Chapter Text
Hi, everyone who still follows the story even after the three years of stalling, I highly appreciate your loyalty. Unfortunately, I had to admit some hard truths to myself in recent days when I tried to continue this story, and that is that too much time has passed, and I don't feel the same passion for this story I used to, and I just can't get any enjoyment out of it. The reveal of Heleria as Nerevarine was the midpoint of the story after which I thought I could take a break and focus on other settings, but I was wrong, since there were just too many fics I ended up writing and distancing myself from this story. Now I have to work on irl and my own books, so I decided it is for the best to leave this tale behind. I am sorry it ended like this, especially after being so adamant on continuing it.
Here are some key elements of the story as it was planned so it doesn't get entirely lost.
- Heleria is the real Nerevarine, but she has made a huge mistake during the Bloodmoon DLC storyline and tried to control the werewolf power instead of curing herself of lycanthropy when she had the opportunity. This led to her killing denizens of Raven Rock that she helped to build in a frenzy, this scarred her for life.
- Ever since, Heleria thought herself unfit to be the Nerevarine. She traveled across Tamriel and eventually found those who helped her to control the werewolf powers, but she lost faith in herself and resorted to a peaceful life in Morrowind. The few influential people who knew Heleria personally(like Neloth) agreed to reshape the legend of Nerevarine and convince the masses that only heard rumours and never saw Nerevarine that the hero was a Dunmer, warrior man, a figure that most Dunmer would imagine and is distanced enough from Heleria so people won't suspect her. She occasionally still used her werewolf powers to hunt criminals.
- She was infatuated with Rialyn as she saw him walking the same path she did in the past. Eventually the two of them developed feelings and decided to fight back against Thalmor and give people of Morrowind hope.
- Vivec city enters a stage of civil unrest with Thalmor and the Empire fighting for control, eventually Rialyn, Heleria, and Neloth return with Telvanni army and bring peace uncovering the evidence of Thalmor secretly aiding Argonians while Nerius discovers Celion's connection to Molag Bal. Camina is disgusted by this revelation and calls off her army's support for Celion who escapes to the mainland.
- The heroes reveal the truth about Heleria and lead the charge against Celion and Argonian army, it is eventually revealed that Celion wants to have Tamriel united to stop the constant wars, but unlike his more conservative colleagues like Camina, he's willing to use any power he can, including that of the daedra, leading him to make a pact with Molag Bal.
- The heroes are able to make a pact with Sheogorath aka Gaerun, the Champion of Cyrodiil, who sends his daedra to help as well as joins in a material projection form. Three heroes of TES games fight the antagonistic force, culminating in Heleria and Rialyn sacrificing themselves to break off Molag Bal's connection via an acnhor, kinda like in ESO. Their souls are claimed by Sheogorath and they live happily ever after on the Shivering isles, becoming Duke of Dementia and Duchess of Mania.
- Dunmer of Morrowind are hopeful and believe they can reclaim their province, uniting with the Empire against Thalmor. Nerius is taken as a prisoner to Summerset by remaining Thalmor forces, hinting at him being the new "hero" of TES.
