Jimin sat on the stairs trying to piece together what just happened. His life crumbling in front of his eyes - how could the person he thought he had built a life with walk away just like that. How could Yoongi do that to him?
Jimin picked up his phone and called his best friend. He needed someone and Jungkook was in Busan visiting family so calling him would be out of question.
“T-Tae can you please come over” he sniffled and tried to hold hisself together not trying to scare or worry his best friend. “he left. Yoongi- I - I don’t know - I - can you come over.” Jimin says as tears roll down his face.
“What do you mean he left? Left to go where? I’m coming let me just let my manager know I’m leaving”

Tae pulls up to his best friends home and opens the door with his copy of the key. “Chim, I’m here.. where are you?” He asks as he walks through the front door. He doesn’t hear a response back and he doesn’t need to because he spots the blond boy on the stairs curling into hisself.
Tae makes his way over to Jimin. Pulling him into a hug and his heart shatters seeing his best friend with puffy red eyes. He asks “What happened min?”
“We got into a fight, he said it wasn’t working out” he says as tears roll down his face. “I don’t know where it came from but he, things weren’t perfect lately I - tae he just packed his stuff. He wouldn’t explain anything when I asked he just said that this relationship was too much for him he said I’m too much and that he needed his space and he needed to go - why? Am I too much? I -”
“Min, wait what? that’s not like hyung” he looks at the blonde boy with confusion in his eyes. Why would he say that. He loves you, he loves you so much.- I’m gonna beat his ass” His best friend says trying to figure out what would cause his favorite hyung to act like that. It’s not like Yoongi, why would he just up and leave.
“Things had been rough lately with my dance practices and with him in the studio all the time but i didn’t think they were this bad. I thought he lov- all couples have issues and i thought we loved each other enough to make it work. I - i just didn’t know things were this bad” he looks at his best friend with tears in his eyes and the taller boy pulls him on to his lap.
“It’s okay, I’m here. We’re all here for you. Let it out okay, it’s okay to cry.” He looks at his best friend- he looks so broken. If this is what Yoongi wanted than he can walk out but how dare he-“ I’m not saying it’s going to be okay because it’s not. If he wants to leave, let him. He’s the one missing out. You’re amazing Jimin, you’re an amazing friend. An amazing person and if he doesn’t want you to be a part of his life than that’s okay because you don’t need to chase after someone that walks away at the first sign of a struggle . You deserve so much more. You’re not too much and the right person won’t ever think that min”

It’s been 14 months since yoongi walked out on Jimin. In the beginning things were hard. Jimin would often wake up crying, or with nightmares on nights he managed to sleep- missing the older boy took a toll on him. Jimin was at a really low point and Taehyung and Jungkook would alternate on being around him to make sure he didn’t spend too much time alone.
During this time Jungkook and Jimin became closer. Taehyung was often traveling because of modeling gigs so Kook spent a lot of time being there for jimin. He didn’t do it because he “had to”. He wanted to.
“Hyungggggg, lets go home. We’ve been at the studio for hours now.”
“Just a bit longer kook, i just can’t seem to get this step right”
“Jiminssi that’s what you said 4 hours ago. Come on I’m starving” said the younger and gave his hyung his puppy eyes that he knew the older couldn’t resist.
“Agh you brat, fine let me just shower quickly and we can head out. Do you want to grab food on the way to my place or we can order to have it delivered”
“Let’s just pick it up on the way.”
“Okay kook, give me 15 minutes, i promise i won’t take long”
“Mhhh” he hummed. He would wait for as long as he had to for Jimin. It didn’t matter how long he took. He would wait.
“Chicken?” The blond boy startled him out of his thought.
“You read my mind.. i want to ask you something jimin -”
“ wait, why are you getting so serious all of a sudden. What’s going on kook is everything okay?”
“W-well. Yes” he said, blush spreading on his cheeks.
“Jimin hyung- i- I’ve liked you for a while, a very long while and I’m patient, i know you might not be ready to get back into the dating scene and i completely understand. I promise i do. I was hoping that when you are ready.. will you consider me?”
The older boy looked up at jungkook with confusion on his face. He couldn’t believe jungkook liked him. When did this happen? How long had he liked him for? Oh gosh, he spent all this time telling him how much he had missed yoongi and all he can think about is how much he hurt the younger by telling him all that.
“Min, i know what you’re doing. Don’t. I didn’t tell you sooner because you were so happy before and then he left. And you needed time to heal- to move on. Please don’t feel bad. I’ve been there for you because I wanted to. I knew it would take time for you to get over him. I know you might still not be over him but I’m here and I wanted you to know that I’m here.”
“Kookie, i don’t know what to say. I am so flattered, i just - i - I’m not ready to date. Not yet at least. I- don’t want to jump into a relationship and make the other person feel like a rebound or not be able to give myself over because I’m working through issues- i don’t want to be selfish because you don’t deserve that but if you’re willing to wait-“
“ Jimin, stop right there. I know. I understand. I don’t want you to feel pressured. I’ve liked you for years and it’s not going to change. What’s a while longer - i wanted you to know not to pressure you into anything but so you knew that I’m here. I’m waiting and I will wait for as long as I have to - just try to give me a chance okay. Let me in”
Jimin looked up at the boy with hesitance. When did Jungkook grow up. He knows he’s not ready. But he also knows what a great person jungkook is. So before he can second guess hisself he says “ I’ll give you a chance- When I’m ready you’ll be the first to know. I just can’t promise it’ll be soon- I don’t know when I’ll be ready kook”
A smile spreads on jungkooks face and he speaks “ that’s all I’ve wanted. Now lets go get a bite to eat because you’ve kept me starving long enough”
“Yah you brat you stayed because you wanted to.”
“Come on Jiminssi”
