Chapter 1: I’ll Let Them Take Accountability

Chapter Text

Katsuki knows his place under the big man. He knows his role and he does it better than any other Angel, even if many tell him he’d fall for his pride.

He doesn’t fall per-say…but he does get denominated to a fuckin’ secretary in Limbo, the middle ground for demons and angels to go through in order to get to the human realm and cause enlightenment or mischief. All he did was curse out his fellow Angel, Monoma, for being an ass all the time. Of course, his superior Vlad took his precious prodigies side.

Katsuki had cursed to high heavens the entire time he pulled his new uniform on. Ugly grey suit and white button down with gold collar pins to differentiate him from the demons working in limbo.

That’s where he met Izuku. He preferred to call him Deku considering how awful he is at his job. He’s a fellow secretary for Aizawa, a demon with a deadpanned expression and bloodshot eyes. Katsuki had gotten stuck with Enji, a hot headed Angel who spent half his time trying to get his hybrid brat under control. The boy was a menace, just like his brother Dabi and demon half brother Natsou. His sister was the only one Katsuki liked. She made the best food, just below his own, of course.

Deku was an awful worker. Sure, he got the job done, but he caused problems left and right. He was clumsy and annoying and Katsuki wanted to punt his face in most days.

He’s also an outrageous pervert under his facade of big doe green eyes and bright smiles

“Quit it, you pest!” Katsuki grumbled as hands roamed under his suit, calloused fingers flickering over battle scars and soft skin.

“Come on, Kacchan, just a little…” Little fangs scraped against his neck and the ex-warrior shivered.

“I told you to quit it!” Katsuki grabbed one his arm, holding his folders in the other hand as he tried to pry him off. He squeaked as two fingers pinched his nipple, flushing bright red at the embarrassing noise he made. He growled and ripped the hand off him, glaring at the demon.

“Keep your hands to yourself, Stupid Deku!” He had half a mind to bring his holy gauntlets to work to blow the pervert up.

“Ah, Kacchan, don’t be mad at me…” Izuku rose his hands in surrender and Katsuki’s brow twitched with irritation at the unapologetic look on the demons face and the wag of his pointed tail.

“I’ll kill you.”

“That’s a sin, Kacchan!” Izuku’s eyes widened with a look of concern. “Don’t be rash now!” Stupid idiot, acting like he cared if Katsuki fell.

“Get fucked.” He grumbled and stomped off to deliver his files to Enji.

He should file a compliant against Izuku for sexual harassment. Every damn day for months now! The demon needed a hobby outside his chest and ass!

At least the demon had enough brains not to taint his wings. Katsuki kept them folded up against his back during work, under a white cloak. He didn’t like others seeing them. His years as a warrior had left them…less pretty than the younger, newer angels.

Not that Katsuki was ashamed of being one of the firsts, the ones who stayed by HIS side during the Great War against AFO. The Enemy had been banished to the deepest pit of hell to never escape and Katsuki had done everything in his power to keep it that way. Had sacrificed the beautiful white plumage he had in the burning, void depth of those pits.

HE had rewarded him for his efforts, had revived his battered body. He barely remembered the war, only snippets of someone he once was. He only carried the scars, a show of his victory. A reflection of his new name. Katsuki.

Katsuki ruffled his wings against his back, shifting them through the phantom pains as he continued on with his shift.

At least Izuku had enough decency to leave his wings alone.

🌗🌗🌗

“Kacchan~!” Katsuki staggered as the pesky demon nuzzled into his chest, grinning up at him as his hands pulled his shirt from his waistband to cop a feel.

“Quit it, you horny bastard!” Katsuki growled and hit him over the head with his papers. The demon whined but didn’t stop his efforts to squeeze his pecs, teasing his nipples. The Angel huffed with flush. He hated that he was so used to this that his body was reacting to it now. Stupid demon.

“Ahh, Kacchan, your skin is so soft~” Izuku’s thin tail wagged and curled into a heart with a happy hum. “This is just what I needed to start my day!”

“I’ll kill you,” He grumbled.

“Kacchan’s too good for that!” Buttons began to loosen and Katsuki squawked as he shoved the demon away.

“Quit groping me, shitty Deku!”

“Groping is rough! I’m being gentle!” Izuku protested and Katsuki scowled.

“DIE!”

“Scary!” Izuku pouted. “My advances are genuine, y’know!”

“Like hell they are, Deku!” Katsuki snapped. “You’re a demon, I’m an angel, so keep your hands off or I’ll melt you with holy water.” He glowered as he shoulder checked the shorter and walked off.

🌗🌗🌗

“Kacchan!”

“Quit calling me that! We ain’t friends!” Katsuki glared at the starry eyed demon.

“I wanna prove to you I’m serious!” Izuku pulled out a bouquet from behind with a wide grin and Katsuki blinked.

“Huh? How’d you get flowers down here?” Flowers were a human thing. How had he obtained any?

“Ah, that’s a secret… I didn’t break any rules though!” Izuku laughed. Katsuki looked from him to the flowers and hesitantly took them to examine them. They smelt sweet, floral, and Katsuki couldn’t say he hated it.

“…They’re nice. What the hell are they though?”

“Orchids and red roses!” Izuku sat atop his desk with a mischievous smirk forming. “You know…Orchids were derived from the word ‘orchis’ thanks to an ancient Greek botanist by the name of Theophrastos. He thought the flower resembled the uh…male anatomy.” He winked and Katsuki flushed with mortification and anger.

“You ass!” He hit the bouquet over his head and watched as petals strewed over the demon and the floor.

A sudden sense of mourning hit him square in the chest at the sight and it only made Katsuki’s scowl deepen.

“You’re such a dick, like you could do a single nice thing without an motive!” He clutched the bouquet tighter in hand as he stormed off, biting back tears. Why the hell was he so upset over fuckin’ flowers? Who cares if they’re a rarity, who cares if they smell nice, they’re just petals that serve no purpose to him! Who cares if Deku got them for him…

He hated that stupid, no good, perverted demon. He had been bothering him for almost a year now, with that stupid sweet fanged smile and those giant doe eyes and that wagging pointy tail and…

He’s a menace. Yet Katsuki’s upset. Because the genuine offer wasn’t…genuine.

“Stupid Deku.” Katsuki’s bottom lip wobbled and he rubbed his wet eyes roughly with his forearm. He looked down at the partially destroyed flowers and sighed.

He wondered if Koda would have a nice vase to spare from his collection back upstairs for the salvageable ones…

🌗🌗🌗

“Katsuki,” Katsuki would deny the flinch if asked, glaring back at the hybrid.

“What do you want, Icyhot?” He grumbled.

“I noticed you have…flowers. On your desk.” The hybrid stared at the small clear vase, little crystal halos patterning it.

“What? Is that a crime now?”

“No. I’m just…surprised.” Shouto reached out to touch a petal and Katsuki snapped a hand around his wrist on reflex.

“I don’t want you ruining them, asshole.” He excused as he let the boy go.

“Hm.” Shouto looked around. “Where’s my bastard father? I want permission topside.”

“You still stalking that human?” Katsuki rolled his eyes. Shouto frowned.

“Stalking implies he doesn’t know I’m there. He knows.” Shouto smiled slightly as he thought of his human. “I want to kiss him.”

“Don’t fraternise with humans, idiot. What if you get him pregnant?”

“Hanta can’t…get pregnant. He doesn’t have a womb.”

“Who cares! Humans and whatever the hell you are? Not allowed.”

“My father loved a demon.”

“Yeah and now they’re forbidden from speaking and you and your siblings are considered freaks of nature.” He knew it was a harsh blow but it made Shouto shut up. “Whatever. I’ll get him to sign a permission form for you to go topside. Come back in a few hours.” Katsuki huffed and flipped through his planner.

“…He’s worth it. Banishment.” Shouto spoke softly. “One day I might go topside and just…not come back.”

“Don’t tell me that, idiot. I could report you, you know?” Katsuki pursed his lips.

“You wouldn’t.” Shouto smiled knowingly. “Not like I can abide by both sides anyway.” He stood with a contemplating expression. “Earth might be a better fit for me. Hanta’s there.”

“You’re an idiot. Falling for a human.”

“Mm. Maybe. But opposites attract, right?” Shouto’s eyes sparkled. “I’m going to kiss him today.”

“Whatever.” Katsuki huffed and shooed him off. Opposites attract bullshit. Who would want to date someone who they can’t get along with? Better yet, why would a demon or Angel want to date a human? Or an Angel date a demon? They had rules for a reason.

“Kacchan!” Katsuki felt a body press against his cloaked wings and planted his feet to avoid falling off his chair. An indignant flush turned his cheeks rosy as he turn to face the menace.

“Deku.”

“Are you still mad at me? I’m sorry!” He gave big puppy dog eyes and Katsuki scowled.

“I’m always mad at you, shitty Deku!” He roared and the demon stepped back out of range with a nervous laugh.

“Such a temper for an Angel!”

“Fuck you.”

“If you…” Izuku’s eyes zoned in past him and Katsuki’s stomach dropped. The flowers. “You kept them?” His eyes lit up as a smile spread across his face, cheeks pink. “I’m glad!” His tail wagged and curled into a quick heart, back and forth. Katsuki looked away.

“Flowers are rare. I wasn’t gonna throw them away.” He muttered.

“I’m glad you like them, Kacchan.” Izuku slinked up to him and sat on the edge of his desk, smiling down at him as the pointed end of his tail teased a loose petal of a rose. “I really am sorry. I made a joke in poor taste.”

“Whatever. Just go die, Deku.” He huffed, ignoring the demon. He flinched when a fingertip ran along his right temple and over his nose and back over on the opposite side.

“You have a scar here.” Izuku murmured. “It’s so faint.” Katsuki smacked his hand away.

“It’s probably from before, it’s not a big deal.”

“Before what?” Izuku blinked at him with clueless green eyes and Katsuki’s eyes widened.

“Oh. You came after the first generation of angels and demons, huh?”

“I don’t know.” Izuku shrugged. “I don’t remember.”

“Well…neither do I, really.”

Katsuki ran a finger over the faint scar. He barely noticed it these days. “I was first generation. I fought in the Great War. Many angels I knew back then Fell to Hell or died, but I don’t remember them. It’s been…a long time.”

He didn’t really talk about it. No one asked.

“Is that why you hide your wings?” That asshole was more perceptive than Katsuki gave credit.

“Mangled the fuck outta them during the final battle. They don’t…they ain’t so pretty anymore, so I save everyone else the sight.” He shrugged impassively. He didn’t want his pity.

“Ah…” Izuku’s tail flicked sharply side to side, agitated. “I woke up without horns.” He pulled back to his mop of green curls to show off the damaged base of his black horns. He could see hints of red between the cracks and Katsuki bit back a wince. “Never grew back in.”

“Looks painful.”

“Migraines some days, fine others.” Izuku shrugged. “I have so many scars I don’t even remember getting, it’s kinda crazy!” He laughed at the absurdity of it all.

“…I think this is the longest civil conversation we’ve ever managed.” He realised out loud and Izuku smiled.

“I can’t help my instinct as a demon, riling you up is fun. So don’t take me too seriously, Kacchan.”

“I thought you wanted me to take your seriously?” Katsuki challenged and Izuku’s green eyes darkened as his tail curled around his thigh and squeezed. The angel’s breath hitched as the pointed end grazed his zipper, leaning back in his chair as the demon leant in close.

“When I’m pursuing you, know it’s with full intent to have you all to myself, Angel.” Izuku purred and Katsuki’s cheeks dusted pink at the declaration.

“Stupid Deku,” He mumbled weakly, shoving his chair back to escape without thinking of the tail. He yelped as the demon fell into his lap, green eyes wide before falling half-mast with a low hum of satisfaction. Two arms wound around the Angel as he pressed closer, tail rubbing harder at the front of his slacks. Katsuki bit his lip as his blush darkened, feeling his dick chub up as Izuku continued to purr like a cat.

“How bold, Kacchan…” Izuku grazed a pointed nail along his jaw and Katsuki shivered as the demon breathed him in like he was a drug, eyes fluttering shut.

“I feel like I could know you in any room, any realm, and never mistake you for another. Your presence is potent, Kacchan, and I love it.”

Katsuki gasped as lips found his, quick and hard with roaming hands that made his body feel feverish. If anyone’s presence was compelling, it was Izuku’s. His head felt like it was spinning with every little kiss, every tempting flick of a pink tongue against his own, the familiar touch of rough callouses and bumpy scars against his chest.

Katsuki whimpered when the demon pulled away, licking his pink lips with slitting pupils.

“Kacchan really is amazing.” He breathed, enamoured as he lifted the angels shirt up to get a glimpse of those full, soft pecs he loved. His nipples were perky and pink, and Izuku salivated at the idea of them in his mouth.

“Deku…” Katsuki blinked, trying to focus.

“Katsuki!” The pair jumped at the sound of Enji’s voice and Katsuki snapped back with a curse.

“Get out!” He hissed. Izuku scrambled off him, tail tucked between his legs as he gave Katsuki a quick wave and disappeared down the hall.

What hell was that demon thinking?! They had rules, dammit! It was fine when he was just harassing him, but he couldn’t just—!

“Katsuki, have you seen Shouto?” Katsuki swallowed and cleared his throat, hiding his boner as he slinked towards his desk with his chair.

“He asked for permission topside about twenty minutes ago.” Katsuki informed and Enji groaned.

“That kid…I’ll authorise it, but he has to come home for dinner this weekend. And stay the whole meal.” Enji sighed and signed the form Katsuki handed to him.

“I’m not a messenger, dickwad.”

“You’re a secretary. It’s your job.” Enji clapped back without trying to correct Katsuki’s attitude. He was used to it by now.

“Whatever.” Katsuki rolled his eyes and the man left to do his own job. Katsuki waited a good ten seconds before he shoved his hand down his pants. He never said he was the perfect Angel.

Katsuki rarely got horny enough to touch himself, he had other things to deal with as a working Angel, but right now he needed to get off or he felt he might die.

Katsuki bit his lip to keep quiet as he unbuttoned his pants and pulled his hard cock from his boxers, stroking it with a pleased hum. He rested his forehead against the wood of his desk and panted as he rolled his hips into each pull, fucking his hand with stilted whimpers. He needed to make this quick and easy so he could get back to work and stop thinking about—

Deku. Izuku. That demon.

God, he was getting off to the thought of a demon. He must be going insane. He felt like he was burning up. One step closer to hell.

Katsuki gasped at the sudden ache behind his eyes, squeezing them shut with a wince. Phantom hands ran along his sides, burning lips on his neck as his insides throbbed. His breath hitched, shuddering at the sensation of hands in his hair, his wings, drawing them in closer with a broken moan.

Cum splattered his palm and Katsuki gasped for air in a way that felt overdramatic. He felt way too sensitive for a simple jack off session. His entire body ached in a delicious way he’s never felt before.

“Fuck…” Katsuki’s thighs twitched uselessly as he sluggishly reached for a tissue to clean himself up. “What the hell?” He mumbled. That splitting headache had struck hard and now it was barely there.

Katsuki pinched the bridge of his nose with a sigh.

He had to report Izuku. It was against the rules to fraternise with demons, and it went both ways. If Katsuki reported him now, maybe he could escape any awful punishments…

Yet the longer Katsuki stared at his desk phone, the more his resolve fell away. He couldn’t report Izuku. He had enjoyed that as much that stupid demon. Izuku had probably just taken his demonic antics too far. He didn’t understand demons at all.

He didn’t report Shouto’s nonsense. It would be hypocritical!

He already was one.

He could lie to himself though.
