Katsuki Bakugo was an exorcist. He could see ghosts as well as touching them. He wasn't being born this way. A tragedy happened in his past that triggered him to see the spirits. He was possessed by an evil spirit once when he was young, and his mother died from saving him. He saw that with his own eyes. The evil spirit transferred from his body to his mother's and made her fall off the window of his room. Life doesn't go well for Katsuki after that. Poverty, and now he's dealing with life tough when he's struggling to pay for his college. Fortunate for him, his family was known for exorcism and people trust his ability. Usually, people would expect him to recite spells or use talismans but Nah. Katsuki just beat them up. Until they decided to fuck off and haunt somewhere else.
Nonetheless, one of his jobs ended up not going smoothly.
It was 3 am. Katsuki was in front of the abandoned school building, all sort of creep and eerie aura surrounding this gloomy, dark place. The building looked as if it was about to collapse but it doesn't. Looked so old and forgotten, teens and even adults came here for doing the test of courage, and most of them ended up injured which they believed, the doing of a ghost. They described him as a horrifying-looking ghost that seemed to be at the age of seventeen, wearing a school uniform and odd colored hair. Then again, every ghost he encountered looked awful so those shit doesn't help Katsuki. He didn't give a damn, though. Any ghost insight he'll just get rid of them. If it was too powerful, Katsuki had his sword. A sword that recited with holy spells and rituals. He'll slash their head off with this. Regardless, he didn't bring one since he assumed, it was a mere spirit.
Katsuki took each of his steps carefully. Eyeing every spot of the walls and the ceiling since some of them love to hang upside down. Especially those long-haired kinds of ghosts. Fuck, Katsuki still couldn't forget how stink the hair was once it brushed against his face. Fucking gross. Dust, cobwebs, and broken tables, chairs, and windows. Katsuki didn't miss checking every room and classroom too but what he saw was just a sight of empty rooms with furniture. By the time Katsuki was starting to get bored, he caught a glimpse of a person in one of the classrooms.
It was a sight of a male student's back. The male was sitting, head looking down and hands holding onto something as if he was reading. Katsuki began to approach the ghost but suddenly, it disappeared in thin air. Once Katsuki turned to his side, the ghost was there. Staring at him nonchalantly. Odd hair, huh. Katsuki could see it. Not only hair, but his whole appearance was also strange. A large burnt scar on his left eye and heterochromia orbs. There's one thing. The description of this ghost being terrifying was a big lie. This ghost was gorgeous and handsome.
"May I help you?"
The ghost spoke which made Katsuki snapped back to reality. The ash-blond took a step backward and stayed in his fighting stance. "Yeah, by letting yourself getting exorcised by me," the ash-blond replied, which earned a head tilt from the ghost.
"Why?"
Katsuki was out of words for a moment. Why does this ghost seem to be fucking clueless? "Because of the havoc you've done, fucktard! You harmed the humans that came here!"
"I didn't," The bi-colored ghost deadpanned. "I tried to greet them but they got scared and ran away. I heard screams and it turned out they fell off the stairs," he added and Katsuki snorted. "I don't believe you. Now die-" Katsuki grabbed the ghost's hand which made the ghost startled, and Katsuki right away slammed the ghost on the floor. The ghost was dumbfounded and hissed in pain. "Why you-" he dodged when Katsuki aimed his fist and swung his foot that landed right on the ash-blond's face. While Katsuki was groaning from the pain of his currently bleeding nose, the ghost had immediately slipped away. "Oi, come back the fuck here!" Katsuki yelled, quickly stood, and rushed to catch after the ghost. The ghost finds this human rather annoying and began throwing things to stop the ash-blond from chasing him. Chairs and tables, everything in sight. Katsuki was able to dodge some but not all due to how quickly the furniture was thrown.
Alas, Katsuki ended up with bruises littering himself and a black eye. He couldn't believe this. This fucking ghost must have learned martial arts before he died. Not all ghosts were as strong as this one. Katsuki was stepping to leave the building, glaring dagger at the ghost who was looking at him through the window. The ghost had a smug look on his face and Katsuki was pissed to hell.

The next day came and Katsuki was more prepared. He didn't bring his sword last time but this time, he brought it. He was so gonna tear this ghost to shreds. Every spirit that was scattered around was all evil, Katsuki believed. They just wanted to feed upon human souls. They have no emotions whatsoever and were just selfish bastards.
"You're here again? Just give up. You sure don't treasure your life," the ghost crossed his arms, rather irritated to see the presence of this obnoxiously loud man again in his 'home'. Well, it would be a comfortable home if humans would stop intruding.
"You're the one who doesn't for not dragging your ass off here," Katsuki exclaimed and pulled out his sword. The dual-colored ghost's eyes fell on the sword, his brows furrowed since he could detect the holy energy surrounding it. This human was getting serious this time.
The ghost gave a last glance before he flew off, which Katsuki chased after him once again. The ghost disliked unnecessary violence. He was just planning to read his novel in peace. Where did he even get it from? One of the adults who did the test of courage here dropped their bag while ran off so this ghost took the opportunity to dig through the human's belonging.
The ghost turned from a corner and looked behind just to see Katsuki was catching up to him. Damnit, he was really fast. A good for nothing athletic man-
Katsuki soon enough arrived inside a classroom, panted from being worn out from running. He eyed the whole room and went towards the broken window, looking outside and down. The bi-colored ghost appeared by the classroom door and Katsuki shortly looked. His lips moved to utter a word but the hand that was held by the side of the window slipped and suddenly, Katsuki lose his balance.
"Hey, be careful!"
The ghost shouted, whisked towards the human, and immediately grabbed the ash-blond's wrist. Katsuki pushed himself forward into the classroom by pulling onto that offered hand and they stumbled on the floor. Katsuki ended up pinning the bi-colored ghost on the floor, their chest would squeeze each other if Katsuki hadn't supported his weight with his hands. However, he wasn't quick enough to avoid their lips from being pressed together.
The two of them were surprised by such an unforeseen event.
Katsuki hastily stood and got off the other, a loud clear of a throat being made as his cheeks were dusted in red from embarrassment. The ghost was still stupefied. It wasn't because of this kiss. It was rather, the short flash of an image in his mind that suddenly popped out while they were kissing.
He saw himself laying on the rainy street.
"Fuck, fuck me. Oi, you there? Damnit, you're a fucking ghost- why the fuck would you even save me?"
The ghost blinked, moved to sit on the floor, and stared up at the other. "I just thought that I should," he simply replied, but the mind still figured to understand what had happened. He lived as a ghost that stayed in this building for two years. And during that two years, he had never once gotten a glimpse of his memories. He couldn't remember anything. His name, his family, even how he died.
"Odd fucking ghost. I ain't making a deal or giving my soul to you if that's what you're planning!"
The ghost stayed silent before he flew somewhere else, which made Katsuki snapped. "Oi! Don't fucking ignore me!"

The ghost disappeared last night. Katsuki returned home after yelled several times like a madman. He wasn't sure if the ghost had left that abandoned building or not, so he was planning to check it again tomorrow night. However, it seemed like Katsuki doesn't have to do that. As soon as he opened his eyes during the morning, he saw a pair of heterochromia orbs staring at him by the edge of the bed.
"What the fuck?!"
Katsuki was infuriated. He should have been used to ghosts sneaking up into his room like this, but none were as annoying as this certain half and half. Having this ghost's presence nearby was such a nuisance and now, he's here to fucking haunt him in his apartment?
"Get the fuck out!!" Katsuki roared but the ghost just approached the ash-blond. Out of blue, leaning close, so close that Katsuki had to move backward or else they would fucking kiss again.
"Hm, I wonder why is it you," the ghost murmured and Katsuki furrowed his brows. "The fuck you're talking about?"
"Let's kiss," the ghost demanded out of blue, and Katsuki's eyes widened, stunned by the ghost's bold request. "No," he hissed.
"Just once," the ghost said again and Katsuki snapped, aiming his fist to punch the ghost but he flew back in time. "Fuck no! Like hell, I want to kiss a damn ghost especially an annoying one like you! I said get the fuck out!"
The ghost frowned. "I won't leave the building if you don't let me stay here,"
"Like hell, I would care! DRAG YOUR ASS OUTA MY PLACE!"
═.✵.════
This is exasperating.
Having a rather stoic looking and quite a chattery ghost following you around, and what made it weirder was this ghost kept trying to kiss you. What a pain in the ass. Katsuki was putting on his coat and prepared himself to go to his class when the ghost was watching by his side, gazing without a single blink.
"Fucking scram," Katsuki growled.
"Oh, a bird just got in," the ghost pointed out of blue and Katsuki looked over. The ghost took that an as opportunity to lean close but Katsuki was quick to pull the ghost by his hair. A small 'ack' left the ghost's lips and he frowned. Katsuki seriously was pissed at every second of this. The ghost even bothered him when he's in class.
Constantly poking the ash-blond's cheek when Katsuki was supposed to pay attention to his study. Damn it, if he yell like how he always did, everyone would just call him crazy for yelling out of nowhere.
And during this moment too where he was buying groceries. This fucker would keep putting several packets of soba in his trolley, not to mention the costly ones. "Why the fuck do you even need these for?! Even ghosts can eat?!"
"It's not a must but I still can. Come on, you wouldn't want me to steal your food most of the time,"
"But ain't this stealing my fucking money?!"
Katsuki admits defeat at last and the ghost made some happy noises. The ash-blond couldn't lie this ghost, despite being stoic most of the time he was rather childlike. And he amused Katsuki. Perhaps, having this ghost around wasn't that bad. Katsuki was living alone all this while. He bet Shoto was lonely too.
"Look at this shirt, Katsuki. I think this will suit you," the ghost pointed his index finger to a random shirt and Katsuki furrowed his brows. "Not my damn style," The bi-colored ghost took the shirt in his hands, which would seem like it was fucking floating in the air, and shoved it to Katsuki. "This will look good on you, though,"
Katsuki pushed the shirt back towards the ghost. "No!"
That goes on back and forth until Katsuki caught a glimpse of a woman, staring at him with a weirded-out expression. Well, who wouldn't? You just see a dude talking and bickering by himself, of course, you would assume something was going wrong with that dude. He was mentally cursing himself at the moment. Blinked once and cleared his throat, acted like such a thing never happened.
Even before the ash-blond goes to sleep, he would cover his face with a pillow to avoid the ghost tried to kiss him during his sleep. The ghost grumbled words like ' a jerk' and 'unfair bastard' but he never wanted to give up. Not until he was able to regain his memories.
Dealing with this clingy ghost by every second became Katsuki's daily routine. The ash-blond couldn't even imagine anymore a day without this ghost annoying him out. Regardless, Katsuki began to secretly love the ghost's presence. The way the ghost pouted when Katsuki didn't want to make him soba, the way the ghost would watch tv in awe by his side or while watching him cooking. The bi-colored ghost's never-ending question was due to curiosity when he saw Katsuki doing his assignments.
Katsuki's life wasn't as quiet and as gloomy as before. It somehow turned, brighter.
While the ash-blond was doing his training, he could see the ghost peeking through the door with his eyes planted on him. When Katsuki followed his gaze that eventually fell on his...abs- Katsuki turned as red as a tomato and quickly covered his torso. The ghost blinked some, noticed he was staring too obviously, and quickly disappeared himself. The ghost was, well, a ghost. However, these uneasy feelings kept bothering him. It wasn't so embarrassing to attempt on kissing Katsuki before but now, a single skin contact made the ghost flushed like crazy.
He wondered if it was just because Katsuki was quite stunning or rather, a developed feeling. Feelings that humans feel towards each other.
"Do you actually love me or some shit?" Katsuki asked, making the ghost next to him lose his posture for a moment. The ghost blushed slightly, finger scratching his cheek due to embarrassment. "N-No. It's not like that...honestly, I don't remember a tiny bit of my past. But in the first time for two years, I got a glimpse of it when we...we..." the ghost huffed some, too embarrassed to admit.
"When we kiss, huh?" Katsuki could catch that pretty quickly. The ash-blond stepped close and cupped the ghost's cheek, staring into those heterochromia orbs of the ghost. The ghost froze for a moment. His mind thought of taking the chance to steal a kiss from Katsuki right there and then but Katsuki looked as if he was going to do it instead. And he was right. The ash-blond pressed their lips together into a tender kiss.
═.✵.════
The ghost still couldn't remember anything.
He was never this frustrated. They have kissed, what's the problem with that? Why his memories haven't yet appeared? So he was determined to stick by Katsuki's side like glue until he got some clue from this exorcist. Other than that, the ghost doesn't see this as a job he was reluctant to do anymore. Katsuki made him feels feelings he had never experienced, and ever since that kiss. They've gotten closer.
He had fallen in love with Katsuki.
As time passed by, the ghost also realized one thing. Of how impossible it was for him to be by Katsuki's side like normal couples. Neither he was able to make the exorcist happy like how others could. There were a lot of things ordinary humans in relationships would do. Going on dates, meeting parents, introduced to the family. But only Katsuki was able to see him. Only Katsuki was treating him like a human being. And that comforted yet pained the bi-colored male at the same time. He knew if his time comes, he'll definitely hurt Katsuki more than anything ever does.
Katsuki was making the ghost felt alive.
The ghost was lost in his own thought, gazing deep into the shop's transparent wall where it usually would reflect a person's image, but there wasn't the ghost's. Of course. Since he was just a spirit, not a living being.
Katsuki caught his attention on the sad-looking ghost, looking at the male with confusion.
"Katsuki. To others, our relationship doesn't make any sense. Maybe this is a mistake after all. Maybe, we shouldn't have been together," tears began to stream down the ghost's cheeks. Katsuki understood what was making the ghost behaved so oddly, what was bothering him so Katsuki embraced him. Keeping the bi-colored latter in his arms, holding the other tight and secure. He seemed to not give a damn of him being seen hugging nothing but air. Nothing matters. This annoying, stoic, and clingy ghost was the only thing that matters to him right at the moment.
"That doesn't fucking matter. Fuck what others would think. I love you. Only you,"
The ghost cried even further, burying his face into the ash-blond's nape. He was a ghost. Katsuki was a human. He should have just focused on remembering his memories and cross over to the afterlife, but he didn't want to leave Katsuki. He didn't want to be apart from Katsuki.
═.✵.════
The spirit ended up avoiding Katsuki. He didn't bother the ash-blond like how he always did and Katsuki couldn't find him anywhere. At night, he noticed the latter was sitting alone on the swing in the park, and Katsuki quickly wrapped his hands around the latter from behind. The ghost's hold on each side of the swing loosened, frowned when Katsuki found him.
"Can you stop about this happiness bullshit? What you're gonna do if I say, my happiness is you?"
The ghost wanted the best for Katsuki. His wish was truly to see Katsuki happy, but he wasn't sure himself it was just a lie to comfort his pained heart. He didn't even know when it started. During all the period he was by Katsuki's side, he felt the happiest at that time. Perhaps, that actually goes the same for Katsuki.
"Don't disappear ever again. I need you," Katsuki tightened the grip, head leaned into the ghost's nape.
"Everything feels okay when I'm with you," the ghost breathed out, his hands held onto Katsuki's arms around him. "When I woke up as a ghost with no memories left, I was so scared and lonely. But not any longer," he turned to face the ash-blond, slightly smiled. "Even if my memories would never return, I'm happy. I'm happy that you're able to see me.
You wouldn't mind if I can contribute much to our relationship? I can't even take a picture with you," the ghost murmured which earned a snort from Katsuki. "Who said I liked pictures? I like the real deal," Katsuki leaned close and the ghost was flabbergasted for a moment, blushed hard. "H-Hey, you'll be called a weirdo if there's anyone around-"
"Who would be out here in the park at such an hour, anyway? I'm just here because your ass decided to do tantrum here,"
═.✵.════
The ghost finally remembered everything.
When he wanted to cross the road and after losing Katsuki's sight anywhere, a car just passed through him and the ghost thought the car looked familiar. Flashes of his puzzled memories appeared and once they're connected whole, he could see clearly. His name was Shoto Todoroki. He was on the way to the public library when he was run over by a car two years ago on this street. He was bleeding to death, and people began crowding him to help. He remembered all of the pain too.
But, he was sure he was not dead yet. He wasn't dead right at that moment. Shoto could see it. The glimpse of the ambulance where the hospital name was written. He changed his intention of went after Katsuki and wandered where could the Shiama Hospital be and once he arrived, he inspected every room.
And there he was.
Lying on the bed with a beeping monitor by his side, and his sister sitting next to his bed while holding his unconscious hand. Shoto was shocked to his very core. "I'm...alive,"
═.✵.════
"Where the fuck did you went off to? Damnit, halfie. I looked for you everywhere-"
"I'm alive, Katsuki," Shoto interrupted which made Katsuki startled for a moment, lips quivered. "What?"
"My name, my name is Shoto Todoroki. I was in an accident and now I'm in a coma, I-" though before Shoto could continue his words, a sharp pain shot through his head, and Shoto bent down, hands clutched onto his head. Katsuki was surprised, handheld onto the ghost's shoulder, and look into the male's features. "Halfie? Shoto? Hey, what's wrong?!"
A flare of images appeared in front of Shoto's eyes. He saw a figure, approaching his unconscious self. But Shoto felt there was something wrong, there was something off with the person's presence. Once Shoto could see it clearly, it was his oldest brother. He seemed to be preparing a syringe..why was he wearing it like a doctor? His brother was never a doctor, he was a chemist- what was he going to inject Shoto's body with-
"S-Someone, someone approaches me, Katsuki! I'm in Shiama Hospital, room 223-" Shoto quickly said, panic in his voice while Katsuki was still dumbfounded, trying to recollect each data he received but he began to feel anxious too once he saw Shoto's self that seemed to be gradually disappeared. "Shoto, Shoto?!"
And with that, Shoto's body disappeared in this air. Regardless, Katsuki didn't waste any time. Quickly dashed to the said mentioned hospital. The hospital wasn't so far from where he was, only a block ahead and as soon as he arrived, he seemed to not give a damn if some nurse that scolded him for running, eyes instantly looked on every passed door until he found the right room. Room 223.
He saw it. Shoto was lying on the bed as if he was lifeless and a strange-looking doctor, injecting a liquid through Shoto's IV bag, his eyes immediately widened. He straight away punched through the man's face, making him drop the syringe. The monitor began beeping like crazy, Shoto's chest rose and fall which increased the ash-blond's aghast. The doctors came running, Katsuki and the strange doctor was told to be outside and cops were called due to the ruckus.
Shoto's brother really intended to kill him. He was the same person who hit Shoto with his car, he had always been despising and envious of Shoto due to the attention his father gave him due to his success. Shoto was a quick learner, way smarter than Toya ever since he was little, and without anyone knowing, Toya has buried the desire to annihilate Shoto for good for so long it couldn't be contained anymore.
Katsuki was allowed to stay after the ash-blond begged the authorities to let him. He'll deal with the cops, later on, he just wanted to know if Shoto was doing fine.
Shoto happened to survive. Moreover, he also started to regain his consciousness.
Katsuki stepped into the room, mixed emotions raging within himself. He couldn't believe it. It was not impossible to be with Shoto all along. Their love wasn't forbidden and Shoto, alas, was able to live like other normal beings. He was allowed to 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦.
Hazy heterochromia orbs scanned through the room until they landed on Katsuki. A gentle, affectionate, and genuine delighted smile sketched on his lips.
"𝐖𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧, 𝐊𝐚𝐭𝐬𝐮𝐤𝐢,"
