stars spell out their own title while shooting stars are authors running away from responsibility

Summary:

The planet of Dagobah was one of the dullest planets Luke had ever had the pleasure of crash landing on. Now his green soon to be victim was sprouting all this philosophical Jedi bullshit.

Notes:

This sort of one shot takes place within a sort of universe that I have molded where Padme gave Luke to Obi-Wan and raised Leia on her own. Anakin never burned and he eventually found out about Luke and thus leading to this monstrosity. I am planning on writing an actual series but this is more or less a test run.

Will probably rewrite or edit if I do in fact write a series, so it goes along with plot and shit.

Hope you enjoy whatever this even is.

Work Text:

“Inside of you much anger I see.”

A few minutes of listening to the small green jedi master had already proven to be bothersome and now shortly was psychoanalysing him. His hand inched towards the lightsaber on his belt, preparing to strike until a sudden stumble landing him headfirst into the misty dirt. The scowl he threw at Yoda (really more of a pout) was worthy enough to rival his father’s, and yet the frown Yoda threw back was more resembling a disappointed Womp Rat than a Humanoid Alien.

The fact that he had to judge Luke on his anger issues when he himself was going around whacking people with his walking stick, was not a good look for the Jedi Master

“Impatient and not willing to learn, you are. Just the same as your father” Yoda took a brief pause to grab his fallen sith-hitting walking stick and was about to continue,

“My father has already informed me of his time at the Jedi Temple” Luke blurted out not willing to listen to anymore of the foolery of a Jedi , only to be prodded on the leg by the stick and to be lectured, “Listen to me you will, or else a beating will not be the worst thing I will do to you”

“Willing to confront the anger inside of you, you are not. Deceiving the dark side is, but playing ignorant to it’s actions leads you further down this dark path of yours, it will.” That made Luke internally cackle. Ignorant? Him? He was the reason for thousands of innocents to die, families to split apart and he was the one to help torture hundereds of rebels. As if he was the ignorant one. Heck the reason he is here is to kill Yoda.

It had only been 26 Standard days since the emperor had informed him of his mission, and while his father would have probably preferred him not to go, his shuttle had left only minutes after. Since then he has been trying to navigate his way into the dagobah system. He had only arrived yesterday to be greeted by his ship sinking in the soupy swamp and the real mission had begun:

To kill the Jedi Master, Yoda.

Succeeding in this feat would not only prove himself loyal to the emperor but he could finally prove to all those shitty admirals that the rumours of him, including his father, being Unfaithful were obviously false. The thought of being Unfaithful made him snort. Not that he was betraying the emperor, because he was trying very much not to, but because that made it sound like he was, well, intimate with the emperor. Ignoring the stub to his foot he mentally cackled.

Although ever since, arriving this mission has proved itself to be rather bothersome.

“Good in you I see, for the mother of yours kindness lingers in you” The only kindness Luke had ever bothered showing was preventing a rebel from prolonged suffering, by ending his life of course.

On the other hand his mother, despite what others and he himself would lead themselves to think, was not a touchy subject for him. While she did choose to abandon him with that traitor Kenobi who then didn't even bother, leaving him under the scorching twin suns on Tatooine under the care of his aunt and uncle. Luke had the pleasure of being raised in a rather basic lifestyle until he turned 1 and a half standard years old. That life came to an end when his father finally found and brought him home.

Apparently his father had only been made aware of his existence due to his master's monitoring of the planet, and so his father spared no time in claiming him as his own and he was promptly removed from Owen and Beru's care.

He never had enough guts to ask him what happened to them, until one day his desire overtook his fear and he already regretted words he had yet to speak,

“What happened to my aunt and uncle?”

“Aunt and Uncle?” The sight of his father turning towards him was enough to have made his stomach turn.

“What Aunt and Uncle?”

And so since then he forgot about Beru and Owen. It was pointless reliving childhood memories filled with Jedi sympathisers, although as short of a time Luke had spent there, he missed it (whatever it was he even had).

Somehow that wasn't the worst answer he’s ever gotten. The time he had asked about him mother led to the talk. The talk was the first time Luke had heard his father talk about her, and while it was mostly filled with his father’s rage at her betraying him and giving up Luke to Kenobi, what had destroyed his vision of a loving mother was the fact that his mother was still alive. And yet, somehow, there was still a small part of Luke that still held onto some sort of hope.

“Miss her you do. Much like her you are, do not doubt that. On the dark path you have started, but possible change is. Now stand up you must, there is training to be done” Yoda interrupted, grabbing his stick and making his way closer, not stepping back when luke drew his Lightsaber again. Luke then paused.

“Training. I have training to do?”

He was, of course, still training under the emperor and his father but the ludicrous thought of having to train under a Jedi, one he was going to kill no less, made him freeze.

“You..” he paused realising what it would entail, “Will train me?”

Huffing, The Jedi Master climbed his way onto Luke's back and and as he began to flung his arms about,

“Train you I will in the power of the force” he said as Luke continued to bat him off his shoulders. From that day onward, as much as he relented, was a trip to the light side.
