Movie Nights

Summary:

Reko responded, “I want to see the movie too. Be glad I don’t just dump you on the streets now and leave you too rot.”

“Kanna would never let you.” Sou reminded her.

“Kanna would never know.”

Notes:

This is a drabble I started back when YTTD was a big intrest that I found recently in my Home AU. It's unfinished but I liked this.

Work Text:

Sou had been standing at the theatre entrance for half an hour. He hadn’t arrived early.  Kanna had already messaged him. She was on her way but the drive was far and there had been a miscommunication. Sou was fine with that, at least she had informed him. The policeman hadn’t showed up yet. There had been no messages.  Sou rolled his eyes. He had generally wanted to see this film as well. He took the popcorn and threw it in the bin.

Beanie Man: @Bucket Girl @Mr Policeman Im leaving without you.

Beanie Man: I want better friends.

He paced outside. His middle finger was at the ready to point at the next bystander to walk past him.  His phone binged but at that point Sou could not have cared less.  The movie had started ten minutes ago. Realistically, he was only missing the ads. That didn’t really matter.

“That was a waste of popcorn.”  Sou looked up to see Reko in front of him. He lifted his middle finger up.  Reko pushed it down.

“You’re at the wrong theatre anyways.  We would’ve picked you up earlier but only Sara remembered that you don’t have a driver’s licence and she just turned up.” Reko stated. She linked her arm around Sou and started to drag him. Sou couldn’t put up a fight. He whined as they approached the car and Reko lobbed the smaller into the back seat.

“I can go in the passenger seat you sick fuck.” Sou hissed.

Reko started the engine. Just before the car moved, she  turned around to Sou. She said, “I don’t want to hear you whining. Buckle in.”  The engine started to whir. Reko pulled out. The female was speeding. There was no way Sou got thrown out of his seat if she was going along at five miles per hour.  He screeched out loud and pulled himself up.  Sou plugged himself in before the car could do another turn. When it clicked, Sou swore he could hear Reko cuss about not dealing enough head trauma.  A bruise would form so she had better be proud of that.

Once he was up, Sou looked out of the window and took for granted the fact Reko hadn’t made him sit in a booster was better than nothing.

“You better not be late.” Sou said.

Reko responded, “I want to see the movie too. Be glad I don’t just dump you on the streets now and leave you too rot.”

“Kanna would never let you.” Sou reminded her.

“Kanna would never know.”

“She’d find out. I still have data unlike you.”

“I can destroy your phone.”

“I can beg and use a payphone.”

“You would never.”

“Oh but I would.”  Sou smirked as he placed down his trump card. The only thing Reko could say now was too kill him. That would end up on the news and Reko would be a prime suspect. He knew he had won before she grated her teeth but it was still very satisfying to know he had gotten on her nerves.

The journey continued in silence.
