Chapter Text
Inko Midoriya was just like any expecting mother, a mixed bundle of nerves, excitement and slight dread. Her pregnancy was coming along well, there was only one minor scare at the beginning where she had overworked herself a bit before Hisashi, her loving husband, had insisted that she stay at home and rest for the sake of her and the baby's health. Inko however was now reaching her due date and was out visiting her friend Mitsuki and her newborn boy Katsuki.
“Really Inko, I don’t see why people do this more than once!” Mitsuki gestures crudely to the stroller holding her currently sleeping child.
Mitsuki with all her well managed looks and smooth skin, thanks to her job and quirk, looked like she had not slept for weeks and that was probably the truth considering how loud she and undoubtedly her son are.
“I dunno Micchan, I’m pretty excited for these two and I doubt Hisashi would mind having a couple more…” Inko cuts herself off as a sudden sharp pain and a flood of clear liquid comes out.
“HOLY SHIT INKO YOUR WATER BROKE!!” Was the eloquent reaction of the other new mother across from Inko.
With a rushed explanation to Masaru, Mitsukis much more soft spoken partner, and a call to Hisashi, Inko was rushed to the hospital.

After a grueling nine hours the birth had been successful. Though the doctor and nurses seemed sheepish when they walked toward Inko with a large bundle in both of his arms.
“Ah, *ahem*, Mrs. Midoriya it seems we might have made a slight mistake with your last ultrasound.”
“What do you mean?!” Inko knew it was never a good thing for a doctor to be this cautious especially after a birth. Oh, no did the two not make it through the whole birthing process. Was she just not meant to have kids of her own? Gods what was she going to tell Hisashi, who still hadn’t shown up or responded to the message she left on his answering machine. They had workers so hard for this pregnancy to go well, even if they were both hesitant at first. Or Mitsuki and Masaru who had stood by her for much of the painful experience of childbirth before they had to leave
“There’s no need to worry Mrs. Midoriya it’s nothing too major” Dr. Murayashi calmly started to explain.
Nothing too major!?!! That’s not reassuring at all!! Inko was near tears with worry about what this, frankly ridiculously dramatic doctor, had to say.
“Well it seems that the two heartbeats and forms we saw weren’t actually twins like we had thought,” with those words he tilts the now apparently single bundle toward Inko for her to take, “it looks like your sons(?) quirk manifested in the womb and we just weren’t expecting it given your and your husbands quirks!”
As Inko let the words and the bundle (her son!) settled in, she got a glance of her darling, there was no doubt in her mind that he was a one through and through. He was blearily blinking, already softly crying tears welling up in multiple vibrant little green eyes, and a couple of tears already tracing their way down tiny tiny freckles. He had a small tuft of hair on his head that matched her colour almost perfectly. As She stared down lovingly at her little one, squirming became more and more apparent from the other end of the blanket he was swaddled in.
And suddenly, like a firework that had gone off late or too early, Hisashi burst into the room just as eight little spindly legs popped out of the blanket.
“Oh! Well Izuku, aren't you just full of surprises.” Inko whispered, pulling him ever closer to kiss the top of her little boy’s head.
Much like the silence after the burst of light from a firework the room was filled with a cacophony of shouting and noise. Izuku Midoriya was welcomed into this world with misunderstandings, love, and set of eight eyes and legs.
