Emma: where are you? the bathroom doesnt take 30 mins?
Emma: toby’s weird uncle kept talking to me about taxidermy
Emma: he’s like super into it?
Manny: oh yeah talk dirty to me
Manny: parking lot. couldnt stand to listen to another polka

Emma: liberty is a light sleeper you know this

Manny: so last night i totally knew you were gonna roped into a convo with that old guy
Emma: toby’s uncle? you KNEW??? and you left me there??
Manny: if ur gonna interrupt every text i will simply not text
Manny: see you woke liberty up by trying to hit me, are you happy?
Manny: cannot believe you would ruin her sleep like that

Emma: i will seriously murder you right now

Manny: so i could see that man was wearing a pocket protector and that's against my religion so i exited stage left before i would have to interact.
Manny: and i went to the bathroom and saw terri and she said she was gonna smoke outside and asked if i wanted to join
Manny: i said yes to going outside bc honestly that music was giving me a headache BUT i said no the the cigs bc you raised me well
Manny: and so we were outside for like 2 mins when craig and spinner showed up
Manny: i was kinda surprised to see craig there but not really cuz he posted online that he was in town for angie’s birthday
Manny: but still i didn’t really expect to interact with him so it was awkward and i think terri sensed it bc she kinda just steamrolled over our small talk and started talking about the Plan.
Emma: the Plan? to kidnap toby?
Manny: yeah, to distract their parents and get toby to jimmy’s so he could experience a real graduation banger
Manny: thats not paraphrased, she really said banger, can u believe?
Manny: anyway, spinner was there with craig to be an extra driver because jt only agreed to help if we could all tag along and like, im kinda upset now that i wasn’t in the know about this?
Emma: …
Manny: so they were all just waiting around for ashley and jt to actually do the kidnapping and in that time, craig smiled at me and asked me about my summer plans and then it kind of wasn’t awkward anymore because we were just talking. it was like old times, but not? just a normal and comfortable conversation between two friends who happen to have a past romance
Manny: i really didn’t think at the time that we would do anything more than small talk but then at the party, we had this like, moment of silence and
Emma: AND
Manny: he said that he had a girlfriend
Manny: they’ve been together six months and he said he really likes her
Manny: and is it bad that my first emotion was relief? because it meant that we wouldn’t go down that road again and i could keep talking to him like the friends we were before we ever got together?
Manny: in my head i built him up like some sort of past villain that i had to defeat but he’s still just craig. like, he isn’t my ex anymore, he’s back to being a friend? does this make sense?
Emma: oddly, yes? so if you weren’t ~together~ last night, why did you guys leave the party early?
Manny: he was craving an ice cream cone from shoppers* and at the time it did sound so good, so we walked over there and then just took our time walking here to liberty’s.
Manny: then i texted you and now we’re here
Emma: are you going to see him again?
Manny: probably not, he is flying back to school tonight.
Manny: but i did get his number and we agreed to text
Manny: stop laughing!!! you’re gonna wake up liberty
