Work Text:
Dave heard a lot about heaven while growing up. He heard it from his family and the Christian people that lived around him, both in Dallas and Vietnam.
He wasn’t sure whether he believed it or not.
Until now.
Heaven is this bed, duvet tucked around his legs and a copy of Dune in his lap.
Heaven is Klaus snoring softly at his side, hands clinging to Dave’s arm.
Heaven is their cat tucked against his other side, purring until the bed shakes.
Heaven isn’t the place you go when you die; it’s the place you make while you live.
