Chapter Text
Hiding in the basement won’t solve anything. He knows that and yet when his name flashes across the news, he runs. Down the steps through the door. He flies into the corner and pulls the loose wood that leads to a hole under the floorboards. He crawls into his childhood hide and seek spot. A small storage space made for old boxes and dust to sleep. A place that used to be filled with muffled giggles is now filled with muffled sobs.
He hides shaking as he waits for the noises of heavy feet upstairs. There’s the far-off sound of the younger kids of the house crying as their caretaker tries to console them. He hears the upset shouts of his only friend Purpled. Yet he doesn’t come down to see him. They know it will only hurt more. He must wait for the officers to drag him out. To throw him on that giant hunk of metal. To send him out to the place no one wants to go. For he is now a plaything for them. Something they can poke to see how it’ll react. A peace offering to those things.
He can’t tell if he was there for minutes or days. The darkness was closing in as his breath picked up. He didn’t want to die. He’s still young. He would do anything to stay on solid ground. He would help with the younger kids. He would listen to the caretakers. He would never complain about the older kids stealing from him. He would never complain about getting pushed around. He’ll hide the bruises better.
It's slowly settling in. He will never get to drive. Hell, he’ll never get his permit. He will never graduate. He’ll never get out of the hell hole of a house. He was so looking forward to aging out. Now he’ll never get that chance.
That’s when it starts. The thundering of footsteps from above. The rattling of the walls as they stormed. The dark seemed to grow smaller with every step. He could hear them calling his name. He knows it's all in vain, yet he can’t seem to build up the courage to face them. He hears them coming down the stairs. The thundering of boxes being thrown. Dust unsettling soon entered his lungs. He bits down on his cheek, trying to muffle the sobs.
A blinding light enters the cramped space. Shouts sound out. Revealing his hiding spot to all. Gloved hands reach down pulling on him. He tries to fight, screaming, biting, wiggling his way out. It all proves to be pointless as they force him into the light.
Government officers swarm the small basement, closing in on him. Why they send a whole ass team to take in one kid he will never know. One of the officers steps up. Dark green hair and a bulletproof vest. He looks a bit apologetic offering him a small sad smile before he opens his mouth.
“Tommy Innit I am here to inform you that you have been chosen as the offering to the Dreamons. Resistance is futile. May God be with you as you go” He informs Tommy. A frown forms as he nods to something Tommy can’t see.
A prick in Tommy’s neck is the last thing he feels before black dots consume his vision.
+++++++++++++++
All Tommy knows after that is excruciating pain and occasional darkness. He’s not sure how long he's been here. The days fuse together. Most of his time was spent strapped to a cold metal table as the aliens performed all kinds of tests on him. That was the exact place he was coming from now.
The Dreamons drag him down the white hallways, a bloody trail being left behind. A quick beep tells Tommy that they have arrived at the holding cells. He is thrown without caution to his injuries. A treatment he has grown used to. The hard metal hit his already bruised back knocking the wind out of his chest. The Dreamons appeared to chuckle at his pained gasp. Or at least that was what Tommy assumed after all there was no solid way to tell.
“Ah fuck off you little cunts” he mutters under his breath. Making sure to stay quiet enough to not annoy them. He still has the scar from when he chose to scream at them. A painful punishment for his little slip-up. No rules are solid here. Slipping through his fingers as they changed, he desperately tried to cling onto the ones that didn’t. Trying to find normalcy in the paranormal after all is a hard goal to accomplish.
This time it seems he’ll get away with it, as all he appears to get is a kick to the cage. Rattling the cold metal, shaking his brain a little bit, but far better than the lateral.
The aliens seem to smile as Tommy's mouth snaps shut. Cruel sharp teeth reveal as their mouths turn upwards. The white mask-like circles cover most of their face, only leaving a small sliver of their mouth to be seen. Their body’s a hideous green color. Ribs sticking out as if they were the ones not eating, knees bent the wrong way.
They were the only aliens Tommy has had the displeasure of meeting, the ship is full of them. Tommy wonders if there are any other types out there, or if these guys just took control of the whole universe. It seems impossible, but Tommy also it was impossible for him to be the next pawn for the government and look where that got him.
A swoosh of the door pulled him out of his thoughts. In walked his least favorite of all of the aliens, and that's saying something cause he hates all of these fucks. He has nicknamed this one XD due to the large symbols cruelly shaped like the two letters. While not perfectly right it was close enough in Tommy's book.
XD was quick to throw open Tommy’s door. Grabbing his ankle as he drags Tommy out of the cage. Gods, Tommy could never catch a break could he, he thinks as his cuts open up once again at the sudden movement.
XD drags him down the hall, not even sparing Tommy the pride of walking himself. He is dragged through the halls struggling not to let all of his cuts open. The halls twist and turn in ways he could never keep up with before they come to a stop. The door opens revealing a room that haunted Tommy every day and night. It appeared like an old hospital room. A metal bed rests in the middle, one that Tommy was quickly strapped to. That's when a small plastic cart was rolled in, knives and scalpels rest on top. XD takes a hard long look at them before swiftly grabbing one bringing it up above Tommy.
That's when the lights went red and a horrible screeching filled the air.
