrambled and he bit his lip, steeling his resolve.

Tonight, he would remind Hua Cheng just how exciting he truly was.

By the time Hua Cheng had returned home that night, Xie Lian had taken all necessary preparations.

Absolutely no one was to disturb him this evening. The Great Martial Hall itself could catch fire and Xie Lian was not to be summoned. Instead he soaked in the great stone bath; partially submerged and hidden among thick wafts of steam. He languished against the rim, draped over so that he could rest his head on his folded arms as he waited.

Despite his relaxed appearance, his heart pounded wildly in his chest; unable to settle as he reviewed his plan in his head. His skin had long ago turned pink with the heat of the water and helped mask the flush to his face as he wondered briefly how Hua Cheng would react.

But there was no time for reflection.

Xie Lian sensed the other man enter their bedchamber before he even heard the tintinnabulation of the bells on his boots.

The figure of another appeared in the threshold, predominantly hidden by the shadows of the room’s dim lighting, with only the faint outline of his form visible. The newcomer was tall with broad shoulders. Stalled in the doorway, he said nothing but simply stared at the sight of Xie Lian nestled in the tub.

Xie Lian did not need to see the man’s face in order to feel the other’s gaze roaming his body, drinking in the sight of his endless legs pressed together and angled to the side in the hazy bathwater. He felt the man study his face and register in the twinkling look of mischief in Xie Lian’s eyes.

There were nights where Xie Lian and Hua Cheng simply held one another after being separated for a period of time. But the latter could already tell this was not going to be one of those such evenings.

Gege …” The man rumbled, voice low and gravelly.

A small thrill of excitement ran down the brunette’s spine and Xie Lian shivered, watching in silence as the silhouette stepped forwards. The candlelight revealed robes red like maple leaves and skin pale like mountain snow. One haunting crimson eye fixated on Xie Lian as a pair of sensuous lips pulled into a pleased smile. His hair, normally a bit tousled and wild, framed the man’s defined bone structure and chiseled jaw. Whatever tasks Hua Cheng had attended today must have required a bit more effort on the Supreme’s part as Xie Lian could smell the deep musk and sweat clinging to the man’s clothing.

Xie Lian rose from the tub, water droplets cascading down his bare body as he stood on display for a moment.

By contrast, Xie Lian’s own features were much softer than his companions. His appearance was equally handsome as it was pretty. Hua Cheng was only able to appreciate his nudity for a moment before Xie Lian grabbed a sheer robe. The garment was thin and gauzy, doing little to adequately cover the brunette but that was why Hua Cheng had gifted it to him for his birthday in the first place.

“San Lang.” Xie Lian drew out the name, fingers dancing along the embroidered collar of the garment. Stitched there was a motif of butterflies and flowers.

The shorter man lazily tied the robe’s corded sash at his waist, not caring as the fabric gaped open at his chest, and stepped from the tub. He sauntered across the room, feet padding softly on the tile, as his hips held the smallest sway to them before Xie Lian stepped to Hua Cheng and snaked his arms around the taller man’s neck.

He stood on his tiptoes so that his mouth could reach the other’s ear and said softly, “I’m home.”

The man’s hands habitually fell to rest on Xie Lian’s waist as he gently tugged the brunette closer so that their bodies were flush, “I’ve missed you.”

Hua Cheng’s form was solid against Xie Lian’s; muscled and warm to the touch. The smaller man smiled and began to kiss along the man’s neck, tenderly brushing away some stray hair and dangling earrings.

“I missed you more.” Xie Lian returned and something flashed in Hua Cheng’s eye.

“Impossible.” The hands holding Xie Lian’s hips soon began to travel down his body until they cupped his rear; each hand spread wide to grab a pert cheek, filling Hua Cheng’s palms. Strong fingers squeezed flesh and Xie Lian gasped, momentarily distracted as the other kneaded and played. “I missed every inch of gege.”

“A-ah… San Lang…” Xie Lian closed his eyes and shuddered, hips rolling backwards into the touch as his stomach tingled with arousal. The fabric was thin and soft but it still created slight friction as Hua Cheng fondled him. The material moved and shifted, rubbing and teasing his skin which was still sensitive from the bath.

In fact, Xie Lian felt a bit more sensitive than usual. He had been playing out his plan for the evening in his head all afternoon and now finally having Hua Cheng—his devastatingly handsome and sexy husband—in front of him was igniting every nerve in his body.

Xie Lian sighed and used his hold on Hua Cheng’s neck to pull the taller man down some. The brunette approached slowly, eyes half lidded and lips parted, as he chastely brought their mouths together. He kissed Hua Cheng’s bottom lip first once, then twice as the other tilted his head to better align their faces. Their noses brushed and Hua Cheng sighed heavily against Xie Lian’s lips; hands massaging in larger circles. He answered Xie Lian’s questing mouth with a more solid kiss of his own, eye remaining wide open as he took in Xie Lian’s beauty up close. It had only been a few days since they’d last seen each other but that felt like an eternity within itself.

Hua Cheng communicated his heartsickness with his mouth, licking and nipping before those plump lips parted and allowed the Supreme’s tongue to delve inside. Their tongues danced while Xie Lian crowded closer and sighed into their intimacy, feeling as if Hua Cheng were trying to fuse them into one. Xie Lian let the other lead for a while, opting to cling tightly to the front of Hua Cheng’s robes before he decided to take charge. He craned his neck and battled the other for dominance, their tongues rolling and working to press down atop one another.

The air grew hot between them and Xie Lian groaned when Hua Cheng squeezed his backside forcefully. The man’s long fingers curled to the underside of his rear, the tips reaching to where the swell met his thighs. Strong fingers spread and slid between Xie Lian’s cheeks, causing the fabric to catch.

Suddenly, Hua Cheng’s index finger sought inwards and upwards to prod at Xie Lian’s entrance.

“Mph!” Xie Lian broke from their kiss, lips wet and glistening.

“And I missed this part of gege too.” Hua Cheng chuckled and used the very tip to circle the textured pucker. He traced around it teasingly and moved his upper thigh to simultaneously rub between his partner’s legs.

“Ngh, San Lang!” Xie Lian hissed, body trembling with a violent shudder at the satisfying friction the movement brought. He panted softly, not even batting an eye when Hua Cheng’s finger finally slipped through his entrance and into scorching heat emanating from within.

It had been so long since he’d felt the other’s touch.

Xie Lian bit his lip while slowly grinding his front against the man’s thigh, half tempted to abandon his plan all together and let Hua Cheng have his usual way with him when Hua Cheng asked, “You’re already prepared here?”

“Ah… that is…” Xie Lian swallowed, trying to calm his rapidly beating heart and refocus on the task at hand.

He pushed at Hua Cheng’s chest gently and the latter carefully pulled his finger free to inspect the coating of oil on his fingertip. He rubbed the substance with his thumb and then looked to Xie Lian with a wolfish grin, eye dancing with mirth.

“As I said,” Xie Lian took both of Hua Cheng’s hands in his own and led him towards the bedroom, “I’ve missed you.”

“What a way to be welcomed home.” Hua Cheng growled and eagerly followed.

The pair kissed as they traveled, half stumbling, as Xie Lian pulled at Hua Cheng’s clothes and the taller man aided. Between fervent kisses, those silver vambraces fell to the floor as did the man’s belt and boots. It was when Xie Lian was insistently tugging at the man’s outer red robe that the couple had to temporarily unlock their lips. But once that article was whipped to some forgotten corner, they were on each other once again.

“We were apart for too long this time.” Hua Cheng spoke between kisses as he ran his hands along Xie Lian’s lithe frame. He ground their arousals together and Xie Lian moaned, furiously untying the front to Hua Cheng’s shirt and pulling that over his head as well.

“En,” Xie Lian panted, pupils blown, “Let me make it up to you.”

Hua Cheng raised an eyebrow, “What did you have in mind?”

Xie Lian kissed him deeply and hooked one leg around the man’s waist. He rose tall on his other foot, pushing his weight up and against Hua Cheng for balance; the new position causing his robe to fall open entirely.

Hua Cheng groaned, reaching to support Xie Lian’s leg and to steady the other as the brunette slowly rocked himself against the swelling in Hua Cheng’s pants. In this stance, Xie Lian’s hips were more open and he was able to find friction for his aching member. He slid himself up and down, sparks of electricity shooting up his spine; his face contorted in a concentration as he teased out his pleasure. The brunette huffed softly as he rutted for a few moments, anchoring himself to the Supreme. Hua Cheng watched Xie Lian in silence, licking his lips and tonguing at a pointed canine as the brunette used his body for his own satisfaction.

The sight made Hua Cheng’s cock throb.

Hua Cheng could feel how wet Xie Lian was as he moved against him. The brunette’s arousal was steadily leaking precum now. The smaller man especially favored running the head of his member against the sharp edge of Hua Cheng’s hipbone and where his Adonis belt started.

Hua Cheng would have been content to watch for a bit longer but it seemed the force of Xie Lian’s actions and Hua Cheng’s miniscule steps to accommodate had brought them to their destination.

Catching sight of the divan, Xie Lian eased his leg back down so that he was standing on his own once more.

He then kissed Hua Cheng deeply; hands stroking and guiding Hua Cheng’s arms to situate behind his own back. The taller could feel the foreign sensation of something clasped in one of Xie Lian’s hands and he frowned, unsure what it was that the other was up to.

“Gege, what are you-”

To his surprise, Hua Cheng suddenly felt Xie Lian’s hands move behind his back. With the speed that could only come with being a martial god, the smaller man twisted Hua Cheng’s wrists together and quickly bound them with the red cord from his robe. He made quick work and drew the knot tight before Hua Cheng had much chance to react; which was unsurprising considering the man never had a need to have his guard up around the other.

And that was what Xie Lian had been banking on.

With the slightest ruddy stain to his cheeks, Xie Lian stood back and gave the man a firm and decisive push to the chest. Balance thrown, Hua Cheng felt the edge of the daybed hit behind his knees and he pitched backwards among the pillows; a look of shock etched on his face.

Xie Lian had restrained him.

And subdued him.

“I-” Hua Cheng found himself at a momentary loss for words. He was not one easily caught off guard… and yet Xie Lian had drastically shifted the dynamics of their bedroom activities in a matter of seconds.

Experimentally, Hua Cheng tried to pull his wrists apart. The thickness of the red cord cut against his skin; strong, but not so strong that Hua Cheng could not snap the bonds if he so wished.

Xie Lian knew this too.

Still, Hua Cheng reclined obediently back against the pillows with one eyebrow raised in amusement.

“Gege,” He started, voice low, “Is acting different tonight.”

The only acknowledgement the brunette gave was the inclination of his head and a knowing smile. Xie Lian leisurely paced before the foot of the bed, using this time to light some candles until the room glowed with a warm hue and the smell of jasmine. Shadows danced along the ceiling with the erratic flicker of the flames as Hua Cheng watched Xie Lian float about, heading turning and following the smaller man’s movements wherever he drifted.

When he was done, Xie Lian took down his hair and let it fall over his shoulders; watching Hua Cheng through his lashes.

“How so?” Xie Lian hummed, slender fingers coming to tantalizingly slip beneath the collar of his robe.

The movement exposed a greater expanse of skin along with a quick flash of the silver chain which hung heavy around Xie Lian’s elegant neck. Hua Cheng had seen the other in various states of undress many times before—often caused by himself—but the sight still made Hua Cheng’s body bloom with a surge of arousal.

Xie Lian took his time removing the covering, revealing one milky shoulder at a time. Then the garment dropped to the floor and pooled around Xie Lian’s ankles as the man delicately stepped out from it.

Hua Cheng drank in every inch of his god’s naked body. Xie Lian’s build was lean and toned with muscle; his limbs long and his stomach tight. His torso was marked by the shadowing of definition and his chest presented two rosy buds. Time and time again, Hua Cheng’s favorite activity was to flick and twist at those small mounds and the man inhaled; arms tugging slightly at his bonds.

“Well,” Hua Cheng looked over his shoulder, “This was a practice I did not know you knew of.”

“I know of many things.” Xie Lian lifted his chin, a cool look to his normally warm amber eyes as he stared down his nose to the man tied on the bed. There was a flare of authority in his mannerisms; a jolting reminder to his status as the most powerful god in all of the heavens.

Hua Cheng’s eye flashed and he sat up a bit more straight; legs instinctively widening.

“Gege, as much as I am enjoying your enthusiasm today,” The prominent bulge in his silken pants was evidence enough of that, “And not that this San Lang is complaining, but I cannot help but wonder what has you all riled up like this.”

Again, Xie Lian chose action over words as he ignored the statement and rejoined Hua Cheng on the bed.

The brunette sank one knee into the bedding and swung his other leg over Hua Cheng’s lap climbing atop the other in a straddle. Only the material of Hua Cheng’s pants separated bare skin from bare skin and Hua Cheng grunted uncomfortably, body tight and sizzling with pent up energy as he remained still out of courtesy for the game they were playing.

Xie Lian’s eyes were lost in thought as he slowly began touching Hua Cheng’s chest.

The Supreme was quite built. He’d spent centuries training his body, mastering all forms of combat and swordsmanship. The hard work had paid off in the firmness of his body; the cut lines in his arms and the solid planes of his stomach. His pectorals were mounded with muscle, rounded and defined, and this is where Xie Lian’s hands lingered. The god’s touch was inquisitive as he smoothed his hands across the man’s chest, feeling the plump swell and firmness as he cupped and squeezed.

Hua Cheng was not one to whine but still a weak noise sounded at the back of his throat, “So… so bold tonight.”

Xie Lian’s exploration continued with tracing the outline of the man’s areola, his hips rhythmically circling and pressing down into Hua Cheng’s lap; his own body thrumming with arousal at the sight of hard muscled flesh laid out before him.

Hua Cheng truly was the most handsome individual Xie Lian had ever seen. It was no wonder that the junior officials, among others, were all enamored with the ghost known as Crimson Rain Sought Flower.

Who would not desire such a man as a lover? A man as powerful as he was attractive. A man whose affections left one breathless and limp from the intensity of his passion. A man who was all dangerous smirks and burning touches.

While Xie Lian was cognizant of the desiring stares from others, it had never truly sunk in until present.

“I can be bold if I want to.” He murmured, lips pursing in the faintest pout as he started to rock in Hua Cheng’s lap.

Hua Cheng’s clothed heat rubbed between the cleft of the Xie Lian’s cheeks and the man hissed, hands twitching and stomach muscles tightening as he jerked. Trapped within the confines of his trousers, Hua Cheng’s arousal raged in throbbing defiance. It curved against the fabric, stretching the silk tight and tenting outwards as it sought escape. Each playful twist of Xie Lian’s hips elicited a breathy sigh from the god and only further stoked the fire building within Hua Cheng.

“A-ah!” The dark haired man flexed upwards, shoulders stinging in their sockets as he tried to gain more leverage. “Yes, you’ve made your point with that tonight.”

“I can be exciting.” Xie Lian gasped, his length trailing small beads of excitement onto Hua Cheng’s abdomen as he slid back and forth. He shuddered, fingers curling into fists, as he resisted the urge to chase down his orgasm.

“Eh?” Hua Cheng questioned, blurry eyed.

“I can be spontaneous.” Xie Lian felt beneath himself and started fussing with Hua Cheng’s pants, tugging the waistband down so that the man’s cock finally sprung free.

Hah.” Hua Cheng dipped his head back into the pile of pillows, teeth bared as he hissed in sweet relief for his freed erection. It bobbed, fat and heavy; the veins raised and pronounced as they ran the length of his impressive anatomy. He blinked rapidly at the wetness in his eye and swallowed thickly. “I want…”

“Hmm?” Xie Lian shifted his weight, using one hand to feel behind himself and gently stroke the column of taut heat poking his rear. The man was so hot to the touch and it pulsed in Xie Lian’s loose grasp, the tip glistening.

“Please…” Hua Cheng rasped, throat dry, “Please let me touch you.”

Xie Lian shook his head, rising up on his knees as he grappled to align Hua Cheng with his entrance. Precum smeared across his skin, smudging against his rim and pressing incessantly into the swell of his left buttcheek as Xie Lian struggled to get into position.

While having ridden the other many times prior, this was the first instance in which it was all up to Xie Lian to… put Hua Cheng into himself. Normally, the other would offer a guiding hand or an assistive adjustment of the hips. It felt different to have Hua Cheng lying down so compliantly beneath him.

“Gege?” Hua Cheng’s voice strained. He hurriedly tossed his head to the side, long bangs askew, as his gaze burned with such intensity that Xie Lian averted eye contact. Xie Lian could feel how tense Hua Cheng was beneath him and how the man’s body shook with restraint.

The god chewed his lip and brought his free hand down between his legs, giving his own member a shy stroke before his fingers danced past his sack and traveled deeper. The pads of his fingers brushed the vestiges of oil which slicked his inner thighs and lubed his entrance. He’d made a point of preparing himself before getting in the bath and he hoped that he’d been thorough enough.

Typically, he required minimal tending to as his intimacies with Hua Cheng were so frequent that his lower half could easily take the Supreme in stride. But some time had passed since he’d last been held and Xie Lian wanted to get to it; skip the usual routine and show Hua Cheng an evening that he’d never experienced before.

With that, two fingers worked their way into his entrance; opening Xie Lian wide as he guided Hua Cheng’s cock with his other hand. The blunt head of the man’s cock tapped Xie Lian’s fingers alerting him that he was properly lined up.

“Are you-” Hua Cheng started but could not finish the thought as Xie Lian slowly started to sink down on his length. “Dianxia!”

The initial resistance was always the most difficult. Hua Cheng’s crown pushed against that tight ring of muscles, urging Xie Lian’s body to open wider, before being sucked inside. Inch by inch, Xie Lian lowered his body on trembling legs down the man’s shaft.

It was a miracle something so large could fit in such a tight body but they’d tumbled so many times prior that they both knew Xie Lian was capable of taking much more than this.

Xie Lian tucked his hips and whimpered.

He marveled at the feeling of fullness in his stomach and how his weight sank himself deeper down onto the other than he was perhaps ready to receive. It edged on uncomfortable but the fast redirecting of spiritual energy into his lower half soothed the intrusion within an instant; allowing Xie Lian to fill himself until Hua Cheng was buried balls deep.

His body flexed furiously around the heat impaling him and Hua Cheng grunted beneath Xie Lian, teeth clenched. It took all of Hua Cheng’s patience not to thrust up immediately as Xie Lian acclimated himself.

Hua Cheng made a pained sound when hearing those words; legs scraping against the sheets but still entangled within where Xie Lian had slid the man’s pants down towards his calves. He tried kicking at the garment, wanting to shake it from him before that too became a new set of shackles for his ankles.

Control was something that Hua Cheng relished. For so many a century, he had struggled to accumulate more power so that he would never be subject to the will of others. Control meant that Hua Cheng could have events unfold in the manner he wanted and that he was able to project what—who—was most precious to him. But with the sight of Xie Lian straddled atop of him, his skin sparkling with the thinnest veil of sweat and a dark look of determination in his eye, Hua Cheng thought that maybe giving up control every now and again wasn’t so bad.

“Oh!” Xie Lian’s moan came out brokenly; furiously flexing as he rolled his hips to grind Hua Cheng against his prostate. His stomach was full and the further Xie Lian leaned backwards, the more he could feel the firm shape of the appendage pressing against his insides; causing the midpoint of his stomach to jut outwards.

“Hah!” Hua Cheng turned his face into the pillows, every muscle in his body strung tight to the point of snapping.

The brunette smiled serenely, touching where his stomach bulged and rubbed the faint outline of Hua Cheng buried in him, “San Lang feels… larger… than usual.”

“Because I have not been able to hold you in some time.”

“Does Sang Lang like it when I do this?” Xie Lian asked coyly, lifting himself up ever so slightly before falling back in Hua Cheng’s lap.

An agonized groan was his response and Xie Lian smiled, getting into a better position so that the real fun could begin. He tucked his legs on either side of Hua Cheng’s waist and placed both hands on the man’s stomach, inching forward off the man’s cock until just the tip was housed within him.

“Dianxia, please…” Hua Cheng spoke softly, chin tucked as he stared down the span of his chest to where he could just glimpse the shape of length disappearing into Xie Lian’s body. “I want to touch you.”

“You can’t.” Xie Lian shook his head before taking a breath and sunk himself backwards. His body easily accepted the intrusion, rubbing his insides, as he pushed himself as far down onto Hua Cheng as he could.

Xie Lian’s breath hitched as he hit that spot deep inside of him and then he aimed for it again.

And again.

Sitting on top of the bound man gave Xie Lian the power to set the pace as he wished. He could speed up when he wanted to feel the slight sting of Hua Cheng sliding in and out of him. He could also slow down when he wanted to shallowly rock and savor the feeling of just how deep Hua Cheng truly was as he rolled his hips in a curricular motion. Each gyration or thrust of his body drew a new muffled sound of frustration from Hua Cheng. The man was doing his best but it seemed each time he started to get into whatever rhythm Xie Lian would set, the smaller man would alter course.

Hua Cheng was hard. Almost painfully so after being celibate for the entirety of Xie Lian’s absence. Solo bodily pleasures were not even worth pursuing as Hua Cheng’s thoughts would instantly turn to that of Xie Lian, and then make him upset that the two were not together in the first place.

But this seemed to be some new method of torture as he watched Xie Lian’s eyes roll back as his sculpted thighs twitched. Xie Lian’s untouched member ached for attention and the brunette grappled for it, sloppily jacking himself as he frantically bounced himself harder.

“Gege, please let me touch you.” Hua Cheng was past the point of caring about his pride as he whined. “Please, please… untie me.”

“Ahhh… yes, hmm…”

“Dianxia? Gege, please?”

As much as Hua Cheng was enjoying this, he knew that something was amiss. What he thought had started out as simple roleplay was clearly a veneer for troubles brewing beneath Xie Lian’s surface. The brunette was distracted, mind working through something as he tuned out his surroundings and continued at his own pace. To have Xie Lian taking the lead with such vigor had Hua Cheng weak in the knees but he was more concerned with why his god had chosen tonight to change up their sex life.

“Ngh!” Xie Lian’s legs trembled as he lifted himself upwards once more, hips tucked so that his spine curved in a lovely arch. Against his chest, that ring on a chain thumped against his breastbone as Xie Lian’s body moved. The brunette’s lips parted to moan out a pleasured sound and Hua Cheng swore, arms pulling against the rope but stopping just short of breaking the restraints.

Hua Cheng wanted to take control; to flip Xie Lian over and plow into him and give his god the satisfaction he wanted. But Hua Cheng had also never been one to disobey his lover and so he was forced to come up with some other method of snapping Xie Lian from his distracted state.

Mustering his strength, Hua Cheng dug his heels into the mattress and violently thrust his hips upwards, skewering deep into the other and throwing the brunette off balance.

“What-oh!” Xie Lian gasped, falling forwards to slump on Hua Cheng’s torso, startled by the movement.

Hua Cheng tightened his stomach muscles and did it again, using all his strength to force his lower half upwards as he rammed high into Xie Lian’s body and lifted the smaller man slightly off the bed.

“S-San Lang! Wait!” Xie Lian cried out, eyes wide and Hua Cheng smirked. Now he had him.

“Dianxia won’t untie me so how else am I supposed to make love to him, hmm?” Hua Cheng questioned, a wicked look in his eye as he bucked upwards again.

Now he had a rhythm down as he repeatedly clenched and unclenched his stomach muscles, jerking in and out of Xie Lian as he spread his legs and used the additional leverage to increase his speed. Soft pants left his mouth as he worked, a bead of sweat sliding down his temple, as he concentrated on thrusting into Xie Lian so quickly that the brunette wouldn’t have time to react and regain the upper hand.

His plan was working given the constant stream of moans and whimpers that left Xie Lian’s mouth as the smaller man curled up against Hua Cheng’s chest and saw stars.

Xie Lian’s body felt like ascension itself. Inside his walls were satiny soft and yet his small body contracted so tightly, Hua Cheng had to slow his rapidity at times to extend his stamina. But, for as much as Hua Cheng was enjoying Xie Lian’s body, the other was enjoying his as well.

“Mm! Ahn!” Xie Lian sobbed, his cock burning from the constant friction of Hua Cheng’s hard body beneath him. He tried to prop himself up on shaking arms only to collapse forwards again when Hua Cheng speared particularly passionately into him.

From how Xie Lian had fallen, with his legs bent and tucked near his sides, Hua Cheng could nearly pull entirely out before thrusting back in. Each inward slam would knock the breath from Xie Lian. The god felt his strength leave him; giving into the intensity and lying completely on Hua Cheng’s torso as he let the dark haired man do all the work.

“You feel so good.” Hua Cheng clenched his teeth, the telltale signs of his climax impending.

The oil Xie Lian had used to prepare himself was starting to grow thin, only to be replaced with the thick creamy substance of precum. It helped slick the way as their bodies met with wet noises.

“Wait! I was supposed to-!” Xie Lian’s statement was cut off as he wailed in ecstasy when Hua Cheng readjusted his hips. His orgasm was suddenly pulled from him and Xie Lian clenched down, hard, as he came.

With a shudder and a curse, Hua Cheng screwed himself up into Xie Lian one last time before his member pulsed and released a rush of fluid. He coated Xie Lian’s insides with an alarming intensity before both men melted into each other; completely winded.

“Did,” Xie Lian struggled to speak, “Did you like that?”

“Mmm, that was good.” The dark haired man closed his eye and focused on the feeling of Xie Lian’s pounding heartbeat where their chests pressed together, “But, gege, what was that? Not that I didn’t enjoy… but tonight felt different.”

“I…” Xie Lian trailed off, “I wanted to try something new. San Lang is always the one taking charge and making me feel good. I wanted to do the same.”

“What do you mean? You always make me feel good.” Hua Cheng struggled the best he could to sit up, easing himself free from Xie Lian’s body as the smaller man crawled off of him and helped untie his wrists. There were the faintest red lines from when Hua Cheng had struggled too hard and Xie Lian frowned, gingerly touching the marks.

“I wanted to be… exciting.” Xie Lian shrugged, conflict still written across his features. “I don’t know, it’s silly. But lately, I wonder if San Lang will grow tired of being with me.”

He lined their hands up and studied the neat red knots both men wore on their ring fingers.

What? ” Hua Cheng nearly choked, thrown by the other’s train of thought. “What in the three realms could make you think that could ever happen?”

He gathered the other in his arms and cuddled Xie Lian fiercely to his chest, “Gege, don’t speak untrue things. What’s happened to make you think like this?”

“People always talk about how San Lang is so handsome and has so many admirers.” Xie Lian couldn’t help how his eyes welled, hugging Hua Cheng back weakly. “He’s even sought after in the heavens now.”

“Well, what do you think of me?” Hua Cheng asked and Xie Lian stiffened, cheeks tinged with blush.

“You’re my everything.” Xie Lian said without missing a beat.

“As are you.” Hua Cheng replied, “Why would gege care about what others speak of me? Let them talk.”

“Because…” Xie Lian’s voice wavered, “Because you’re mine !”

The words escaped the god’s mouth before he could fully reflect on how the thought would sound spoken aloud. A pause hung in the air between both men as Xie Lian sat frozen and Hua Cheng’s eye began to widen in understanding.

Seeing the pieces click into place across his husband’s features, Xie Lian began, “Ah…”

“Gege-”

“No!” Xie Lian shook his head and sat a bit further back in Hua Cheng’s grasp. “Let me clarify.”

“Xie Lian?” Hua Cheng didn’t allow him to escape and kept him close.

The other was growing redder by the second.

“Bah!” Xie Lian threw his hands over his face and made a strangled sound. “Please forget those words.”

“Why would I forget such important words?” Hua Cheng ducked his head and tried to catch Xie Lian’s gaze. “Xie Lian, please look at me.”

“Why?”

“Did you do all of this tonight because you were feeling neglected?” Hua Cheng asked gently. He nuzzled his nose against Xie Lian’s cheek and the smaller man dropped his hands, lip pouted and looking seconds away from bursting into tears. “I’m sorry I wasn’t here the other night when you came home. I wanted to see you but I’m also trying to make your job easier. I can see how busy you are handling matters for those idiot officials and it takes away time you get for yourself.”

“Time with San Lang.” Xie Lian added quietly and Hua Cheng sighed.

“This San Lang has done a bad job of taking care of his god. Let me atone for the error in my ways.”

He guided Xie Lian by the shoulder and encouraged the other to lie down across his legs so that Xie Lian’s upper body lay on the bed while his bottom rested—cheekside up—in the Supreme’s lap. It was similar to the position some parents would take to discipline a child and Xie Lian worried his lip, glancing over his shoulder as if asking what was next.

“You didn’t get to come as much as I’d like earlier.” Hua Cheng eyed the perky globes in his lap and the dribble of white leaking down Xie Lian’s inner thighs. “I’ll make sure gege is taken care of and you’re set with spiritual energy.”

The man used his forearm to press down on the small of Xie Lian’s back, effectively pinning him in place, and then brought one hand to smooth down the swell of his rear. He followed the curvature down to feel between Xie Lian’s legs, his index finger teasingly running through the stickiness between the brunette’s cheeks.

“So wet inside. We can’t let any of this spill out.” Hua Cheng whispered before sinking two fingers deep into Xie Lian’s still sensitive body.

“What? Oh!” Xie Lian jolted at the intrusion.

Aftering having had his husband’s other much larger extremity stuffed up into him, it felt slightly ticklish to be entered. Hua Cheng rotated his wrist and started to feel around within him, fingers scissoring through the warm viscous substance entrapped within him. He languidly followed the shape of Xie Lian’s inner cavern and worked to push what he felt deeper inside of the other; reaching as far as physical limitations would allow his fingers to go.

It felt strange and Xie Lian whimpered, his cock grazing against Hua Cheng’s thigh as he wiggled at the sensation.

“Don’t go anywhere, Dianxia. We have to get all of it.” Hua Cheng warned, wagging his fingers so that he lightly tapped against that bundle of nerves.

“Ahn!” Xie Lian quivered, “D-don’t tease…”

“I’d never.” Hua Cheng smirked as Xie Lian started to writhe and moan across his lap.

“S-San Lang!” Xie Lian pleaded, cock jumping when the calloused pads of Hua Cheng’s fingers dragged against his innerwalls.

“Shh,” The dark haired man hushed, sinking down to the knuckle, “Let me make you feel good.”

The action produced a loud squelching sound and Xie Lian’s face burned red. He whimpered, body shivering at just how good his husband’s long fingers felt as they started to repeatedly thrust in and out of his body.

He was already halfway there while Hua Cheng played his body like a fine instrument; knowing where to rub and how to crook his fingers until Xie Lian was emitting a symphony of pleasured sounds.

The brunette’s mind became scrambled as his thoughts narrowed down to how mind-searingly good it felt. Hua Cheng’s arm pressed down more firmly on his back, trapping Xie Lian and not allowing him to budge, as the man tensed his wrist and started to thrust his fingers faster.

“Ah! Nhh! San Lang, please! Too fast!” Xie Lian blabbed; clawing at the bedsheets, really anything to try and anchor himself to reality as he felt his climax building fast.

Way too fast.

It was like a small vessel battling against the surge of a tidal wave. No matter how hard Xie Lian tried to escape that looming surge, he kept getting sucked closer in the powerful drag. His body was at war with himself, half of the blood in his body pumping through his swollen arousal and the other half rushing to his head. His hair was matted with sweat on his neck and the brunette’s face flushed bright red as he twisted and squirmed in Hua Cheng’s grasp.

“So… good ! Ahn! Slow down… San Lang!” High pitched whines left Xie Lian’s mouth as he practically sobbed from good it all felt.

“We have to make sure that gege gets his fill.” Hua Cheng panted, watching as his fingers plunged in and out of that dusky pucker.

Audible sounds of filth echoed in their bedchamber as Hua Cheng marveled at how his earlier release felt within the soft warm walls of Xie Lian’s body. The white substance oozed and frothed with small air bubbles as he tensed his arm and continued the pace, as Xie Lian’s toes curled.

“W-wait, wait! I’m going to-” Xie Lian’s voice strained, his cock trembling where it rested against Hua Cheng’s leg.

“Come on, Dianxia.” Hua Cheng rotated his wrist and screwed his fingers deep, smiling when Xie Lian cried out hoarsely and finally tipped over the edge.

Xie Lian came with a silent scream and shoved his face into the bedding while his fists wrung the sheets. His hips bucked and his rear clamped down on Hua Cheng’s fingers, as he shot his load out against the man’s thigh. He couldn’t help how messy his release was or how even his feet kicked a little bit as pleasure tore through him. All he could do was succumb to burning in his loins and whimper his way through it.

When his orgasm slowed to a weak dribble of pearly beads, Hua Cheng gently guided Xie Lian to sit upright in his lap and fasten his arms around the god’s waist; pressing a kiss atop his head.

“…” Xie Lian panted weakly, eyes falling shut as he struggled for breath.

He could feel Hua Cheng’s renewed arousal at his lower back as the man hugged him close.

“Did you like that?”

Xie Lian didn’t have the energy to muster a coherent response other than a wobbly nod.

Pleased, Hua Cheng laughed and slowly humped his cock along Xie Lian’s side, “But Dianxia, we aren’t done yet. This San Lang also wants to try something new to impress you.”

“Huh?” Xie Lian’s eyes opened. “Ah! S-San Lang!?”

Hua Cheng folded Xie Lian in half; urging the man’s legs to press together as he hooked his hands behind both of Xie Lian’s knees for support and then lifted upwards. The resulting position had Xie Lian bent; his thighs pressed to his torso, ass exposed, and his weight pitched back against the broad plane of Hua Cheng’s firm chest.

“Hold still now.” Hua Cheng warned, angling his hips as the head of his cock caught at Xie Lian’s rim. He lined himself up and then slowly thrust back inside, thighs tensed as Xie Lian perched in his lap like a doll.

“A-ah mmm!” Xie Lian moaned helplessly, eyes closing shut as Hua Cheng’s searing heat easily pushed high into his body. The new position left his entrance feeling stretched to its limit and he trembled, still sensitive from his orgasm. Hua Cheng was so deep at this angle and he whimpered, “W-when did… San Lang learn this position?”

“I pick up bits of trivia here or there during my travels. My ears are always open for things that I think you might enjoy in the bedroom.” The Supreme nuzzled the brunette’s hair and widened his legs to steady them both.

“I also always want to impress you.” Hua Cheng confessed, placing a firm kiss to Xie Lian’s temple as the man’s fingers briefly squeezed the flesh of his thighs. “I want to make sure that Dianxia looks at no one but me.”

“There was never anyone but you.” Xie Lian returned, turning his head and placing a chaste kiss to the man’s jaw.

“I’m going to move now, Dianxia.” The dark haired man warned briefly and Xie Lian nodded.

Then their bodies began to move, or rather, Hua Cheng began to move for both of them. Hua Cheng started to thrust his hips up and used his hold to keep Xie Lian’s legs lifted high.

Skin met skin as their pace increased and it didn’t take long until Xie Lian was fully hard again.

Xie Lian felt so vulnerable like this. The harder Hua Cheng jacked into his body, the higher the other would hike Xie Lian’s legs. The brunette’s knees firmly rested at his chest and it was making breathing difficult as Xie Lian’s entire form seemed to narrow down to the part of his body Hua Cheng was pounding into. He could focus on nothing but the thick slide in and out of his slippery hole; his arms and legs were just limbs in the way as Xie Lian’s cock nestled trapped up against his stomach.

Hua Cheng fucked into him with such punishing pace that all Xie Lian could do was sit there and wail. Xie Lian’s mouth hung open with a mixture of cries and mewls, as the Supreme nailed that bundle of nerves within him repeatedly. Hua Cheng’s hips moved at a relentless frenzy, finally able to take his god at his own desired speed; and that speed was making Xie Lian’s vision dance with stars.

“Ngh! San Lang, feel so good!” Xie Lian warbled, body singing and vision unfocused. Harder. Harder. Xie Lian wanted Hua Cheng to go harder. He wanted him to slam into him until he couldn’t distinguish the feel of Hua Cheng’s length sinking in and out of him.

For his part, Hua Cheng was not doing much better.

The dark haired man’s body undulated beneath Xie Lian’s, muscles in his rear clenched as he used his core to pump into the brunette’s melting body over again. His arms ached from holding Xie Lian’s legs but still he gripped tighter and pulled them closer, smirking when it earned him a whine from the martial god. Their bodies were sticky with sweat as Hua Cheng’s abdomen kissed Xie Lian’s lower back with each thrust into the smaller man. Hua Cheng knew they’d both be sore tomorrow but right now his thoughts tunneled to chasing down Xie Lian’s impending orgasm.

He could feel how Xie Lian’s body quivered with each piercing thrust and how the fit around his cock had grown tighter. No doubt Xie Lian was nearing the brink and Hua Cheng wanted to be the one to bring the other there.

“Come on.” Hua Cheng whispered deeply, tonguing the smaller man’s ear, “Come for me, Dianxia.”

“Nhh!” Xie Lian wailed, stomach clenching. “Something… is different this time!”

“Show this devoted one how beautiful you look when you come.” Hua Cheng egged, changing pace as his long thrusts alternated into short pulses. His brow knitted as he moved faster and frenzily bounced Xie Lian in his lap while his cock messily plunged inwards and outwards.

But, something else mounted within Xie Lian accompanying the usual tension he felt prior to climaxing. There was a pressure building in his bladder and he whimpered, tensing his stomach muscles as he tried to push the feeling down.

“Ahn! S-San Lang! ” Xie Lian came with a choked sob; throwing his head back Hua Cheng’s shoulder, body spasming, as he felt that explosion of pleasure ripple through him.

He came in waves, accompanied by ragged gasps and whimpers, as his release shot upwards; some even hitting him in the chin. Cum spurted out across his chest and coated his thighs as he climaxed along with something else. As Xie Lian gave into the sensation, the tension in his stomach released, and a clear fluid-like substance squirted from him along with his cum.

“Ngh! W-wait!” Xie Lian’s pleads were punctuated by airy gasps as he shook in shock. His legs flailed and he twisted in Hua Cheng’s hold as his member spurted one last weak trail of bliss. “Mmm!”

Through his ride, Hua Cheng held Xie Lian tight and continued his thrusting; growling at the fluttering contractions around his cock when the brunette came undone. He greedily sucked at his lover’s neck, lapping at skin and tenderly biting as he inhaled Xie Lian’s scent. The smaller man was shaking from head to toe and Hua Cheng grinned, pleased with how great the aftershocks were.

He ground his cock in small curricular motions and waited for Xie Lian to start to come down, “Did Dianxia like that?”

“Hah... wow …” The brunette’s head lolled and he stared up at the canopy above the daybed, heart beating wildly. He tentatively snaked a hand between where his legs were pressed to his front and felt at the liquid coating his stomach in wonder; a deep blush creeping up his neck.

“So beautiful.” Hua Cheng’s voice rumbled in Xie Lian’s ear as soft lips nipped at his shoulder. “I love you so much.”

“Hmm, I love you.” Xie Lian purred and turned his head to answer the other with an open-mouthed kiss.

Their tongues swirled as Hua Cheng carefully let Xie Lian’s legs down and maneuvered the smaller man in his lap. They kissed for some time and during that period, Xie Lian’s hand found its way between them to start stroking the man’s cock which was still rock hard. He expertly rolled his wrist and thumbed the slit; sighing into Hua Cheng’s mouth as he felt the other’s excitement building.

However, right when it seemed that Hua Cheng was nearing his peak, the dark haired man pulled away and easily pushed Xie Lian down into the bedding.

“San Lang?” Xie Lian blinked—now lying on his stomach—and turned his head to the side to try to get a glimpse of the other.

Hands traced the fine slim curve to his waist before cupping a meaty handful around Xie Lian’s upper thighs. Then he felt Hua Cheng’s cock starting to slip into him before the man slammed forwards.

San- !” Xie Lian nearly shrieked, form shoved up the bed from the force of Hua Cheng’s thrust as the man nailed his prostate dead-on. The brunette gritted his teeth and hid his face in the sheets, body shaking from the intensity of it all. Xie Lian felt spent, pushed to the brink of his tolerance and endurance, but somehow he knew the Ghost King was just getting started.

“There.” Xie Lian heard Hua Cheng chuckle behind him, “Does Dianxia like it here?”

“San Lang, please.” The brunette whimpered, his cock twitching back to life when he felt the other’s hold on his thighs tighten.

“Don’t worry,” Hua Cheng smirked, hips pressed flush to Xie Lian’s upturned rear, “This San Lang is going to make sure Dianxia knows how much he is valued.”

When all was over and Hua Cheng had ensured his god reached climax at least several times that night, the pair sprawled exhausted in their bed.

Hua Cheng propped himself on an elbow, long dark tresses flowing over his bare shoulder, as he gazed in admiration down at Xie Lian.

The smaller man’s eyes were still shut, soft breathing falling past swollen lips, as his chest rose and fell in his recovery. The Supreme’s eyes wandered from that rosy mouth and down to the haphazard littering of blossoming kiss marks; some punctuated by the lingering faint shape of teeth. From head to toe, Xie Lian was branded in marks of ownership and it made Hua Cheng wonder how the other could ever feel unsure of just how deep Hua Cheng’s devotion to his god ran.

As if another—mortal or otherwise—was even worthy of a sideways glance.

Not whilst Xie Lian looked debauched and radiated spiritual energy; basking in the afterglow of their lovemaking. Not when Xie Lian’s earlier bout of possessiveness and surprising actions in the bedroom had reaffirmed in Hua Cheng’s mind just how lucky he was to be allowed a glimpse at this version of his god. Not when Xie Lian was everything Hua Cheng wanted but previously dared not dream of.

Attitudes in the heavens may have changed—softened—towards the Ghost King but one thing was for certain…

The dark haired man leaned down, pressing a lingering kiss to Xie Lian’s forehead before speaking with a smile.

“My love for you is undying and unwavering with time.”

THE END
